It is going to be a busy week so now to focus on at least making some progress on things.<p></p><p>This last week I was able to spend some time stitching and I am happy with the overall progress that I was able to make on the projects that I picked up.</p><p><b>Sheltie</b> - here is one of my old starts that I wanted to see if I could get it moved forward this week because it has been sitting around for a very long time.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjufKP8Hs_9fGGEXSm8hIN2cauPWFRPq9Do8533UEaMXFc8rF1Q8ugPCkVTwo493YBfvTaYRaeIt0mCqAsSrux-kJEZVoBJj1_DRJEW_rM6F0a1K2ghxuVJdxjYfqEgVIwBzBljquPbuHvuw8t9KSZU1RX7LT6zvnUIHAGl-E2zWVVxhDQTdD5k1NJCF4/s589/March%2012%20finished.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="524" data-original-width="589" height="285" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjufKP8Hs_9fGGEXSm8hIN2cauPWFRPq9Do8533UEaMXFc8rF1Q8ugPCkVTwo493YBfvTaYRaeIt0mCqAsSrux-kJEZVoBJj1_DRJEW_rM6F0a1K2ghxuVJdxjYfqEgVIwBzBljquPbuHvuw8t9KSZU1RX7LT6zvnUIHAGl-E2zWVVxhDQTdD5k1NJCF4/s320/March%2012%20finished.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>This piece was only around 40 x 60 stitches, so it didn't take me long once I was able to pick it up and focus on it. It felt great being able to get this piece done so that is another project that was started years ago off my list of projects to do. <p></p><p>I do have another project similar to this, but it is going to wait for a while. It feels great being able to continue to get more of the projects out and finally completed so now to see what happens and how I am going to finish this piece.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiE4OGEgrpYmd2XITnVYhTzgECVKeQkuzI417AKbyA_G6HQic6L8X4vUaahi1GeAb-E54DII_H37a1yc9WXPArhpxZPNGVKxg6OoD_Ss0RKse4clfBC-QkX_D2wnecBRAFjVCwiLx9SmekVC03FBLlONFtYEa8rJKJaKGzzAoeAqtOJwT3qgUuZexeIpLk/s482/bluebird%20-%20June%2013.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="327" data-original-width="482" height="217" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiE4OGEgrpYmd2XITnVYhTzgECVKeQkuzI417AKbyA_G6HQic6L8X4vUaahi1GeAb-E54DII_H37a1yc9WXPArhpxZPNGVKxg6OoD_Ss0RKse4clfBC-QkX_D2wnecBRAFjVCwiLx9SmekVC03FBLlONFtYEa8rJKJaKGzzAoeAqtOJwT3qgUuZexeIpLk/s320/bluebird%20-%20June%2013.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><p></p><p><b>Blue bird </b>- after I finished Sheltie it was time to look through my projects and see if there was something else so that is exactly what I did.</p><p>Here is a project that I started in 2019 and figured it was time to pull it out and see if I could get it finished. The key was the part of the piece that wasn't as enjoyable to do as it was using metallic thread. I figured it wouldn't take me long to move this piece from a started to a finished project.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKFaWrCcc34YdfCRgBbyCs2aH0ykyxicTNSYFcgJHlGyKY0WrbZ7DjIw7SEg5hRlgdU_oY3zy79q1WdeEoZPbAJS7nRpQOi2jcD06WsCa-ZAu5jtHb33b6lWUiMl8mVt5AeLt_cu8U7xXb_QN2UzdkoParMDHYCcYe2xX7kPAOlLvoCBUGBwdYM9Q69sY/s499/blue%20bird%20-%20Mar%2016%2023.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="499" data-original-width="483" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKFaWrCcc34YdfCRgBbyCs2aH0ykyxicTNSYFcgJHlGyKY0WrbZ7DjIw7SEg5hRlgdU_oY3zy79q1WdeEoZPbAJS7nRpQOi2jcD06WsCa-ZAu5jtHb33b6lWUiMl8mVt5AeLt_cu8U7xXb_QN2UzdkoParMDHYCcYe2xX7kPAOlLvoCBUGBwdYM9Q69sY/s320/blue%20bird%20-%20Mar%2016%2023.jpg" width="310" /></a></div>The bird was a lot of fun to stitch, and it didn't take long to get it all done so that was great. It was only two colours of thread for the entire project so that made it easy to do. I am not certain why I didn't get this piece finished before now but at least it is now finished and that makes me feel so much better.<p></p><p>There are two more birds in this series but once again as they aren't started yet I am going to wait and work on them later on. Currently I am trying to move things forward so will see how that goes.</p><p>This Blue Bird is by Wild Violet and now I just need to figure out how I am going to finish it but that will wait until I am in a finishing mood.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9TJnO-qdAAGMuFrMLYfUAfiGA7xOMg1MfBsu6HNsr_r77T2Jtm9cyTFMhzAJMgIDn-SFd2_oi9Q4ijnlYl9rbjSFzKomF2rNOTMgjcydMJbRkWkkRTnAhQK5sY9TRvYlslOLc0eTApKLpjuX8H8BEhQkN5q1TzfY_iav0dc4vdhiexZtfagKaE1K8SkQ/s629/January%20-%20Mar%203.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="629" data-original-width="604" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9TJnO-qdAAGMuFrMLYfUAfiGA7xOMg1MfBsu6HNsr_r77T2Jtm9cyTFMhzAJMgIDn-SFd2_oi9Q4ijnlYl9rbjSFzKomF2rNOTMgjcydMJbRkWkkRTnAhQK5sY9TRvYlslOLc0eTApKLpjuX8H8BEhQkN5q1TzfY_iav0dc4vdhiexZtfagKaE1K8SkQ/s320/January%20-%20Mar%203.jpg" width="307" /></a></div><b>Star Touched Meadows Stitch Along - January</b> - between trying to move projects to a finish I knew that I needed to spend some time working on the January section of the Star Touched Meadows Stitch Along.<p></p><p>I was going to focus on this piece over the weekend but after working on the blue bird I decided that this project would get some attention. I am enjoying working on this piece when i pick it up as I can sit and work on a colour and see some good progress.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiK7qNWApu7do6vQgYXiK9hbXqSjdJJkF9KdXaP0aOdwi-UWnWoSSuVSmcgv5zYm54Mn5u8XqPtRGIfZd0qjWMAURbxnGlreLsn6OtYlkdFc97TjR_C_pwrKsaGWtKJDbHsbGzykxJ4oFuKyUDlqJnmXTwaILvh8tH8Lu9q8gqAybA39RU-8-c3ByqBtJg/s618/January%20-%20Mar%2017.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="618" data-original-width="604" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiK7qNWApu7do6vQgYXiK9hbXqSjdJJkF9KdXaP0aOdwi-UWnWoSSuVSmcgv5zYm54Mn5u8XqPtRGIfZd0qjWMAURbxnGlreLsn6OtYlkdFc97TjR_C_pwrKsaGWtKJDbHsbGzykxJ4oFuKyUDlqJnmXTwaILvh8tH8Lu9q8gqAybA39RU-8-c3ByqBtJg/s320/January%20-%20Mar%2017.jpg" width="313" /></a></div>I know that I am behind on this project as the February and March patterns have been released and in a couple of weeks April will be released but it doesn't bother me. When I started this project, I figured I wouldn't be keeping up with it because I also want to work on other projects as well.<p></p><p>It does feel good having a project that I can pick up and work on it for a little bit and actually see progress on it. I am going to see if I pick this up again this week because it would be nice to add some more colours to the piece. I am trying to work on the bottom section of the design so that I can at least get some of the white done on the piece instead of leaving it all to the end. </p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvBpeZEBzVYNxh7WVmW0Rmz8pBI2yOiaaKHp1lmRC9BNoyGUG7sSaewNWamlfpas49heLEaUv17h_k2lm7NCH7QCHNJOawTtUaNYWKGmdZ-1GRQhQ52ImehxFNwsZdKtNvUUo_Ym98Bxw-zaIKWwDoEzXBadZpYTKwPTV_bsHOAAv5amaRZne-Yd4mByU/s685/July%2017%2022.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="651" data-original-width="685" height="304" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvBpeZEBzVYNxh7WVmW0Rmz8pBI2yOiaaKHp1lmRC9BNoyGUG7sSaewNWamlfpas49heLEaUv17h_k2lm7NCH7QCHNJOawTtUaNYWKGmdZ-1GRQhQ52ImehxFNwsZdKtNvUUo_Ym98Bxw-zaIKWwDoEzXBadZpYTKwPTV_bsHOAAv5amaRZne-Yd4mByU/s320/July%2017%2022.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><b>Alzheimer's Poem</b> - here is another project that was started quite a while ago. This project was started in 2020 and it didn't get any love in 2023 so I figured it was time to pull it out and maybe work on it to see if I could get it done.<p></p><p>I charted this poem myself after seeing the poem as a poster. It said a lot of the things that we were feeling at the time I started it, so I felt I needed to stitch it. We are still feeling those feelings now and I would like to see if I can get this piece finished before to long.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFsr9Q3_0QdtijXRDscLWsOYZD9Jlw2swFBs7F89LSN6eG7Achqjf-3oGd8HzoiUDOebLJPz0EJao2qAyKL-pIMD-fCLtEYnHJ9rf3c0zhXAavZcuWDHv7-oVK_-IcscAf5WxpNj3I4ZIT6TXqmsudbVnL1SpPA6M_fZXUoqk1pLCxMi_psyZ961L25fE/s699/Mar%2017%2023.