A little bit of progress

Where did the week go? I must admit that I am not sure where this last week really went. Yes, I was busy with a lot of things so that is probably why I am not sure where the past week went.

Winter is Coming - this piece so very little attention this past week but at least I was able to sit and work on it for a little while.

This piece is slowly getting moved forward and maybe this week if things work out well, I might be able to find a bit more time to sit and work on it and get more of it done.

What is nice about this pattern is that it isn't large so just picking it up and working on little bits helps as you can see progress on the entire piece. The right most motif is just about to the top of the design so that will be nice so that will give me a really good idea of the actual size of the project.

Diagonal Garter Shawl - here is the piece that got a lot of attention this past week. I was able to find some knitting time most days so that helps move this shawl forward quite a bit. I have been trying to knit for 30 minutes a day and it is amazing how much you can get done in that amount of time.

I just finished the second ball of yarn for this project so am over halfway through the project which is good. It is something that I have been enjoying working on and it is easy to do. This week, I hope to be able to once again pick this project up most days and see how it goes. I have around 20 more inches to knit before I start the decrease so I will see what I can get done this week. It would be nice to see some really good progress on the shawl and maybe get it closer to a finish.

English Paper Piecing - now this is something that has got some of my attention this past week and hopefully when I write my EPP blog I will have lots of progress to show you. It is making me happy seeing what I have been able to accomplish in June on my projects.

Between my knitting and my motif making and joining that has been what I have been able to spend my crafting time on most of the week. I will see what this week is like because I know that there are things that I would like to get moved forward before the end of next weekend.

Other projects - well I didn't work on any other projects in the last week and a lot of that is because I didn't have a lot of extra time to work on things.

I hope everyone is finding that bit of time for themselves each day. Making sure that you recharge your own personal batteries is very important. I know that when I haven't been able to find the energy to craft, I have at least found those few minutes to sit on the balcony and just try and relax.

I hope everyone has a good week and yes, I will be trying to make progress on some of my projects before I write the next blog. Have a great week and remember that we all need that bit of time for ourselves.

A new start and some progress

Here it is the start of another week and of course things have been busy so that means that I haven't had quite as much time to sit and craft. I am trying my best to find bits of time to at least do a little bit of something each day.

Winter is Coming - here is a project that I started this week and am loving how it is turning out. It is going to be a relatively quick to stitch up if I can continue to focus on it.

I have got to the other side of the piece already and I think I have about another 9 or 10 rows of stitching to do to get to the top of the pattern. It is a lot of run and I have been enjoying how quickly it works up. There are four in the series so I would like to see if I can get them all stitched up so that I can change them up on a board that we have near our front door.

Diagonal Garter Shawl - this piece got a bit of attention this week especially when I decided it was time to try and do the 30 minutes of knitting each day again. The good part of this shawl is I have finished the first ball of yarn and now I am working on getting the second ball of yarn done. I think I should be close to having the entire length of the shawl done by the time I finish the second ball of yarn and then there is just the decrease that I will have to do.

This project is a great one to pick up and work on when I am watching a webinar or when I just need those few minutes of recharge between doing some of the other projects that need my attention throughout the day.

I am not sure how quickly I will get this project done because it will depend on how much of it I can do now that the weather is warming up here. I may try and work on it sitting on our balcony because I think that might help me get it done a little faster.

Other projects - I have been trying to work on my English Paper piecing as well this past week and have made a bit of progress on it as well.

With the weather warming up here and it is getting hot in the apartment I am not sure how much crafting I will be able to get done but I will continue to try and move things forward. I am going to need to figure out which projects will be the ones that also get worked on while sitting on the balcony.

I hope everyone is having a good week and you find that bit of time to do something that you enjoy each day. Next week, I hope to have some more progress to show you on things but that will just depend on how much time I have as this week looks like it is going to be a very busy week.

A bit of progress

This past week was another one of those weeks where there were things that took my time so I didn't have a lot of time to move things forward. I did find little bits of time which was good so that was important.  Now to see what this week is like and maybe I will see progress on some things.

Pandemic - here is a piece that came out for a bit of attention and I am happy with what I got done. I decided to try and find out some little sections to see how it went. I even had to scroll the piece down some to work on filling in an area.

I am not sure if this piece will continue to be my focus again this coming week or not but at least I know that I moved it forward a bit.

Diagonal Garter Shawl - this piece did get some attention as it is something that I can pick up and work on for a few minutes and I can get some progress done on it.

I have a long way to go before I have this piece finished but at least seeing that I can add a few rows in at a time helps a lot. I have some webinars that I am going to be doing this week so maybe this will be the project that I pick up and work on. It would be nice to continue to move this forward especially right now when it isn't too hot out.

Baby sets - I did work on the baby sets for a little while on Saturday but not enough to really have much to show. Hopefully over the next couple of weeks I will be able to get back to working on those sets as well.
The baby sets are great when I just want to pick up something and see some quick progress. The mittens don't take me long to knit so maybe that is something that I should try and do a bit of this week as well. They help me also get the 30 minutes of knitting done that I have been trying to accomplish.

