A slower week

It is hard to believe that another week has gone by.  I have been able to find some time to work on projects which is good so now to see what this coming week is going to be like.

Things have been a little crazy this past week and I don't think it's going to get any slower this coming week. I do know that I would like to see some progress on my crafting but will have to see how things go.

Elizabeth Garrod - I was able to make some good progress on this piece and am happy with that. I am now at 85% complete and only have 481 stitches left to do. Yes, it's going to take a bit of time to get all of those stitches in but hopefully before I post again next week, I will have this piece finished.

This piece has been so nice to work on and with it not being red it has also been fun. I am looking forward to getting back to working on another red sampler, but I think that is going to be a bit of time. I do have more red samplers to stitch, but I have other projects that I would like to move forward first.

Baby sets - I made a little bit of progress on my knitting this past week but not as much as I would have liked. I didn't get the mittens sewn up that I had finished so that is something that I am going to try and do this coming week. I did get a hat finished which is great and now to work on getting more of the sets finished instead of just having bits of a set done.

These projects have been great to work on because they are easy to do, and I can also see that yarn is slowly getting used up. I am also thinking that I might be able to get more of these done if I can get back to knitting 30 minutes a day.

Other crafts - I have been able to get a few motifs made for the English Paper piecing but even that hasn't got a lot of attention.

I am not sure what this week is going to be like as I know that there are some busy days ahead of me. It is still important for me to find that 30 minutes of time each day to do something for myself. It sometimes is my crafting and other days it is writing in my journal book or reading. I don't care what it is, but I do know that I need to ensure that I take a bit of time for myself each day.

Hopefully next week I will have some progress to show you on things, but I will just have to wait and see. May you have a productive week, no matter what you do, and I will see you next week.

Another crazy week

Well, another week has come and gone, and I have to admit that it was another week where I didn't have a lot of time to do much crafting. I did find the 10 - 15 minutes each day to take time for myself but crafting wasn't something that I could do much this past week.

Elizabeth Garrod - now here is the piece that got some attention because I wanted to try and move it forward a little bit. It feels good seeing the progress that I made on this piece and that was when I had that bit of time to actually sit and work on it. Now to see if I can make some more progress on it this week.

I hope to be able to get to at least 50% completed on this piece before the end of this week as I am currently at 32.70% done. Just seeing that I can make some progress on it would make me feel so much better.

Baby sets - I was able to find bits of time to knit some mittens this past week but as you can see most of them need sewing together. I also started another baby hat so that is something I hope that I can get moved forward before the end of this week as well. Maybe I will try and get all the mittens sewn together and this hat finished and that will make me feel a little better.

Other projects - this past week I wasn't able to find time to work on any other projects so will see how this week goes. I know that I have a lot of things that I would like to work on this week so I will see just what happens.

I hope you have been able to continue to find that bit of time for yourself each day no matter what it is. I found this past week sitting and doing a bit of journaling is what made me happy so that is what I did. This week, my goal is to try and find those bits of time again to move some of my crafting forward.

Next week I hope to have some progress to show you on at least a couple of projects. Have a good week and remember to find that time for yourself each day.

A bit of progress

Here it is the start of another week and hopefully this week I will be able to see some progress on things. Last week was a pretty busy week for us as we had a conference on one day last week and then the next day, we had another work event so that means not a lot of time to do things like crafting.

One thing that I can say is that I was happy that I had some projects that I could work on. Just seeing that I got something done makes me feel a little better.

Baby sets - this past week when I had the time to work on something I was working on getting some sets completed.

These sets do work up quickly when I can sit and focus on getting something completed. The mittens don't take long at all to make and then I just have to make the hat to go with them. It is nice to see that I have been able to make some progress on the items and now to see what it is like this week.

I have figured out some of the other yarn that I am going to be using to make these sets and I think I will be busy for a while getting these sets completed. Not currently sure what I am going to be doing with these sets when they are completed but I know that I will probably find a place that can use them.

It feels great seeing some progress on the small things and now to see if I can continue to get more items worked on this week. Hopefully I can get back to seeing progress on a few things before the end of the week.

Other crafts - I can honestly say that I haven't worked on my cross stitch for a week now. If things go well today, I hope that I can start to work on it again as I have missed working on it. Now to see how this week goes as I know that we are busy again with a few things so will have to see what I can get done.

I hope that you have been able to find that time each day to do something for yourself. Recharging your personal batteries is very important as it makes it so much easier to deal with everything else that is going on around you.

Have a good week and I hope that I can show you some progress on at least a couple of things next week.

A finish, a start and some knitting

Here it is the start of another week and yes, a start of another busy week for us. I know that I should have some time to work on my crafts a bit each day but not as much as I have been doing in the last little while.

I am happy that I have been able to find a bit of time each day to get something moved forward even if I haven't bee able to see a lot of progress on things. Hopefully once things slow down a little, I will get back into a routine and I will start to see more progress on the various projects again.

Florence Law - here is the piece that has been my focus. I was loving working on it and I made sure that I was able to find the time where I could just sit and work on it.

My goal was to get this piece finished and early this past week I was able to put the last stitches in on her. It was a lot of fun working on this piece and of course, I am enjoying working on the various red samplers.

I still have quite a few red samplers to work on but after finishing this piece I decided to work on a different colour sampler so of course there was a new start.

Elizabeth Garrod - this piece has been one that I have wanted to start for the last couple of months but I wanted until I had Florence Law completed before I put the first stitches in on this piece.

This piece so far is stitching up relatively quickly, so I hope to have it finished before too long. This sampler is being done in a dark green, so it is a little different than I have done before but I am enjoying working on the piece. We will see how long it takes me to get this piece finished as there are a less stitches in it than Florence Law. Only time will tell how quickly it works up and a lot of that is also how much time I have available to work on this piece.

