A very busy week

Here it is a start of another week and maybe a week when I will be able to spend more than a few minutes each day doing things that I love doing. This past week has been very busy, including getting a cortisone shot in my right thumb to solve that problem that I had a couple of months ago. Hopefully now the thumb will get better, and I will be able to enjoy doing things that I love doing again.

Mug Rugs and Face Scrubbies - so this week given I didn't have a lot of time to craft I decided that knitting was going to be the thing that got my attention and that is what I worked on. The mug rugs are nice and quick to make and then with the remaining cotton that I have had from the various dishcloths I have found a pattern that I can make face scrubbies. It is such a great way to use up the remaining yarn, and I have been having some fun making these small projects. I still need to sew the ends in before I can say these projects are finished.

These projects are also very good when it is hot out, and we are sitting on the balcony because I don't need a pattern and the cotton is easy to work with. This might be something that I will continue to work on over the summer, as having some of these items will make me happy.

Other projects - this past week, I didn't have a lot of time or energy to work on any other projects, but will see what this week is like. I am thinking that maybe I will be able to find some time to work on some of the other things that I also want to move forward, so will just have to see how the week goes.

I hope everyone has a good week, and you also find even those few minutes each day to do something that makes you happy and helps you recharge your own personal batteries, as well as helps you regain your focus. I hope to have more to show you next, but only time will tell.

Making progress and a finish

Here it is the start of another week, and I can actually say that I am happy with the progress that I have been able to make on things this week.

Pandemic - here is the project that got some attention again this week. I am happy with the progress that I was able to do. I continue to work on getting sections outlined so that they are ready for some items to be stitched inside.

Over the weekend I did work on getting some area all completed and given it was almost full coverage it took quite a while to complete, but the two deer and a dog have appeared. I will now see what I do this week, as I am not sure if I will continue to do more outlines or if I will do some filling in on some areas.

Please Knock Hard  - this is a project that I started and finished this week because it was nice and small. This is going to be finished into something that we can hang on our unit door when we are expecting a delivery. When you live in an apartment or condo, there are times you aren't sure if someone is knocking on your door or another door.

This is a chart that I quickly designed a while ago, and I finally sat down and got it stitched. Now I just need to finish it into something that will hang on the door. I did add the unit number to the piece because I wanted to ensure that someone doesn't walk off with it to use on their door.

Other projects - I worked a little on my English Paper piecing this week, but it was just sewing some seams on the throw, so nothing looks different. I will see what I can get done this week, as it would at least be nice to get a few more motifs made, so that might be something that I try and do again this week.

I hope everyone is finding those bits of time each day to take some time for yourself and do something that you enjoy. I know that I have found that even those 15 or 20 minutes can make such a difference. Hope everyone has a good week and hopefully next week I will have something to show you.

A bit of progress during a crazy week

Here it is, the start of another week, and hopefully one that is a little calmer than the last week has been. Last week was very busy with conferences and work, so the crafting time was very limited, but at least I was able to get a bit of crafting in.

This week I know that it is going to be busy again, but maybe I will be able to find bits of time to get a bit more crafting in, but I will have to wait and see.

Pandemic - I am continuing to work on this piece and have been enjoying working on getting more of the sections at least outlined. I have had to scroll the frame up a bit more to continue with the sections, and even with all of this outlining that I have done, I still haven't reached the middle of the total piece. I am looking forward to seeing that I have at least got the outline done for half of the piece, but there is still quite a bit of work to go.

Mug Rugs - here is a project that I found a lot of fun to work on this week, and it was knitting a couple of mug rugs out of cotton yarn. I am working on using up some of the cotton yarn that I have, and I have been finding different things that I can make, especially when I only have a part ball of yarn. The mug rugs work up quickly, and they are also something that I can just put in a couple of rows and I see progress.

The mug rugs have been a great project for when I am working, and I am waiting for an answer and I know I have a couple of minutes, so I pick it up and work on it and at least see progress. I will see how many more of these I make as I will continue to see which yarns I have that won't work on a dishcloth but will work great for one of these.

English paper piecing - this last week I was able to sit and work on getting a few more of the large motifs made for the throws. The motifs don't take long to do, but it is just a matter of sitting and working on them.

This is a project that I am going to try and continue to work on as I would like to get all the motifs finished for this throw and then get them all sewn together and that will be the second top of the throws completed out of four.

Other projects - over the last week I didn't have a lot of time to work on other things, but at least I know that I did get a bit of progress on some stuff, which makes me feel good.

I continue to try and find those few minutes each day to do something that makes me happy, and it makes me happy. I hope you are also able to find those bits of time for yourself. I hope that I will be able to have some progress on things next week, but only time will tell. Hopefully you will have a good week and find those bits of time to do something that you love doing.

Making some progress this week

Here it is the start of another week and I have been trying to spend some time each day working on different projects. The weather here has continued to be a roller coaster, and we had a couple of very hot days, and then it turned, and we are back to the cooler weather so that means I can spend some time crafting.

Pandemic - so here is the project that I have been working on this week. I have decided that instead of working on one section of the design, I was going to work on getting more of the outlines of the sections done.

There are so many sections that I would like to get some stitches done, and that is what I have been trying to do. I know that just working on this piece is making me happy, and I will see how things go moving forward. I have at least been able to get to the other side of the piece this week, so will see what I can do this week.

This past week I was able to put in around 1,600 stitches on this piece, and it makes me feel very good. I know that just continuing to get some stitches in each week would make me happy, so will see how it goes. I am not sure how much stitching I will get done this coming week as I have a lot of other things that need my attention, but will see what I can get done.

Dishcloth and mug rug - so this week I was able to finish off a dishcloth that I was knitting, and I even made a mug rug. I have lots of bits of cotton yarn so decided to see how much yarn a mug rug took and maybe that is what I will be making to finish up those odd bits of yarn. I still haven't figured out how much they take, so that is something that I am going to be trying to do this coming week.

The mug rug was a lot of fun to knit and that is what I worked on yesterday, and it didn't take me very long at all to get it done and now to just see how much yarn it takes and then decide if I have enough leftover cotton to make a few more of these rugs.

Other projects - I haven't been working on much of the other projects, so will see what I can get done this week. I would like to see some things achieved, so will see what happens. I know that this week is pretty busy, so will see what I can get done.

I hope everyone continues to find that bit of time each day to do something that makes you happy. I know that I have felt good sitting and working on things, even when I have just a few minutes to do something. This week I will see what I can get done and hopefully next week I will have some progress on something that I can show you.
