Stitching and Knitting is happening

Temperature - October 20
Temperature - October 28
Here it is the start of another week and I am happy to say that I have been able to spend some time working on some different projects this week.  Sure some of the old projects are still getting attention but some new projects have also been getting the attention that they have needed. I will update on the old projects first and then show the progress on a couple of new projects.

Linen and Threads Mystery SAL 2018 - October 20
Temperature - now this project is finally staying caught up which is nice so it means that this week I should be able to finish the October section.  It feels great seeing that I have all the temperatures stitched right up until the 27th of the month.  I couldn't stitch the 28th as it was only posted this morning so that will be one that gets stitched early this week.

Linen and Threads Mystery SAL 2018 - October 24
Linen and Threads Mystery SAL '18 - now this is a project that seems to be going extremely slowly and I am not sure why that is.  I hope that this week I will be able to pick this piece back up and see some good progress on it as I really want to get this section completed.  I also know that the November section is being posted this week so I need to make sure that I am staying caught up on this piece as well.

I think if I can spend one evening really focusing on this piece I might be able to see some good progress on it and then I might feel a little better about it and want to get it done.  I am also looking forward to seeing that the November section is going to be as I don't think it is going to be a large section so that will be nice.

Easy Goes It - October 21
Easy Goes It - now this is a shawl that I am knitting and I have to admit that I have really enjoyed working on this a bit each day.  I have been able to complete four of the sections and have another four to go.  It isn't a large shawl so that is nice and maybe I will be able to get this done in November or at least that is my goal.
Easy Goes It - October 28

Last night I was looking through my yarn deciding on what shawl would be nice and I found some brown alpaca yarn that I got so it is now wound into a ball of yarn and has been started.  I figured as I didn't have a lot of the brown I didn't want to make something large so it is also going to be an Easy Goes It shawl.  I will take a picture of that one next week when I have some more progress on it.

Be A Butterfly by X's and Oh's
Be A Butterfly - I decided it was time to start working on a small cross stitch this week so I picked up a new pattern that I picked up a couple of weeks ago.  Be A Butterfly looks like it should be a quick stitch but with all the quarter stitches and the backstitching, it does take some time.  I am loving how it is turning out so far and am looking forward to seeing it completed soon.

Be A Butterfly - October 28
I am thinking that if I can work on it a bit at a time I should have it finished within the next couple of weeks besides all the other stitching that I want to get completed.

I have lots of work that I need to get done this week so that will be what I work on each day and then in the evenings I will see if I can if I can get some crafting done on at least one project.  I hope that things go smoothly this week and I can see some projects moved forward but time will tell.

Another week and some progress

Temperature October 14th
Here it is the start of another week and I actually have a bit of progress on a couple of projects which makes me feel good.

Temperature October 20th
Temperature - now here is a project that I have been working on quite a bit because I wanted to get it all caught up.  I can finally say after a couple of months of hard work I have now got all of the piece caught up so that means that I just have a couple of days of temperatures to add to this piece and it will be current.

It feels great seeing that this piece is now up to the 18th of October and now I just need to add the rows from the weekend, which I will do today, and it will be up to date.  The colours are now changing again into the cooler colours so will see what it looks like after this week.

Linen and Threads Mystery SAL - October 6th
Linen and Threads Mystery SAL 2018 - this piece finally got a little bit of love on Saturday when I had finished working on Temperature.  I am now going to try and focus some of my stitching time on getting this section finished so that when the November section is posted I am current on the entire design.

Linen and Threads Mystery SAL - October 20th
This week I hope that I can find some time to work on this piece as I would really like to see it finished up quickly and then maybe I can see what other project will get some love and attention before the end of the month.  I know that making sure this is done is the first cross stitch priority and then I will see what else I can work on.

Some knitting - I decided in this last week to pick up some knitting as I wanted to see if I could get a couple of shawls knit up quickly.