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="665" data-original-width="699" height="304" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFsr9Q3_0QdtijXRDscLWsOYZD9Jlw2swFBs7F89LSN6eG7Achqjf-3oGd8HzoiUDOebLJPz0EJao2qAyKL-pIMD-fCLtEYnHJ9rf3c0zhXAavZcuWDHv7-oVK_-IcscAf5WxpNj3I4ZIT6TXqmsudbVnL1SpPA6M_fZXUoqk1pLCxMi_psyZ961L25fE/s320/Mar%2017%2023.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>To complete this piece, I just need to finish all the last two sections and then the piece will be finished. I am going to see if I can focus on this piece this coming week to move it closer to a finish.<p></p><p>You may think that stitching words work up quicky but when you have to stop and start your thread between each word it does take some time. Also, this is on 22 count fabric so it takes a bit more focus given I am going it over 1 thread.</p><p>Let's see what I can get done on this project this week. I will try and continue to add more stitches to it each day as I would love to have it done before too long.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtFvOTLmMpm5oSrmrp5fTSGCVxMZA_PWkPNiv0oS70H5YyMmAVbBUrF9cz2V-x7TYQsUFun4cQ84t1S874VnX2glgLEKG8VO2gS3Mb-J9cK1_GUq2PHIF1zPXnEkd8Q-JhaHJAHjlmU3Tyw6qRQSuFA1mJPnrFE0pKhYPyhpvCkgdPkbVfnwabPuPBkSk/s4000/Asymmetrical%20-%20Mar%2010.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4000" data-original-width="3000" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtFvOTLmMpm5oSrmrp5fTSGCVxMZA_PWkPNiv0oS70H5YyMmAVbBUrF9cz2V-x7TYQsUFun4cQ84t1S874VnX2glgLEKG8VO2gS3Mb-J9cK1_GUq2PHIF1zPXnEkd8Q-JhaHJAHjlmU3Tyw6qRQSuFA1mJPnrFE0pKhYPyhpvCkgdPkbVfnwabPuPBkSk/s320/Asymmetrical%20-%20Mar%2010.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><b>Asymmetrical Lace Knit Shawl </b>- my knitting did get some attention this week as I was getting closer to a finish, and I wanted to see if I could get it finished.<p></p><p>Of course, there were days when reading the pattern just didn't work as well as I liked, and it meant taking rows out a couple of times. It became my goal of when I was having a good knitting day to try and get as many rows done as I could. By the time we got to the weekend I have three rows left to knit and then the cast off, so I was determined to get it finished.</p><p>The shawl is now finished, and all the ends are sewn in so that means that there is another knitting project off the list of projects that I wanted to do.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQ15tBOnAdetaol5aLniK8d3682E70gmXxJRxlDwKns3jqyK3_3ctin6tAeAfbMVl6WW9wW2VydEx25rSWu-CrAxpivKWn9Ne4JBtb9ORTx-m1WK_yarzC_c8Ff74hNKFyPn7wBX4se6wiv9EI2qd7gtg5WpQU-vcO-BPRp6ADHO44SXHhy95bhweXt6g/s747/Asymmetrical%20-%20Mar%2017.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="709" data-original-width="747" height="304" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQ15tBOnAdetaol5aLniK8d3682E70gmXxJRxlDwKns3jqyK3_3ctin6tAeAfbMVl6WW9wW2VydEx25rSWu-CrAxpivKWn9Ne4JBtb9ORTx-m1WK_yarzC_c8Ff74hNKFyPn7wBX4se6wiv9EI2qd7gtg5WpQU-vcO-BPRp6ADHO44SXHhy95bhweXt6g/s320/Asymmetrical%20-%20Mar%2017.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>I am going to see what project I pull out next because I don't have a project that is currently on the go that I want to work on. Last this week I do a Mystery Knit Along that I hope to start but will see how that goes. Before I post any pictures of this shawl, I will have to see what the rules are regarding doing that. I have never done a Mystery Knit Along, so I figured it was time to try and do something a little different.<p></p><p><b>Other projects</b> - I have been working on my English Paper Piecing this last week so that is something else that has got some attention.</p><p>This coming week I am not certain what will get the attention other than the Alzheimer's Poem as I would like to get that piece closer to a finish.</p><p>I hope everyone is having a good time and you are finding time to do the things that you enjoy doing. It doesn't have to be major projects and for long times each day. Making sure that you are finding that time where you can relax and recharge your own personal battery is the important thing.</p><p>Hope everyone has a good week and hopefully I will have a bit of progress on things to show you next week. <br /> </p>Darlenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08188547071790224737noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5000606572910301095.post-1125397606495476692024-03-11T08:42:00.002-04:002024-03-11T10:40:11.710-04:00Making some progress<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2sRbbMJioU9Q7llL8RvnzD_JsMo4tvWWiHO29w9OaoimF7KKT1VWW_up2VK_6chQ6hx02gIA5n7mBRas5FHzjFRj5CQzcSvA6Tp_awEEzVxi7_wAZWsFEDSpL_X52yfb0XT_mDSCDL5jlD028l2kxl9XKvv31EQV0QvqtScLAYj3xFinAIHz_wcpqkHc/s668/March%2010.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="523" data-original-width="668" height="251" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2sRbbMJioU9Q7llL8RvnzD_JsMo4tvWWiHO29w9OaoimF7KKT1VWW_up2VK_6chQ6hx02gIA5n7mBRas5FHzjFRj5CQzcSvA6Tp_awEEzVxi7_wAZWsFEDSpL_X52yfb0XT_mDSCDL5jlD028l2kxl9XKvv31EQV0QvqtScLAYj3xFinAIHz_wcpqkHc/s320/March%2010.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>Here it is the start of another week, and it is hard to believe it is already March 11th. This month is flying by and hopefully soon we will have the weather that says it's spring.<div><br /></div><div>I have been able to spend some time working on my crafting this week and have made some progress on things. Now to see if I can continue to move the various projects forward.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Sheltie </b>- here is another one of those projects that was started years ago, and it is finally getting moved forward. Before I picked it up this week, I only had a little bit of the black just behind the mouth section done. The project is getting moved forward but I have come to realize how much I enjoy using Pattern Keeper when I am stitching. This pattern is a paper pattern that I couldn't get into Pattern Keeper, so it is slower progress than I am normally able to do. This pattern means that I have to keep looking to see where I am instead of quickly seeing where the next stitch goes.</div><div><br /></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCTp6zSi0X2aktXmpj1z24Gu9apfRRE5XannuYAtDu4oWmDwpWqNtXINgv5CPKfF-mgz3LmKzYUeYovKZE0tzHcOgd3t1cSEqLgjnDIo8qJgf5JkzfA5zVw8Zrc1XPnL5dYM-D3VwClDb59Ak0tkQLgFYroNmXXU8cNuIJddNDCnwVamYZgMgtRT-j5mo/s830/Asymmetrical%20-%20Mar%203.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="830" data-original-width="683" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCTp6zSi0X2aktXmpj1z24Gu9apfRRE5XannuYAtDu4oWmDwpWqNtXINgv5CPKfF-mgz3LmKzYUeYovKZE0tzHcOgd3t1cSEqLgjnDIo8qJgf5JkzfA5zVw8Zrc1XPnL5dYM-D3VwClDb59Ak0tkQLgFYroNmXXU8cNuIJddNDCnwVamYZgMgtRT-j5mo/s320/Asymmetrical%20-%20Mar%203.jpg" width="263" /></a></div><b>Asymmetrical Lace Knit Shawl</b> - here is the knitting project that I have been working on and yes, this week I was able to make a bit more progress on it. The lace section of this shawl is a lot of fun to work on once you get into it. I had a few challenges at first reading the pattern but then I realized what the issue was and now things are moving forward pretty well. </div><div><br /></div><div>This week I am going to be trying to see if I can get closer to finishing this shawl as it would be nice to see another project finished up quickly. Basically, each bin contained pieces of fabric and you didn't know what you were getting until you had purchased the bin so that was a lot of fun. Quite a few of these colours aren't colours that I would normally purchase so instead of just putting these fabrics aside I ended I was going to challenge myself to work with all these fabrics and see what I can make with them.<br /> </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtj-sd4jDiOKSn-q5fK-Ai1MbDo-eomRvfEltclbtCXODnO9O-CrquHuK0LEEAV5S_HGeyaRr5WZIvNZwpiVc5CiTw6m2JkYOLzHcPWLfzSLcO64M7U1D1c6zlE3pUREzpEXwQD4XfpUVekObmbl7s85kox-KTIeLEdPuo5XRW4RauSVzP7-jGpRPV9GQ/s772/february%20new.