Baby sets - this past week I decided that I needed a bit of a change in my knitting. I have been working on a lot of large projects and I wanted to work on something a little smaller. This week I have been knitting some baby hats and mitten sets and I have been enjoying doing that. This is all I got done this past week and I still need to put the ties in the mittens.

These are items that don't take me too long to complete so it is nice to have something that works up quickly and I can see them done. Hopefully I will be able to get the ties done for the mittens this week and then the hat for the green set.

Other projects - I haven't been working on a lot of other things and part of that is because I haven't had a lot of time to focus on things. I have enjoyed being able to pickup the projects that I have been doing as it makes me happy to see some progress on something.

I hope everyone is continuing to find that little bit of time each day to recharge your own personal battery. It might only be 10 or 15 minutes but at least that bit of time helps you focus and have the energy to help those around you.

Have a good week and I hope to have a bit of progress on something this coming week. It might not be a lot of progress, but I will just have to wait and see.

English Paper Piecing - April progress

It is hard to believe that another month has come and gone. This past month I had a focus and that was to see if I can get some more motifs made for both throws.

Large motifs - these motifs didn't get quite as much attention but at least I was able to get another 11 motifs made so I now have almost half of the motifs made that I need for this third version of this throw that I am making. Hopefully in May I will be able to work on making more of these motifs and maybe even sewing some motifs onto the 2nd version of the throw.

The first throw is still at the same place as it has been since last year so now, I need to sit and work on getting it finished up so that I can focus on the last two. It is nice working on these large motifs, but I do prefer the small size.

Small motifs - So here is where the attention ended up this past month. I was enjoying making the small motifs for the scrap throw so that was my focus. I ended the month with 98 more motifs made for this throw and I did sew another 7 motifs onto the throw. No picture of the throw as you wouldn't see any difference. Maybe in May I will work on sewing some more of the motifs onto the throw so that I will have something to show.

English Paper Piecing - working on the various motifs and sewing the motifs together is so relaxing and something that I enjoy doing. It would be nice to see these projects moved forward a little quicker, but I am enjoying the journey and that is what is important to me. Of course, I have other ideas that I want to move forward but until these projects are done or very close to being done, I don't think I will be working on too many more projects. The ideas will be documented, and ideas of fabric will be thought through but other than that I don't think I will be adding too much fabric to the pile that I already have.

In May I hope to be able to continue to work on making some motifs for both throws and maybe even get some joining done as well. Hope if you are working on your English Paper piecing that you are enjoying it and seeing little bits of progress on it. If you are working on another craft, I hope you enjoy that as well. See you at the beginning of June with another update on how these projects are going.

A little more progress

Here it is the start of another week and yes a week where I have lots of things that I would like to accomplish. It is going to be a busy week for me so will see what crafting I can get done. This last week I did spend some time crafting and am happy with the progress that I made on the various projects. I did end up working on more projects than I thought I would, but it still means that I made progress.

Mini the Forgotten - this piece came out for a little while, but it didn't get as much attention as normal. I at least worked on it for a while on Saturday, but it just wasn't calling me, so it was time to put it down before I started to make mistakes. This week I will see if I pull it out or not as I think maybe I need a bit of a break from it. I think I will wait and see how this week goes and if I pull this one out or not. It's still a long way to go before this piece is finished.

Florence Law - here is the cross stitch piece that got the most attention this week. I am looking forward to seeing this piece finished as it is something that I have been enjoying working on.

This past week I decided that instead of working on bits of each of the rows that I was going to try and work on getting more of the rows completed. It has been interesting watching this piece come to life. It started out slowly and now I am finally starting to see the areas of the design getting done. It would be nice to get this piece completed so that I can frame it, but I am going to miss working on it.

Having something like this on the go makes me happy as I enjoy seeing the progress on it each time that I pick it up. Now that I can see the end in sight, I guess it is almost time to figure out which project will be getting the attention after this one is finished.

I know that I have projects that I could be working on so many one of those will come out for a while and maybe get some attention. Besides all the projects that I would pull out I am also thinking that I may have a new start soon and it will probably be another sampler but this time it won't be red.

Diagonal Garter Shawl - this piece wasn't going to be worked on very much this week, but it came out a couple of times. Yes, I did have a webinar that I was watching so it came out that day and it came out again another day when I just needed something simple to work on.

It is a nice piece to work on and I can see progress on it quickly right now. I am still working on the increase section so that helps me see the progress quickly on the piece.

This week I think this project will get a bit more attention but will have to see how much more of it I get done. It would be nice to get to the end of the increase section as then I will be working on the main section which is what takes the longest to do. I guess, I will just see how things go this week and if I can get all the increases done or not.

Wedding Shawl - this piece was once again the main focus of the 30 minutes of knitting most days. I did miss a couple of days this week but given everything else I am happy with the progress that I made on this piece. The piece now measures 39 inches and I think I am going to make this shawl 60 inches long, so I am getting closer to a finish which makes me feel good.

If I measured things right and also counted correctly, I think I have around 14 more patterns to go on the piece before it is finished. Not sure how long that is going to take me to finish but being able to see it done would make me happy. This should be the focus piece for most of the week but will just have to see how things go.

Other projects
- I haven't been working on a lot of other things other than my English Paper piecing which will be a separate blog.

I hope everyone is finding that bit of time each day to do something for yourself and recharge your personal batteries. Being able to find that bit of time each day for yourself does help so much as it means we have the energy to help other around us as well as being able to get things done that we want to get done.

Have a good week and hopefully next week I will have some progress to so you. I am not sure what I will be working on but at least seeing progress on something would be good.