Asymmetrical knit shawl - October 21st
The first shawl that I started was the Asymmetrical knit shawl by Yarnspiriations.  It uses some new yarn called Caron x Pantone which is a 100g braid of yarn.  I call it a braid because there are five separate small hanks of yarn in this braid. The yarn is a chunky weight yarn and is does feel very nice but having to deal with these little balls of yarn isn't something that I think I will be doing again.  My DH did help wind all the little balls which was great but there were joins in the middle of some of the 20 gram hanks so that meant even more little balls to deal with.  This shawl takes 4 braids of the yarn so instead of having 20 little balls of yarn I think we ended up with 25 or 26 balls which was frustrating. The shawl is working up very quickly which is nice and now to see what it looks like when it is finished. I have completed 3 of the 9 colour sections that I need to complete.  I will continue to work on this shawl a bit more evenings as I would like to get it done quickly.

Easy Goes It - October 21st
The other shawl that I started this week is called Easy Goes It and I found it on Ravelry.  It is once again an easy pattern but this one uses fingering weight yarn so even after some knitting it doesn't look like much. For this shawl I am using Woolike by Loops and Threads and am enjoying how it is working up so far.  I am still on the first section of the pattern but so far it is an easy pattern to work on and I hope to work on this a bit at a time.

The Easy Goes It project is currently sitting in my office area and it gets a bit of attention when I am waiting for an answer to a question or a need a 5 minute break from what I am working on.  As the rows are currently short even working on the shawl for 5 minutes means that I can get a couple of rows done.

I have quite a bit of work that now needs my attention so I am going to go and do that and then I will see what I work on this evening.  I hope to find some time to sit and relax and work on at least one project this evening.  I will see what I feel like and what gets the attention and hopefully next week I will have some progress on a couple of projects to show you.

It is now time to get back to work and see what this week is like.  Hope everyone has a great week and I will post an update again next week.

Progress and a finish

Temperature - October 8th
Temperature - October 14th
Here it is another weekly report and I have a bit of progress to show for this week.  Yes, it was a busy week but at least I was able to find some time to sit and actually get some progress on something.
DLKsCrafts - September 15th

DLKsCrafts - October 13th
Temperature - now here is a project that did get some attention this last week and I am feeling a lot better about this project now. I have been able to continue to work on this piece and now I am starting to see that I am getting closer to being caught up than I thought I was.  Just sitting and working on this piece a bit each day has helped me see that I am getting to the point where hopefully by the end of this month I will be where I want to do.  I would like to be able to see that I have caught up on this stitching and will only have to work on the current temperatures instead of trying to get some of the other temperatures also stitched.

DLKsCrafts - now this is a project that is going to be used when we are taking pictures of grime guards for the ETSY shop.  It is basically the name of the ETSY shop stitched on a piece of Aida cloth that is on an 11x17 q-snap.  I have been trying to get this piece finished and finally this weekend I was able to sit and work on getting it done.  It felt great just seeing that the first of the three pieces is now finished and now I can start to work on the one for the 11x11 q-snap.  I know that I don't have to rush to get the other two stitched but at least getting the 11x11 one finished would make me happy so that is going to get started soon.

The reason I am stitching this is to help identify the images that I have been using for the grime guards on my site.  It also means that when I google grime guards I should be able to quickly identify any of the ones that are part of my shop.

So things are still extremely busy for me so that means I will be trying to get some stitching done in the evenings and will see how things go.  I know that just making sure that I can find little bits of time to relax is very important. I am looking forward to seeing what I can get moved forward this week as it is nice.

I have some work that I need to get done so that means I need to focus on that and then I will see what I can get accomplished.  It feels great just seeing that I am able to blend some work time as well as some crafting time. I have a bunch of things that I need to work on for our ETSY shop so that means that I need to work on that this week.

Some progress this week

Linen and Threads Mystery SAL - Sept 30
Here it is the start of another week and I have some stitching to show for last week which is great.  I wasn't sure how much time I was going to have to stitch but I was able to get some done over the weekend.

Linen and Threads Mystery SAL '18 - this is one of the projects that I am trying to see some good progress on.  I was able to finally pick this piece up again over the weekend and yes I was able to get some more of the first of the two mermaids stitched.  I really do love this piece and am looking forward to seeing what the last two months are like on the piece.  It is something that I have enjoyed working on and am looking forward to seeing the entire piece when it is all done.