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="637" data-original-width="772" height="264" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtj-sd4jDiOKSn-q5fK-Ai1MbDo-eomRvfEltclbtCXODnO9O-CrquHuK0LEEAV5S_HGeyaRr5WZIvNZwpiVc5CiTw6m2JkYOLzHcPWLfzSLcO64M7U1D1c6zlE3pUREzpEXwQD4XfpUVekObmbl7s85kox-KTIeLEdPuo5XRW4RauSVzP7-jGpRPV9GQ/s320/february%20new.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>I have started to cut the fabric into squares so that I can make some motifs and then see what size this project is going to be when I finish it. I guess I will just have to do some more planning and maybe see if some of the other projects can get some attention as well. It does feel good just focusing on a couple of projects instead of trying to move all of them forward at once.</div><div><br /></div><div>This coming month I hope that I can make some progress on a couple of the projects, and I will see what happens. I am still working on the increases and hopefully this week I will be able to start the pattern section of the shawl. It is fun having something that I don't need to look at a pattern for a while. <br /><br /><p></p><p>I have been trying to spend a bit of time each day working on this shawl, and I think that has helped me see some good progress on the overall project. This week I would like to once again try and add some more rows to this and get into the lace pattern. Time will tell how much of it I can get done before next weekend.</p><p><b>Other projects</b> - I haven't worked on any other projects this past week and I do know that I would like to make a bit more progress on my English Paper Piecing before I write that blog on Friday. Maybe that is going to be a focus for at least one day this week and I will see how things go after that.</p><p>I hope everyone has had a good week and you have found that bit of time each day to do something for yourself. It can be a challenge some days to get that time but at least if you can find that time most days that is what is good.</p><p>This week I have things that I need to get done so it is going to be a busy week, but I also hope that I can find some time to sit and recharge my own personal batteries by picking up one of my craft projects and work on it for a little while.</p><p><br /></p>Darlenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08188547071790224737noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5000606572910301095.post-30001001040660080352024-02-19T08:49:00.001-05:002024-02-19T08:49:18.859-05:002 finishes and some good progress<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgccTRmbdCrv7ko_L4JGf7I5liqFzZ4mUr1o-N5VwCeGx6uafUC9ckyasN6eyj3dQLUGPfvy1BrZlV1MsDdugDFONnm0S9pFklu1VDnjuvruUjWYlWWUvnJlN47aU6kTcH69doWKCHWx4gDHL9C49f80WtUOiCKdp0qqiXW4FJjZzKc87C6p8ZmuV4KCE0/s577/December%20-%20Feb%2011.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="576" data-original-width="577" height="319" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgccTRmbdCrv7ko_L4JGf7I5liqFzZ4mUr1o-N5VwCeGx6uafUC9ckyasN6eyj3dQLUGPfvy1BrZlV1MsDdugDFONnm0S9pFklu1VDnjuvruUjWYlWWUvnJlN47aU6kTcH69doWKCHWx4gDHL9C49f80WtUOiCKdp0qqiXW4FJjZzKc87C6p8ZmuV4KCE0/s320/December%20-%20Feb%2011.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>Here it is the start of another week and for us the winter cold is back, and it might be here for a little while. I hope that it warms up a bit because I am getting tried of the cold weather. We did have snow this week but not much at all.<p></p><p>Hopefully we will start to warm up just a little bit so that we can enjoy going for walks outside. This is a project that I started quite a few years ago and figured it was time to pull it out and see how much I could get done. I had started to cast off the shawl before the beginning of the week, so it just meant spending some time working on getting the rest of the stitches off the needle. <p></p><p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj79S2iy9UTeEdIBlAnmgUDDmuz8xr4jywD78JECTD4pwXgQVFdy-yVOVl3k0_F6rS6f8SsQsXaYS4-cb_uD_MTG5A3P-Czu4cArNLdKQb4j9qqszv1_BlUABmNJ1qXomx2C_JvK6OsR1vpdm_M4xBNcA96anym1rIwD-J6lK3Bo-Q-nuPZUumns9ltiVc/s750/Beach%20haven%20Feb%2012%20finished.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="589" data-original-width="750" height="251" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj79S2iy9UTeEdIBlAnmgUDDmuz8xr4jywD78JECTD4pwXgQVFdy-yVOVl3k0_F6rS6f8SsQsXaYS4-cb_uD_MTG5A3P-Czu4cArNLdKQb4j9qqszv1_BlUABmNJ1qXomx2C_JvK6OsR1vpdm_M4xBNcA96anym1rIwD-J6lK3Bo-Q-nuPZUumns9ltiVc/s320/Beach%20haven%20Feb%2012%20finished.jpg" width="320" /></a>I am happy with how this shawl turned out and I had given myself to the middle of March to get it done and I was able to get it done by the middle of February so that made me feel really good. The only thing that is left to do is to block it a bit so that the edge lays nice and flat. Of course, after finishing the shawl it was time to figure out the next project that I was going to put on my knitting needles and it didn't take me long to do that.<br /><br /><b>Asymmetrical Lace Knit Shawl</b> - here is a new project that I started this week as I had some more of that yarn available and wanted to try it on a different shawl. This pattern is an easier pattern than Beach Haven as the pattern is only at the top of the shawl so that makes the initial section of knitting easy to do.<br /><br /></p><p>I am looking forward to working on this shawl and hopefully it will knit up quickly. Seeing that I have been able to get a bit of kitting done most days is good. What I try and do is spend 30 minutes a day working on my knitting, and it seems to help me make progress on the different things. </p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2uD_49Xk3MGQb24zud7SqGDbvKS9ffDgneSdbil99e90wEXJfLniWDu11OWVMK1QJoxjMp3rUsnC6cdVVtSBo1qu4j6A6m89QKIVP253hJ0RKUZxuLkZ7WQk8X6tFOnl2yUWtN_2nQXoZcI4UUx-rC35DI0kuJz4dYz3TjyZGhan4GKt-1BWp9kAWqgA/s931/Asymmetrical%20-%20Feb%2018.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="931" data-original-width="566" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2uD_49Xk3MGQb24zud7SqGDbvKS9ffDgneSdbil99e90wEXJfLniWDu11OWVMK1QJoxjMp3rUsnC6cdVVtSBo1qu4j6A6m89QKIVP253hJ0RKUZxuLkZ7WQk8X6tFOnl2yUWtN_2nQXoZcI4UUx-rC35DI0kuJz4dYz3TjyZGhan4GKt-1BWp9kAWqgA/s320/Asymmetrical%20-%20Feb%2018.jpg" width="195" /></a></div><b>Other projects</b> - this week I didn't work on any of the other projects that I have on the go as I was trying to keep a focus on just a couple of projects.<p></p><p>This week I am going to be trying to make some progress on my new shawl and I am not certain which cross stitch project will get most of the attention. I may try and focus on Red Rose for a little while longer, but I also want to start working on the January section of the Star Touched Meadows Stitch Along. I guess I will decide what gets the attention when I do to pick up my cross stitch this week.</p><p>I hope everyone has been able to find that bit of time where you can do something for yourself. It does make a difference because you then have the energy to be there for the ones around you.</p><p>This week I will see what I do and hopefully next week I will have some more progress to show you. I have been trying to move this forward, so that I can get it closer to finish. <p></p><p>The good news is that by Sunday evening I have started to do the cast-off on the shawl so that means that I should be able to get this shawl done before the end of this coming week. I am so happy with the progress that I have been able to make on this shawl. I have been trying to move this shawl forward and this last week I ended up spending most of my free time working on getting the rows done that I needed to get done. </p><p>I have now started the cast off edge on the shawl and given that there are 517 stitches on the needle it is going to take a bit of time to get all of them off, but I will continue to work on it a bit at a time until it is done. It is hard to believe that we are already in February. Yes, January seemed to be a long month but now that it's over it's back to getting lots of things done. After a month of lots of clouds it was nice seeing the sunshine for a while this weekend.