English Paper Piecing - here is something that once again got some attention over the weekend. I picked up a project that I started in 2020 and it's been sitting without any attention until this weekend.  It feels so good just seeing that I have been able to move it forward and hopefully before the end of the month I will be able to make more progress on it.

Other projects - I haven't had a lot of time to work on other projects but at least I have been finding those bits of time I have got something achieved.

I hope everyone continues to find that bit of time for themselves each day. It doesn't have to be long but even finding 10 minutes to write in a journal or read makes such a difference. Making sure that we can find that time to recharge our personal batteries is important.

Hope everyone has a good week and maybe next week I will have some more progress on some projects, but I will just have to wait and see. Until then, have a good week and do something that you enjoy doing.

A finish and some progress

Here it is another week has flown by and it's time to show what I was able to work on over the last week. This last week was a busy week for me so there wasn't a lot of time to work on my crafts but at least I was able to find some time and get a few things moved forward.

This coming week I hope to be able to spend a bit of time working on a project or two and see what that goes. It would be nice to see some progress on things, but I will have to see how things go.

Elizabeth Garrod - this project got the cross stitch attention and it didn't take me very long to be able to say that I got it done. Yes, there is another finish for me, and it makes me very happy. I love how this piece turned out and I was able to get it finished within a month.

I started this piece on May 4th and finished it on June 2nd. I haven't decided what I am going to work on next. There are a few projects that I want to see if I can get moved forward so maybe one of them will make an appearance this week.

Diagonal Garter Shawl - on Saturday I decided it was time to pull this project out again and try and make a bit of progress on it. I haven't picked this up since April so figured maybe it was time to see what I could get done on the piece.

This project is very easy to do as it is just garter stitch so it means that when you pick it up it can go quickly. On Saturday when I picked it up, I was still doing the increases for the first section of the shawl, and I wanted to see if I could get that done so that I would be on the main part of the shawl which is the easiest part of work on.

I am happy to say that after I worked on the shawl for a while on Saturday, I was able to get the rest of the increase rows done and am now working on the main section of the shawl. Now what I need to do is knit the main section until the longest edge is 60 inches so that is going to take some time.

This project is going to get a bit more attention now as it is something that is easy to work on and I can do this either while watching webinars for work or while sitting on the balcony when the weather is warm.

Baby sets - the baby sets did get some attention this week and one of the things that I did was finish sewing the mittens together and adding the ties to them all.

I now have four sets completed and another two sets on the go. The grey set hopefully will be finished soon as I just need to finish off the hat and then it's done.  Of course, I still have lots of sports weight yarn so I am trying to figure out some of the other projects that I would like to work on using it so that I can continue to make things as well as use up some of the yarn that I have around.

Other projects - I have been working on my English Paper Piecing which made me feel good and I did make some good progress on it this weekend. Hopefully by the end of the month I will have some really good progress to show you on those projects.

I hope everyone is finding that bit of time each day to do something for yourself. It doesn't have to be a long time but making sure that you can recharge your personal batteries is very important.

This week I have a few things that I need to get done and then I will be working on spending some time trying to see a bit of progress on at least a couple of my craft projects. Until next week have a great week and I will see what I can get done and show you next Monday.

English Paper Piecing - May progress

Here it is another month has gone by and it is now time to look at what I was able to get accomplished with regards to the motifs and throws during May. For me, May was a busy month so there wasn't a lot of time where I focused on getting motifs made or joined to a throw.

Large Motifs - the good news is I was able to get 8 more of the large motifs made and I am now getting closer to having a finish on at least getting all the motifs made. What I am going to do in June is look at the motifs that need to get made and see if I can get some more of them finished up.

I do need to get back to joining the large motifs together and if the weather cooperates, I might be able to get some of them added to the throw.

Small Motifs - now that I am sitting and looking at the pictures for May, I realized that I really didn't get much done.

I am continuing to work on getting more of the scrap motifs finished up so that I can then focus on joining them all together. This month I at least was able to get a few made and now to see if I can continue to make motifs in June. I do know that the small motifs are easy to work on so now I just need to get back to making them instead of looking at the bin and thinking I will do it another day.

Scrap throw - I was able to add a few more motifs to this project in May so it did get a bit of attention. It wasn't a lot of attention but at least I was able to add another 8 motifs to the overall project. Now what I need to do is try and add more motifs to this project as well as I know that I have a long way to go before this project is going to be large enough.

The bag of scrap motifs is rather large now so that means that I need to focus on getting more of the motifs joined together. For the scrap throw I have determined the size of the final project and it is going to be just over 1,000 motifs and currently there is less than 100 motifs on the throw.

English Paper Piecing - it is amazing when I write this blog entry each month and I can see what I have or haven't done in the last month. This last month was one of those months that I didn't see a lot of motifs made or joined to a project. What I need to do now is to try and focus on moving these projects forward again because the only way I can work on the new projects is to get these projects done.

The one project that hasn't seen any attention so far this year is the first throw that I was able to get joined together. I started working on getting it quilted but now it's been sitting. Hopefully over the next couple of months I can pick it up and get this project closer to a finish.

If you are making motifs or joining motifs together, I hope that you are seeing progress. Next month I hope to have a bit more progress on these projects, but time and weather will determine what I get done.  Have a good month, and I will see you at the beginning of July.
