Making some good progress

It is hard to believe, but another week has come and gone, and of course it means that it is time for me to look at my projects that I worked on and see how much progress I was able to make on them.

Work has also been busy, so that means that I haven't been able to focus as much on my projects, but at least I have found some time to do some stitching.

Magic of Books - here is the project that I decided to pick up and work on this week, and I was able to make some progress on it. There is a rather large section of black that needs to be completed, so I decided that I would work on it diagonally. I am not sure if that helped me stitch more, but in three days I got just under 800 stitches completed.

This week I hope that I can spend some more time working on this piece as I would like to see more of the black area completed. I am thinking that if I can get some more of the black section done, then I might want to focus on getting this piece moved forward.

Pine Forest Baby Blanket - I am continuing to work on this project and am happy with the progress that I have been able to make on it. I continue to try and get at least 4 rows done on this each day because then I get one pattern completed. I hope that this week I can get more rows done, as it is making me feel good seeing that I am moving this project forward. I have completed the first ball of yarn, and I am thinking that if things go well I might be able to finish the second ball of yarn within the next couple of weeks. I have 22 of the 54 patterns completed, so will see what I can get done this week.

Other projects - I am trying to continue to work on some other projects a bit at a time, and of course little bits of progress get made. I have been trying to work on my English Paper piecing but haven't been able to focus on it, so haven't made a lot of progress on it over the last little while. I am thinking that it might be a project that I need to pick up and work on soon.

I hope everyone continues to find a bit of time each day to do something for yourself. I am finding that I feel so much better when I have taken even 15 minutes to do something that I enjoy.

If things go well this week, I hope to have some progress on at least a couple of things to how you next week. Have a good week and I will show you want I have worked on next week.

Some progress but putting it away for a while

Here it is the start of another week and hopefully things will continue to get into a routine that we like doing. Of course, life is busy again so that means that there isn't as much time for crafting so of course progress has started to slow down. The warm weather is also meaning that I don't have as much energy to sit and work on projects.

Alzheimer's Poem - here is the project that I have been trying to work on, and after this past week I decided that I need to take a break from it. I would love to have it done quickly, and I think trying to do 100 stitches on it each day has been a little much.

This project will be put away for a little while so that I can make progress on some other things and enjoy stitching. Yes, I have been enjoying working on this piece in a lot of ways, but it is also difficult to work on as it brings back a lot of memories.

I will continue to work on this project, but not at the speed I thought I could do. Yes, it would have been great to have it finished before the end of this month, but not when it was difficult to work on. I have got just over 1,900 stitches done on it since I picked it up at the beginning of July, so I am happy with that. Hopefully, after taking a bit of a break, I will be able to pick it up again and get it finished.

Pine Forest Baby Blanket - over the last week I have continued to work on the baby blanket and I have been able to get 4 rows done each day on it. I love being able to continue to get this knitting done.

Of course, now that it is getting warmer here, it is a little harder to get a lot of knitting done, but I am thinking that if I can at least get the four rows done a day I will see this project done quickly.

Other projects - I am trying to work on some other projects a bit at a time, so that means that bits of things get done, but nothing that is worth showing. Maybe this coming week I will be able to spend some time working on some projects and will have some different things to show.

I hope everyone continues to find that bit of time each day to do something for yourself. It doesn't matter what you do, as long as you remember that taking those few minutes each day is important. I will see what I work on this week and hopefully next week I will have things to show you.

Made some good progress

Here it is the start of another week and now to see how things go. It is hard to believe that it is now almost the middle of July and things are once again very hot out.

For a lot of us, things are sort of normal, or at least what normal is going to be for a while.

Alzheimer's Poem - here is the project that I am working on to get finished before the end of July. It felt good getting more of the words added to the poem during the last week.

I haven't been working on the poem in order, and it has made it a lot of fun to work on. I have sometimes worked on a word in a row, or a couple of times I did work on the entire line. In some ways it is helping me figure out the entire size of the project as now I have the bottom of the piece stitched. I am now just filling in the remainder of the words, and hopefully I will have that done before too long.

Each work does seem to take quite a while to stitch, even through there aren't a lot of stitches in any of the letters. I think part of the challenge is I am working on 22 count fabric, so that makes the stitches a lot smaller.

Pine Forest Baby Blanket - here is a project that I started this week as I wanted something that would work up quickly and also mean that I would have something a little larger when it is finished.

I found this baby blanket pattern, and it uses worsted weight yarn, so I figured it would work up quickly, and it has been going well so far. Now to see how much longer it will take me to finish it, as my goal is to work at least one pattern a day on this piece.

Other projects - of course I am working on some other projects as well, but again I am bouncing between a lot of them, so nothing gets a lot done on them. Hopefully I will be able to at least continue to focus on these two main projects, and then I will see what happens after this.

I hope everyone continues to find the time for themselves to do the things that they love each day. It doesn't matter how much time you spend, as long as you take those few minutes each day to yourself. Next week, I hope to have some more progress on things, but I will have to wait and see how this week goes.

Progress for the week

Here it is the start of another week and yes I am happy to say that I have been able to make some progress on a few things over the last week. Life is getting back to normal, and therefore I am figuring out a new schedule again after the last couple of years.

Pandemic - here is the project that I have been focusing on for the month of June. My goal was to try and get over 3,000 stitches done on it and by June 30th I had completed just over 3,500 stitches which made me feel good. I moved this project and was able to see areas filled in before the end of June. I am now going to work on this a bit at a time as I have figured out another project that will be getting the attention for July.

Pandemic won't be going away because I still want to make some more progress on it, but it won't be the piece that gets the attention like it was getting in June. I would like to see more of this project done before the end of the year, so will see how I can manage that.

Alzheimer's Poem - here is a project that I haven't had out for just over a year, and I decided it was time for it to return and maybe see how much I can get done on it during the month of July. This is going to be the project that I try and get 100 stitches on average done a day on it. I don't think it will take me long to finish this piece if I concentrate on it, so that is why it has finally come out again.

Over the weekend I was able to get some stitches in on it and now to see how much I can get done throughout the rest of July. It does make me happy with I can sit and work on a project and actually see results quickly on it. With this piece just being words, if I focused on a word at a time, it would move it forward quickly.

Now, let's see what it looks like by the end of the month.

English paper piecing - this last week I was able to focus on getting some more of the large motifs made for the second throw that I am going to be working on. I now have 24 more motifs to made and then join most of them together for the throw. It felt good getting this many done in one week, so now to see when the rest of the motifs will get completed.

Other projects - I have started to work on some other projects, but again there isn't much to show. I worked on these three projects mostly, and the other things just got bits of attention when I had those few minutes.

I hope everyone continues to find those bits of time each day to do something that you love doing. Life is starting to get back to a routine now, so that means we will have to make sure that we continue to try and take that bit of time each day. This week I will continue to see if I can get some stitching in on the Alzheimer's Poem, and other than that I am not sure what will get worked on.

Have a good week, and hopefully I will have some more progress to show you next week.