<p></p><p>Work is keeping me busy, so I haven't had as much time to work on my crafting but at least I have been able to move a couple of projects forward.</p><p><b>Star Touched Meadows - December </b>- here is the cross stitch project that got the attention this last week. I decided it was time to see if I could at least get this piece moved forward so that was the focus.</p><p>It feels good seeing that I have been able to move this project forward and now to just get it finished. I am trying to finish sections of the piece so that I can get some more of the white stitches in instead of leaving all of them to the very end. Maybe this week I will try and put a bit of focus on adding more of the white stitches instead of just working on all of the colours.</p><p>I would like to get this section of the stitch along completed as I have received the February section so that means that I am currently two months behind. Early on in this project I figured I wouldn't be keeping up but that doesn't bother me because I know that I can work on these pieces when I have the time.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7srVAoX48OseBK8c3_bjyzSoJPKrVNwAMN8NyTwhCCCnrsYNfPj-F3xBfwqMz4MJAgM-PlPT90B15kTtwOsSVdymS1NyRVBZkZhtBMHOEngZkuSBPeE-i5uArMnhP71VtJyKYl3ZHR1ufmz0v_8bKX7EiaSLNNXPeE6ibxvIR9jtib5KGUIii-GZ1afc/s874/Beach%20haven%20Jan%2028.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="438" data-original-width="874" height="160" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7srVAoX48OseBK8c3_bjyzSoJPKrVNwAMN8NyTwhCCCnrsYNfPj-F3xBfwqMz4MJAgM-PlPT90B15kTtwOsSVdymS1NyRVBZkZhtBMHOEngZkuSBPeE-i5uArMnhP71VtJyKYl3ZHR1ufmz0v_8bKX7EiaSLNNXPeE6ibxvIR9jtib5KGUIii-GZ1afc/s320/Beach%20haven%20Jan%2028.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><b>Beach Haven Shawl</b> - here is the knitting that got all of the attention over the last week. I am very happy with the progress that I have made on this shawl.<p></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijaH8z9rvKE4wtwLSa_o80dQNpIMXlAcNTL905IfdydFQbXIu1OgZVhIpGSjOzvTASfMebS7ov3ZS5Rp_06kEKVA_EIcsm0vHOdHMaoFUP2ko0PaYUEeEeCnb4v63WPIOkxrAwSj9eNZ6vZbbUQbmGXJaiR4pPIGDwus4I-PQDRTNGKT-sjTOuK3211ok/s742/Beach%20haven%20Feb%204.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="742" data-original-width="704" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijaH8z9rvKE4wtwLSa_o80dQNpIMXlAcNTL905IfdydFQbXIu1OgZVhIpGSjOzvTASfMebS7ov3ZS5Rp_06kEKVA_EIcsm0vHOdHMaoFUP2ko0PaYUEeEeCnb4v63WPIOkxrAwSj9eNZ6vZbbUQbmGXJaiR4pPIGDwus4I-PQDRTNGKT-sjTOuK3211ok/s320/Beach%20haven%20Feb%204.jpg" width="304" /></a></div>The rows are getting a lot longer now, so it is taking me long to get reach row done. I now have 354 stitches on the needle and this week will probably have another big increase so will see how it goes. I do want to get this shawl completed soon so that is why I am trying to focus on this as much as possible.<br /><br /><b>Other projects</b> - I haven't spent time working on other projects this last week. It has felt good being able to focus on just a couple of projects and seeing that I can move both forward.<p></p><p>This week I am not sure what will get my attention other than the Beach Haven Shawl as I would like to continue to move this project forward. The stitch along will probably get some attention and other than that I am not certain what I will pull out and work on.</p><p>I hope everyone has had a good week and you continue to find the time for yourself each day. It's important that we all take that bit of time where we can recharge our own personal battery. This week I am not certain how much crafting time I will have but hope to be able to show you a bit of progress next week. Until then, have a good week and if you get some sunshine where you are making sure you enjoy a bit of time in it.</p><p><br /> </p>Darlenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08188547071790224737noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5000606572910301095.post-85748928684526523322024-02-01T08:48:00.001-05:002024-02-01T08:48:41.828-05:00English Paper Piecing - January progress<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmvygJ2dzNS5dZQ5TL5BngF-VVXTZp21gpaCckN6SDb_-oYnaEZ89f_89bmlcQW4l1btIoDA-PMV5jal1KwihqjFVdhyphenhyphenLPLW4yasFRZ4BsrOKfgCdxBkVVmRL8Xfq70wO7vCKp78lc0gLV4DkUOYgfWcDNx_Ogg4rhhY3DKfpSyL1KR8HQjl9VYGtPYKA/s707/January%20scrap%20throw.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="419" data-original-width="707" height="190" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmvygJ2dzNS5dZQ5TL5BngF-VVXTZp21gpaCckN6SDb_-oYnaEZ89f_89bmlcQW4l1btIoDA-PMV5jal1KwihqjFVdhyphenhyphenLPLW4yasFRZ4BsrOKfgCdxBkVVmRL8Xfq70wO7vCKp78lc0gLV4DkUOYgfWcDNx_Ogg4rhhY3DKfpSyL1KR8HQjl9VYGtPYKA/s320/January%20scrap%20throw.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>Here it is the end of another month and yes, I have been able to make just a bit of progress on my English Paper Piecing.<p></p><p><b>Scrap Throw </b>- this month I worked on just one project and didn't even get a lot of progress but at least I got some. I was able to spend one evening working on making some more of the motifs that I need for the border of the scrap throw so I am continuing to move this project forward. I hope to get back to joining the motifs onto the throw as I would like to move my projects forward again.</p><p><b>Other projects</b> - I haven't worked on any of the other projects for a while so that means that I need to get back to working on them again. I will just have to see how it goes and maybe I will have some progress to show you at the end of February.</p><p><br /></p><p><br /> </p>Darlenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08188547071790224737noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5000606572910301095.post-10739187934850884972024-01-29T08:36:00.004-05:002024-01-29T08:36:46.603-05:00Some good progress and a quick finish<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi88Mti7w8O7PzZd8iPtT5c4Kf0PAtjRYX0jRjJQZtTYcaEEsnFN2Bnfn61DRNPMlHQNx3o9x94XcVHHi6QC9ilsc7y82wmWKBckxKhKLAXk-YafKgOn5doLqxQPVzdRvt1uuYZMaaVhxhskujW3f1-69J_RaComn1pLhyphenhypheno7t5aBlK_30aW1roBszZuF4I/s704/December%20-%20Jan%2021.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="693" data-original-width="704" height="315" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi88Mti7w8O7PzZd8iPtT5c4Kf0PAtjRYX0jRjJQZtTYcaEEsnFN2Bnfn61DRNPMlHQNx3o9x94XcVHHi6QC9ilsc7y82wmWKBckxKhKLAXk-YafKgOn5doLqxQPVzdRvt1uuYZMaaVhxhskujW3f1-69J_RaComn1pLhyphenhypheno7t5aBlK_30aW1roBszZuF4I/s320/December%20-%20Jan%2021.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>Here it is the start of another week and yes, another week where there are going to be other demands on my time and energy. I know that work has quite a few things that I need to get done, so that means that I am going to be focusing on those.<p></p><p>This week we are finally going to be seeing some sunshine which is good because I know that I have been missing it. Now to see how much of the sun we see as I know that I will enjoy what I can even if it's just seeing it through the window.</p><p><b>Star Touched Meadows Stitch Along - December</b> - here is the project that got some attention this week as I am trying to get it finished before too long. I have started to fill in some of the white stitches at the bottom of the piece, but you cannot see them very much right now.<p></p><p>I have been working on this piece differently than I did the November piece, so I am not certain which method of stitching I like the best. Maybe what I will be doing is each of the months will be done a little differently and that is just how I am gong to be doing the projects.