Linen and Threads Mystery SAL - Oct 8
This section has caused some issues with people because of the nudity.  There are so many ways that this can be handled if it bothers anyone.  The designer of this pattern actually put up an apology about the nudity.  I'm not complaining as it is a free pattern and if you don't like it you can simply fill in a couple of stitches if it bothers you. I have even heard that some people have decided how to change the top a little to put a bikini top on the mermaid.

Temperature - Sept 29
Temperature - after feeling like I wasn't making any progress on this piece I am finally starting to see that I am getting somewhere on it.  I am now trying to get the September rows done on this piece and it is looking like I might be able to get them done soon if I focus on the actual stitching of the piece.

Temperature - Oct 8
One thing that I did do yesterday was actually stitch the row for October 7th.  It means that I have a line that shows where the current temperature is and I can see how much more stitching I have to get caught up.  Now that I have this line done I am going to try and keep working on the current day so that I keep current with the new temperatures while I work on getting the rest of the piece caught up.

So last week was a crazy week for me as I was extremely busy with a conference that we attended at the beginning of the week and then the rest of the week was trying to get all the work caught up.  Now this week I am still working on getting things caught up from last week so will see how things go.  I am looking forward to seeing what stitching I can get done this week as I would like to see if I can make some progress on Temperature.

I am thinking that this week I may also try and work on a couple of different projects for a change so now to see what really happens.  I don't know what stitching time I have until I can get some of the work done that is on my to-do list.  I have lots to do today so I better get working on it so that maybe later this evening I will be able to stitch for a bit.

New start and progress

Heaven and Earth - Roses

Here it is the end of another week and also a start.  I have been able to find some time to stitch but again not quite as much as I would have liked.

Roses - Heaven And Earth Designs - this piece got a little bit of a start this week and it is going to take quite a while to stitch.  It is an outline but the piece of fabric that I am using is 30 inches by 33 inches so yes a rather large project.

Roses - September 29
I have been able to put a little bit of effort in on this project this week and hope that over the next little while I will be able to start to see some more progress on it.  I am not sure how long it is going to take me to finish this project but I know that it is going to take me quite a bit of time to get it done but that is fine with me.  I have a spool of black floss that I will be using for this project because there is a lot of black stitches but at least I know that I should be able to get some of it done.

This is one of the Heaven and Earth design patterns that I own and I have also added a wish list to the website so that I can track the projects that I would like and also it is a means of giving people a list of the projects that I would like.  I would love to see the list a little shorter but I am currently going to wait for a while before I purchase another pattern because I have a few that I want to work on.  If someone else buys me a pattern I won't complain but I am just going to wait for a while before buying another pattern.
Temperature - September 23rd

Temperature - now here is a project that is getting most of the attention over the last while.  I am still trying to get it caught up which is taking me longer than I thought to get it done.

Temperature - January - August
I have now been able to get all of August done which is great and I hope that through October I will be able to work on getting all of September done and most of October completed.

Temperature - September 29th
One thing that we did this month was to take of picture of the entire design after I had finished August.  This gives you an idea of the entire size of the piece as well as all the different colours that are making up the design.  I am now two-thirds of the way through the entire year and am looking forward to seeing what colours will be added through the rest of the year.

Linen and Threads Mystery SAL '18 - October - so the October section of the Mystery SAL was released this morning and I quickly downloaded and printed the pattern.  I wanted to see if I could at least make a bit of progress on it today and that is what I did.  The bubbles don't look very good in this picture but I added a little bit of glitter to them so that they look a little more like bubbles.  I will see what else I add to the mermaids because I would like to see if I can make them look a little different.

Linen and Threads Mystery SAL '18 - September 30
The October piece is bigger than the September section so it is going to be taking me a bit longer to get it finished but I don't mind that.  I am really enjoying this entire project and am looking forward to seeing it completed by the end of December.

I hope to be able to spend some more time working on this project the next week but will have to see how things go.  My work schedule is pretty busy early this week so that means that if I can get stitching time in, it will be later on in the week or on the weekend.

So this is a very busy week for me so I am not sure how much stitching I will get done until the end of the week but I hope to be able to get little bits of time in when I can.  I hope to work some on Temperature this week as well as Mystery SAL but we will see.  Hope everyone is getting their crafting time and are enjoying it.  I know I enjoy my crafting time when I have it.