</p><p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkM4pVZIojlOG-Q2wWzD0VSFWgSezTRtbRsz4HPScAWSV8ZNjMtFopZqvIb4bbDSb_6vRwpvJtYE555GzOTfbhlmKSYdVH557as1MTKtPMQGbsugglPdqdKWo47kJJFSmexKxVMO6VR01GSDuuaz4KaZTGZ3lKLPOXVf1aNHEJ38clzP5ZidXAIS6RZww/s519/Jan%2028.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="519" data-original-width="487" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkM4pVZIojlOG-Q2wWzD0VSFWgSezTRtbRsz4HPScAWSV8ZNjMtFopZqvIb4bbDSb_6vRwpvJtYE555GzOTfbhlmKSYdVH557as1MTKtPMQGbsugglPdqdKWo47kJJFSmexKxVMO6VR01GSDuuaz4KaZTGZ3lKLPOXVf1aNHEJ38clzP5ZidXAIS6RZww/s320/Jan%2028.jpg" width="300" /></a><b>Christmas Mug Small</b> - here is a project that got the attention over the weekend, and it didn't take me long to have a finish. This is a little small Christmas ornament that I decided that I wanted to stitch up quickly.</p><p>This was a free pattern from Shannon Christine Designs, and it was a fun project to do. This pattern is enjoyable to work on and the number of stitches on the needle grows very quickly. Last week I started with 3 stitches and last Sunday I had 123 stitches on the needle which wasn't too bad.<p></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlz5d-1UEEV_3jShqIMjwYZXjpwqptUi5tTOAeS_xO6TSgKvRPsRP6YdST7vdLC2g9Czq13At0O0fV7DtlONuDcf29zMUetaNpdfIWxs7FOF8s8laPg508lNfHo-sV94rImNywOQ-VbpWCw1n-qzSqNZrzZ5a5nVYsRtCqMLY4wQNbpzaudByvEjpsnWY/s874/Beach%20haven%20Jan%2028.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="438" data-original-width="874" height="160" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlz5d-1UEEV_3jShqIMjwYZXjpwqptUi5tTOAeS_xO6TSgKvRPsRP6YdST7vdLC2g9Czq13At0O0fV7DtlONuDcf29zMUetaNpdfIWxs7FOF8s8laPg508lNfHo-sV94rImNywOQ-VbpWCw1n-qzSqNZrzZ5a5nVYsRtCqMLY4wQNbpzaudByvEjpsnWY/s320/Beach%20haven%20Jan%2028.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>After another week of stitching, I have 258 stitches on the needle and have to change to a circular needle because they just won't fit on the straight needle any long. By the time I finish this shawl there will be 517 stitches on this needle and I only have 60 rows left to go. It does feel good seeing the progress on this project.<p></p><p><b>Other projects</b> - well I haven't had a lot of time to work on any of the other projects, but I am happy with the progress that I have made on these items. My English Paper piecing projects have got a bit of attention which is good but again not as much as i would have liked. Hopefully soon I will get back to working on some of those items again. </p><p>I hope everyone is finding that bit of time each day to take that personal time to recharge your battery. I know that there have been says in the last week where my recharge was just sitting quietly and doing nothing at all. It was what I wanted, and it was also enjoyable.</p><p>This is the last post for January and hopefully everyone has made it through another month and yes, this one did feel very long. If things go well, I should have something to show you next week and I will write my EPP blog on Thursday. Have a great week and see you then.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><p></p>Darlenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08188547071790224737noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5000606572910301095.post-78311913375230491072024-01-22T08:45:00.000-05:002024-01-22T08:45:16.053-05:00Some progress and a new start<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzojebIvUaVflb3SYAuwbkE6iu0opqlE4Zw_6HE-MsvLfMM6Ih2Bi-InGffGhtzm6sdMrLxyIO0Q69ABRgDW-xX7m5IQxpOpM1tGX9BinPeg-mejy718gzWYHfVD-qG7SfPBLjLfyZXOHNny3FaHsUKxKh0nViUh2-tpS1DUvtlWN44RJe_Dl-p2sipQ4/s672/December%20-%20Jan%2014.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="672" data-original-width="663" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzojebIvUaVflb3SYAuwbkE6iu0opqlE4Zw_6HE-MsvLfMM6Ih2Bi-InGffGhtzm6sdMrLxyIO0Q69ABRgDW-xX7m5IQxpOpM1tGX9BinPeg-mejy718gzWYHfVD-qG7SfPBLjLfyZXOHNny3FaHsUKxKh0nViUh2-tpS1DUvtlWN44RJe_Dl-p2sipQ4/s320/December%20-%20Jan%2014.jpg" width="316" /></a></div>Here it is the start of another week, and I was able to spend some time working on the various projects that I had on the go. I also decided that I wanted to knit a shawl for myself so that was the start for this week. It felt good to see some progress on a few things this last week, but of course there were other things that took my time, so I didn't get to spend as much time as I had hoped working on the projects that I had on the go. Now to see what this week is like as I would like to see if I can make some progress on some of these projects.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLhYzGIVoWBYcVxHokGCdqazsyyj2buF0hfa2ypodbkxKwdSVwndpJdCkriBAPAmYW6f7OV-LYoSg2wvagfS1Z3onJuKokJsKSv8efzeULX1GYTTJqdaPlp3vhOYZz1wA6hewU75AAu95N225ZhAIMLTMTzsha8sWfaMROz0y3WvPPAMCqATyrQ2YFnAc/s704/December%20-%20Jan%2021.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="693" data-original-width="704" height="315" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLhYzGIVoWBYcVxHokGCdqazsyyj2buF0hfa2ypodbkxKwdSVwndpJdCkriBAPAmYW6f7OV-LYoSg2wvagfS1Z3onJuKokJsKSv8efzeULX1GYTTJqdaPlp3vhOYZz1wA6hewU75AAu95N225ZhAIMLTMTzsha8sWfaMROz0y3WvPPAMCqATyrQ2YFnAc/s320/December%20-%20Jan%2021.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><b>Star Touched Meadows Stitch Along - December</b> - well this project didn't get much attention at all this past week which doesn't help me get it finished. Hopefully now that I have done some of the other things, I might be able to move this forward. I would like to see if I can spend some time working on getting this section done so that I don't end up too far behind in the overall stitch along. I am now thinking that I will just work on these pieces as I can, and they will get done as quickly as I can do them. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGmH56nXFsRQrxePqyM9djcHQUoda8Kp8fn_jgRslY5sFFoxQhP6otPQrBiZNDU16MnR0GxppHpqlnbggEN026iqeylxj0TgI5zjbO_omL6EVgXLwkhookSFaOkN6CLkGCpwfLeCYSFwNQDR0Pv0XhgH0AHzpdGBuNhVUmlvUf_k6TKLYiEmYiqIzpvwE/s721/Dec%2024%2023.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="318" data-original-width="721" height="141" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGmH56nXFsRQrxePqyM9djcHQUoda8Kp8fn_jgRslY5sFFoxQhP6otPQrBiZNDU16MnR0GxppHpqlnbggEN026iqeylxj0TgI5zjbO_omL6EVgXLwkhookSFaOkN6CLkGCpwfLeCYSFwNQDR0Pv0XhgH0AHzpdGBuNhVUmlvUf_k6TKLYiEmYiqIzpvwE/s320/Dec%2024%2023.jpg" width="320" /></a><b>Magic of Books</b> - here is the next project that got some attention, and this is one of the projects that I am trying to move forward a bit each month. I hope that each month I can pick this project up and get a bit of stitching done on it. Of course, I am still working in the black section, and it is going to take a while to get through it. I am trying to vary how I stitch in that section just so I can see progress on it.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgq4khkxbKgFypXLKdpO64A6XY597WMhWLvSu0PYwVPIP1wUJOTrDjUe4vZNtgn7BddjzSQ74NH4L3cejCAcSAi9deelld-0fx5LhXIL_QHcr-coEbZZmalqyYZ4uiUVRjob3cWqI0EVXryAB8_2VZHObxch9p7gtQtPRZ4fnroYVIVGOL3iGyyFPddZFM/s733/Jan%2021%2024.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="307" data-original-width="733" height="134" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgq4khkxbKgFypXLKdpO64A6XY597WMhWLvSu0PYwVPIP1wUJOTrDjUe4vZNtgn7BddjzSQ74NH4L3cejCAcSAi9deelld-0fx5LhXIL_QHcr-coEbZZmalqyYZ4uiUVRjob3cWqI0EVXryAB8_2VZHObxch9p7gtQtPRZ4fnroYVIVGOL3iGyyFPddZFM/s320/Jan%2021%2024.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>Now that I have added the stitches for this month it will go away until hopefully next month when I can pick it up and work on it again. I hope if you are in an area like we are where it is very cold that you are staying warm. This morning the temperature at 8:30 am was 10F (feeling like -8F) or -12C (feeling like -22C). Yes, it is very cold out and I am thankful that we can work from home most of the time. I do feel sorry for anyone having to wait for transit or walk a distance in this weather.<p></p><p><b>Edna Verenia Nichol - 1884</b> - here is the piece that got almost all the attention this week. I have enjoyed working on this piece and as always, I love working on a red sampler.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnQdfoM0jJQdU0Kb8XJ07R-MVUHKa8Akm7IqIJcBUK0VEoHolNUxEurmfjHzpOsZjSVR501uuXm8TK8dYKaJmD2k0qmlJ10JQ3svyDSsH-1KcKQQDvfmIoBWjHdyZsdt7gRmgP-058JGqOldnIbXhWBj0y5GaV7JMicq_vfoWlXLroUWX2dpcOFN0CXxU/s700/Jan%2013%2024.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="517" data-original-width="700" height="236" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnQdfoM0jJQdU0Kb8XJ07R-MVUHKa8Akm7IqIJcBUK0VEoHolNUxEurmfjHzpOsZjSVR501uuXm8TK8dYKaJmD2k0qmlJ10JQ3svyDSsH-1KcKQQDvfmIoBWjHdyZsdt7gRmgP-058JGqOldnIbXhWBj0y5GaV7JMicq_vfoWlXLroUWX2dpcOFN0CXxU/s320/Jan%2013%2024.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>My goal for this project was to have it finished by the end of the month and I am happy to say that I was able to get it finished by the 13th of the month. Once I was able to sit and focus on this project it moved forward at a good rate.<p></p><p>By Friday, I knew that I was getting close to a finish so between Friday and Saturday I focused on moving this project to a finish and am very happy with the overall sampler. I love being able to work on monochromatic piece because you don't have to think about changing thread colours and all you have to think about is just stitching. Now that this piece is finished it's time to turn my focus onto some other projects.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjngcGpp7XBnXO4s7FdJgUQwyNMW9KgRJhkVc-LbdnB1fHJ4VzijS-1InVy3UkY-1KWEXM4e9eRp7myzIRYSkhlkTQ8cVD0X_IXt6zBBXdqF3NkjIAaJDn1lgaKsleO1PJOZAY8FFMBfEebBlOWLq4tTTodemkU3WaNgNHdfJ0SLHvlIQoxzEB7ux8tlvc/s741/December%20-%20Dec%2031.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="741" data-original-width="705" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjngcGpp7XBnXO4s7FdJgUQwyNMW9KgRJhkVc-LbdnB1fHJ4VzijS-1InVy3UkY-1KWEXM4e9eRp7myzIRYSkhlkTQ8cVD0X_IXt6zBBXdqF3NkjIAaJDn1lgaKsleO1PJOZAY8FFMBfEebBlOWLq4tTTodemkU3WaNgNHdfJ0SLHvlIQoxzEB7ux8tlvc/s320/December%20-%20Dec%2031.jpg" width="304" /></a></div><b>Star Touched Meadows Stitch Along - December</b> - after finishing Edna it was time to pull this project back out and see if I can make a bit of progress on it. As you can see, I was able to add a few stitches to this project, but I didn't get much done.<p></p><p>This project might have got an hour of attention on Sunday, but at least it was moved forward again which is what I have wanted to do. This coming week I hope to be able to make some more progress on it as it would be nice to start to see the lower area of the design completed. I am not planning on leaving all the white stitches to the end this time so I am hoping that I can at least work on small areas of white at a time.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQ0rESuBgee_aXRdqdLbBMQV2yBRRa64bVS4neNYLki3yN2yszcTyKIABeFch9HKc3iWx2-NdanKkO7eq8MLq09k3cBkgql49DJ-oBrbeTraV0je1m-ef4b8gRk-0YvUx1FyfAJc0z4ROlKJCq1IkKB-HFR01A_HrNCbKFgB_a3yedlrmV-0A-acv67i8/s672/December%20-%20Jan%2014.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="672" data-original-width="663" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQ0rESuBgee_aXRdqdLbBMQV2yBRRa64bVS4neNYLki3yN2yszcTyKIABeFch9HKc3iWx2-NdanKkO7eq8MLq09k3cBkgql49DJ-oBrbeTraV0je1m-ef4b8gRk-0YvUx1FyfAJc0z4ROlKJCq1IkKB-HFR01A_HrNCbKFgB_a3yedlrmV-0A-acv67i8/s320/December%20-%20Jan%2014.jpg" width="316" /></a></div>This is now going to be the focus piece for a little while as I would like to see if I can get December finished quickly and maybe even get a start on January before the end of the month. I think the progress will also depend on other things that are going on so will just have to wait and see what happens.<p></p><p>Something else that I have been thinking about is trying to have some small quick projects that I can work on when I need a break from my bigger pieces. I am not someone that enjoys doing all small projects so just having some that I can work on sometimes might be nice. Now to just figure out what the projects are going to be so that I can figure out if that will work.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjvCV0L26mhxQuTWU3wiA-TcgRJYF9xeoo6sXTGIVwbL4_zgPEaiT4Bj8NQD5ARFqdaI6Q4WjCEwLsXO9ExNmrAD-COSdgJrMZO8cQ0bVrtgv9R90-ajwVinSgBbNxfKhHVImmIuFUPTHEigb1DfiBvqxqE-tVY9H4QGIE2SzrxvHaIKS0plw5-k_nm_s/s622/blue%20toque%20Jan%207.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="199" data-original-width="622" height="102" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjvCV0L26mhxQuTWU3wiA-TcgRJYF9xeoo6sXTGIVwbL4_zgPEaiT4Bj8NQD5ARFqdaI6Q4WjCEwLsXO9ExNmrAD-COSdgJrMZO8cQ0bVrtgv9R90-ajwVinSgBbNxfKhHVImmIuFUPTHEigb1DfiBvqxqE-tVY9H4QGIE2SzrxvHaIKS0plw5-k_nm_s/s320/blue%20toque%20Jan%207.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><b>Toque</b> - here is the knitting project that I was able to work on one day this week. I didn't even take a new picture of the toque because I ended up only adding around 4 - 6 rows on the piece so there isn't much of a difference.<p></p><p><b>Other projects</b> - I didn't work on any other projects this week but am thinking that some of them might come back out now that I have finished my first cross stitch for the year. Edna Nichol was my focus as I wanted to get it completed and now that it is done maybe I will spend some time working on some of the other ideas that I have.</p><p>I hope everyone is finding that bit of time for yourself each day. It doesn't matter what you do as long as you take that bit of time to do something that you enjoy doing. I am loving this piece and have been able to spend some time working on it over the last week. Of course, it is another red sampler, and I am looking forward to getting all of my red samplers framed so that I can enjoy them all together. This is a nice size piece as it is around 8 x 5 inches so something that goes work up relatively quickly.<p></p><p>My goal for this piece is to have it finished by the end of January so that I can get back to the stitch along as I am behind on it.</p><p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisuxVvyhVBEKPmheBckxbgwXmwVVLsZcsbxAojGk1pIJFjs_Wiry8SZGUNTvTHLV4Lg1oEyTxO4xqGxLrm1FZ2QDXB6vRKk4hfWTgqkIswZ-ehm7j10vCYRXTWf8TVvY6NJEpq4p_VsNBhc2J7xJp7y0D80ZMbgCSmuPfdnn9bDrJR47bhMf-vUZ-vUK4/s568/beige%20toque%20Jan%207.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="568" data-original-width="514" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisuxVvyhVBEKPmheBckxbgwXmwVVLsZcsbxAojGk1pIJFjs_Wiry8SZGUNTvTHLV4Lg1oEyTxO4xqGxLrm1FZ2QDXB6vRKk4hfWTgqkIswZ-ehm7j10vCYRXTWf8TVvY6NJEpq4p_VsNBhc2J7xJp7y0D80ZMbgCSmuPfdnn9bDrJR47bhMf-vUZ-vUK4/s320/beige%20toque%20Jan%207.jpg" width="290" /></a><b>Knitting projects</b> - this last week I decided to try and get a few things completed so that I could start the year feeling good about my knitting. I had two projects that were close to getting finished so that was my focus.</p><p>The toque that I have been working on was very close to a finish, so I decided to focus on it and the good new is here for one of the first finishes for this year. I am happy that I was able to focus on getting this done so that I can add this to a pile of hats and scarves that I will be donating to a local group at the end of 2024.</p><p>After getting the hat finished, I decided to work on the Dudester scarf as that was something else that was very close to a finish. It didn't take me long to have that finished either so now I have two knitting projects finished and that makes me feel very good. I hope that I can continue to get more knitting projects finished soon.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-dTpUc3M13Ly9qimRvD3PwVY4RWkp6hZDJXo8PIAwwf3Wxld-2KZBmOcpRD6WJ02mwG_0BK37Pg9nLnw2fcDT8S0p3GVtpnG2hhQ6Zh_g0D7-Xy2jRS06kzf9XyX-2c04hlSKrnIKFTZ2oVELPiq2BVq52a-_h1Ylo7vfxkUYwfZ3y9zhi22n6eFW1xU/s712/Dudester%20scarf%20Jan%207.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="712" data-original-width="651" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-dTpUc3M13Ly9qimRvD3PwVY4RWkp6hZDJXo8PIAwwf3Wxld-2KZBmOcpRD6WJ02mwG_0BK37Pg9nLnw2fcDT8S0p3GVtpnG2hhQ6Zh_g0D7-Xy2jRS06kzf9XyX-2c04hlSKrnIKFTZ2oVELPiq2BVq52a-_h1Ylo7vfxkUYwfZ3y9zhi22n6eFW1xU/s320/Dudester%20scarf%20Jan%207.jpg" width="293" /></a></div>After finishing those two knitting projects it was time to start another toque but this one is going to be using a different pattern. Where did 2023 go? I know for me it has been a busy year and now to see what 2024 has in store for all of us.<p></p><p>This last week was so different than expected but at least I was able to find some time to craft and do the things that I enjoy doing. Sure, I didn't get as much done as I would have liked but at least I was able to move some projects forward which is what I needed to do. Now to see what I can get done in the next while as I would like to get more stuff done.</p><p><b>Star Touched Meadows - December </b>- I was able to pick up and work on this piece for a while this week and made some more progress on it. This time I would like to get some of the white stitched while working on the entire design instead of leaving it all to the end like I did for November. I think adding the white as I go would be good, so I am going to be starting that very soon.<p></p><p>This piece is a lot of fun to work on and you can see progress on it fairly quickly even when you don't stitch much on it at a time. I do know that this piece is going to be taking a bit of break as it is the new year and I have a new start ready to go.<br /><br />I am going to continue to work on this a bit at a time as I would also like to see this month done and then see how I do with the rest of the months.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhN2kR4x73cKLPbz3951zg7LU_-jPrHof3lmvO4q0oKQVOZrGVHl3_sZDW8OdL1cetqaCYQwJxRVTrT5v1qjBz4x8-Bi87ahxJUCYfTk7uDX892l895uXAIHa7xBnFUkYczfF4o33pD23TmraIkbSA4XFXXR7KAGpyIDgYF2twwFD3dhlMYxZQJcuZl7dA/s732/toque%20-%20Dec%2031.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="422" data-original-width="732" height="184" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhN2kR4x73cKLPbz3951zg7LU_-jPrHof3lmvO4q0oKQVOZrGVHl3_sZDW8OdL1cetqaCYQwJxRVTrT5v1qjBz4x8-Bi87ahxJUCYfTk7uDX892l895uXAIHa7xBnFUkYczfF4o33pD23TmraIkbSA4XFXXR7KAGpyIDgYF2twwFD3dhlMYxZQJcuZl7dA/s320/toque%20-%20Dec%2031.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><b>Toque</b> - last week I decided to start working on a toque using the same ball of yarn that I was using for the scarf. This means that the scarf is being knit from the inside of the ball and the toque is being knit from the outside. It does make it a little harder to work on the toque but I have made some good progress on it so that is good. Now to see how quickly I can get this toque done.<p></p><p><b>Other projects</b> - I have picked up my English paper piecing a little bit so you will see that when I write that blog. It has been a busy week overall so now to start the new year feeling good about what I have been able to accomplish in the last year. </p><p>I hope everyone took a bit of time for themselves over this last week. It is now the start of a new year and let's hope that this year is good to everyone. Hope you have a good week and hopefully I will have some progress to show you next week.<br /><br /> </p>Darlenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08188547071790224737noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5000606572910301095.post-57927250208421286682023-12-25T09:41:00.001-05:002023-12-25T09:41:17.696-05:00Merry Christmas, a start, a finish, and progress<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9glzAlYrKA9CKOm7SgwecgPnMVsbkfKDiE_c4RVE5w7BXww2aV0wCPxBGVVmeGfPfcmcO1wURXiD5NikdS8xaNppuOWYTzvsHnRP0Sg4C4HGIVVLRVJl4iC7xxHc5HBujMsrpflwvKn0LPzIZXNKemw0DbT1Vb48RVZ4Ifgjmw0PdYek3laAOEh6tn-Y/s699/Dudester%20scarf%20Dec%2017.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="699" data-original-width="629" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9glzAlYrKA9CKOm7SgwecgPnMVsbkfKDiE_c4RVE5w7BXww2aV0wCPxBGVVmeGfPfcmcO1wURXiD5NikdS8xaNppuOWYTzvsHnRP0Sg4C4HGIVVLRVJl4iC7xxHc5HBujMsrpflwvKn0LPzIZXNKemw0DbT1Vb48RVZ4Ifgjmw0PdYek3laAOEh6tn-Y/s320/Dudester%20scarf%20Dec%2017.jpg" width="288" /></a></div>I would like to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas.<p></p><p>This past week has been an interesting done for me as I had some time to do some crafting. Of course, there was still some work to be done but for me quite a bit of it must wait until this coming week and even just after the New Year. This week was a week where I could find some time to sit and craft and am happy with the progress that I have been able to make on the different projects.</p><p><b>Dudester scarf </b>- this project didn't get quite as much attention as I thought it would. I ended up not working on this piece each day as I originally thought that I would but at least it got moved forward.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhppCTzf_g7EFUDANEOVciRihB6AVdbXZBDV8HTKET_6FO_xsDi8eCcXl3D4ydSL9mkDzPb_7whlU8JMHrkNJzgUja2t-V5Ongg_hu6NgPKkRBkRcFxlWjboVfeTj16ftIrOuLQUipCw8K332JxIzXBKZfHmzzVISzMKIO3WlN4c47-X9X13sv0nNwFNcM/s847/Dudester%20scarf%20Dec%2024.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="847" data-original-width="656" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhppCTzf_g7EFUDANEOVciRihB6AVdbXZBDV8HTKET_6FO_xsDi8eCcXl3D4ydSL9mkDzPb_7whlU8JMHrkNJzgUja2t-V5Ongg_hu6NgPKkRBkRcFxlWjboVfeTj16ftIrOuLQUipCw8K332JxIzXBKZfHmzzVISzMKIO3WlN4c47-X9X13sv0nNwFNcM/s320/Dudester%20scarf%20Dec%2024.jpg" width="248" /></a></div>This scarf is a lot of fun to work on and it is a pretty quick knit as well so that makes me a great project to work on when I want to see progress on something. I haven't decided how long I am going to be making this scarf, so I am just going to work on it until I either finish the ball of yarn or think it is long enough.<p></p><p>I have been thinking of making a toque out of this yarn as well so if I do that it will mean that some of the yarn will go to that project. Maybe, what I will do is knit the toque from the other end of the ball of yarn and then see what's left and use it for the scarf. I am enjoying working on this scarf as it is a nice pattern, and I am pretty sure that I will be using this pattern again for another scarf.<br /><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKogONrtDhXQ0OU4qnfA7AnVt-rCPjyOBkjd8ADXCkfPRdUFpOLdx2WTWnn8EZ1R2xdgb4KK0MsBlfDlqNMOHOa5ME-iHI5ayubIr0giDQBwUDKpG5O1jgUHo0r3FDh2X5Bgc5mtNR4eQdQtHDQPri2vYOikcvXVj31RBsYackl-L5kT2R1_FhoH7FwzM/s625/December%20-%20Dec%2024.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="622" data-original-width="625" height="318" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKogONrtDhXQ0OU4qnfA7AnVt-rCPjyOBkjd8ADXCkfPRdUFpOLdx2WTWnn8EZ1R2xdgb4KK0MsBlfDlqNMOHOa5ME-iHI5ayubIr0giDQBwUDKpG5O1jgUHo0r3FDh2X5Bgc5mtNR4eQdQtHDQPri2vYOikcvXVj31RBsYackl-L5kT2R1_FhoH7FwzM/s320/December%20-%20Dec%2024.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><b>Star Touched Meadows - December</b> - I have finally started the December section of this stitch along. This has only had a couple of days of work done on it as I didn't want to start it until the November section had been completed.<p></p><p>I am happy with the progress that I have been able to make on this section as I have only worked on it for a couple of days. Yes, I was able to get the remaining red stitches in on the piece and then it was time to finish stitching all the white in the project.<p></p><p>I don't think I will be leaving all the white to the end next time. I know that the white does make a difference when you see it in person but when you look at the piece on camera it doesn't look much different.<br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjU6kZPw0jUb1OffN1qFzZREJ7PDpyEQ4fpY5G7Ux3WyUiud7xC6K2Xbj8XmGT4E4SbaGl3QkMRC0AgtBU5l31Z9shd6lJVy6Py_XCJqnyGF3ttTd6rQCoixe7P3_DDdm2VUVCrBIQNiW4ZBfLGkHfoQSWt2rgadb0OXK_f6Jpjft6dLF8603f1Fu5Xb9I/s708/November%20-%20Dec%2023%20finished.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="700" data-original-width="708" height="316" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjU6kZPw0jUb1OffN1qFzZREJ7PDpyEQ4fpY5G7Ux3WyUiud7xC6K2Xbj8XmGT4E4SbaGl3QkMRC0AgtBU5l31Z9shd6lJVy6Py_XCJqnyGF3ttTd6rQCoixe7P3_DDdm2VUVCrBIQNiW4ZBfLGkHfoQSWt2rgadb0OXK_f6Jpjft6dLF8603f1Fu5Xb9I/s320/November%20-%20Dec%2023%20finished.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>Once I have finished a couple more of these sections I am going to be finishing them into small items. This week is going to be a busy week for most people, so make sure you take those few minutes for yourself when you can find them.</p><p style="text-align: left;">Have a good week and I hope that by the time I write my next blog I will have some more progress to show you.</p></div><p></p>Darlenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08188547071790224737noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5000606572910301095.post-92110296929045903202023-12-11T08:48:00.002-05:002023-12-12T08:12:10.484-05:00Progress, a start and a finish<p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBVX-0-GZAjaZ2WVILQcvS-hAoPE8Rzg-HnJKdoMsk2Si2QlA6dG8Edrdn4EV-3fKrebneRfTxxRP_hOvz0qZJL_1VA3PPXQkpvt1X1gLc3Rau6YZ92i-M1QoeRnYGf_ktXuZiURm8U_QqZjfPQUqb7pQQYRWbBifcIXf9oZDgnOM9GPSTLNJYOyeHlA8/s629/November%20-%20Dec%203.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="629" data-original-width="626" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBVX-0-GZAjaZ2WVILQcvS-hAoPE8Rzg-HnJKdoMsk2Si2QlA6dG8Edrdn4EV-3fKrebneRfTxxRP_hOvz0qZJL_1VA3PPXQkpvt1X1gLc3Rau6YZ92i-M1QoeRnYGf_ktXuZiURm8U_QqZjfPQUqb7pQQYRWbBifcIXf9oZDgnOM9GPSTLNJYOyeHlA8/s320/November%20-%20Dec%203.jpg" width="318" /></a> Here it is the start of another week, and hopefully this week will be a little slower and I will be able to get a few more things accomplished. Last week was another busy week, so I didn't have quite as much time to work on my crafting, but at least I was able to make some progress on things.</p><p>This week I hope to be able to make a bit more progress on things, but will just have to wait and see what the week has in store for me. I have a couple more things to get done before Christmas, so those should be the things that I try and focus on this week.</p><p><b>Star Touch Meadows SAL - November </b>- here is the cross stitch project that got the attention this past week. I am loving how much I was able to get done and I only worked on over the weekend.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcqLKd6_fYNcbeIwVEOfn2hlHuuQGDnL2N7UQW5LqFG9XDOJmH8M7VoCMgTJQM884__6NOH49XLAVFfex07u06SA2cm4Wl4I3PtIFZMKKKdoeEDoImunyjKI_vDNC5omuDgSFkrvVTzFoIr8UetYpyit0POz-Bzqc0se847Sx1hrf3cSuoM3byDEG8s5c/s699/November%20-%20Dec%2010.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="687" data-original-width="699" height="315" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcqLKd6_fYNcbeIwVEOfn2hlHuuQGDnL2N7UQW5LqFG9XDOJmH8M7VoCMgTJQM884__6NOH49XLAVFfex07u06SA2cm4Wl4I3PtIFZMKKKdoeEDoImunyjKI_vDNC5omuDgSFkrvVTzFoIr8UetYpyit0POz-Bzqc0se847Sx1hrf3cSuoM3byDEG8s5c/s320/November%20-%20Dec%2010.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>I am currently trying to finish up colours on the entire piece and that has helped a lot. Of course, you can't finish a colour when you have big open sections that you need to work in. The bottom of the piece has all but two colours completed, and then the top have still has 5 colours to be added. <p></p><p>I am enjoying this piece, but I am looking forward to getting it done so that I can start on the December section. I know that I am behind on this stitch along, but that doesn't bother me. I also want to ensure working on other projects as well, so I will get these sections done as I can.</p><p>Hopefully I will be able to work on more of this piece this week and maybe get more of the colours finished up.</p><p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiD1jKunWxMAIEi7bVAfW5r6Mhvov6GAinznjVU7J0PUSnQj3ibUdhipMsq7juAwrSQit2oJl0flw-HRwWSgEdikUwwFJNhUJLgquaMxJEq2tUcuzrg9jQkFsq-P5DjX6Bk4Q01E-wE0SS2zyp9sYAeSpFRpYlJoSh-R0IWtQuIth4IA3AZEE2vJPoLeeY/s647/Ocean%20Breeze%20shawl%20Dec%203.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="269" data-original-width="647" height="133" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiD1jKunWxMAIEi7bVAfW5r6Mhvov6GAinznjVU7J0PUSnQj3ibUdhipMsq7juAwrSQit2oJl0flw-HRwWSgEdikUwwFJNhUJLgquaMxJEq2tUcuzrg9jQkFsq-P5DjX6Bk4Q01E-wE0SS2zyp9sYAeSpFRpYlJoSh-R0IWtQuIth4IA3AZEE2vJPoLeeY/s320/Ocean%20Breeze%20shawl%20Dec%203.jpg" width="320" /></a><b>Ocean Breeze Shawl</b> - here is the scarf that I was working on for the last couple of weeks. The scarf that I ended up with was only around 24 inches, so not something that is going to be as useful as I had hoped. At least I finished up a ball of yarn, and now it's onto the next project.<br /><p></p><p><b>Dudester scarf</b> - this is the new knitting project that I have started. This scarf resulted in a start on Friday and then a restart on it on Sunday. I had started this scarf with the suggested number of stitches, but the scarf was just too wide. I am working on making some scarfs for children from 4 to 12 years old and this scarf that I originally started was almost 10 inches side, and it was felt way too wide.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuIInKfuHig43K_GQeDIBdIqIMlgPwHY_Uy5wLorS-96plSUoxin9iOICLbaVXZNTE5T7suTkl4HtCaSwN2UTjPBL63kM1ZDLrdE6u3xIr-DC7i_85bA3dyT3BZgbK16dtxXNoWyK5txCAT8sakRKjMpXjVSA6acjHKQSYg_mxpnqGvsPQuWK_5xNPKxM/s648/Dudster%20scarf%20-%20Dec%2010.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="348" data-original-width="648" height="172" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuIInKfuHig43K_GQeDIBdIqIMlgPwHY_Uy5wLorS-96plSUoxin9iOICLbaVXZNTE5T7suTkl4HtCaSwN2UTjPBL63kM1ZDLrdE6u3xIr-DC7i_85bA3dyT3BZgbK16dtxXNoWyK5txCAT8sakRKjMpXjVSA6acjHKQSYg_mxpnqGvsPQuWK_5xNPKxM/s320/Dudster%20scarf%20-%20Dec%2010.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>I am a lot happier with this version of the scarf because it is around 7 inches wide, and it is nice and soft. I hope to be able to spend some time working on this scarf this week, and I will see how much of it I can get done.<p></p><p><b>Other projects </b>- I have been trying to get other things worked on but with being busy things just haven't got the attention. Now that things are hopefully starting to slow down a little bit, I hope to be able to spend some time working on other projects as well.</p><p>I know a lot of us are busy this time of year with the holidays just around the corner. I am going to be trying to find some time to relax and enjoy my crafting, but first I have to get the work completed that is on my list. I am going to continue to try and spend some time each day taking time for myself so that I can recharge my personal batteries.</p><p>It is now time for me to get some of the work off my desk, so hope everyone has a good week, and you get your personal time. Hopefully, next week, I will have some progress to show on at least a couple of projects that I have been working on.</p><p></p>Darlenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08188547071790224737noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5000606572910301095.post-30377916003318084282023-12-04T08:32:00.002-05:002023-12-04T08:32:41.309-05:00Some slow progress<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirSZ1vIMOTYEBzEyAsyCLw_1tH61qpoeADpPYd7hyphenhyphenWf1lZsOxcGcecrE4sgvE0xbiI8FPrpTTqtknJi10Ahyphenhyphentqeo1YCyA22M6c8U071_WP24eBRZ-2Ve-Y9D8k6I1mj2Z7c7wRtm8Yf1dKmIe1vNAN6OOyMsrRC-ox5ov9EDvmc13DHBKUCgN0mLcHjhc/s674/November%2026.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="657" data-original-width="674" height="312" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirSZ1vIMOTYEBzEyAsyCLw_1tH61qpoeADpPYd7hyphenhyphenWf1lZsOxcGcecrE4sgvE0xbiI8FPrpTTqtknJi10Ahyphenhyphentqeo1YCyA22M6c8U071_WP24eBRZ-2Ve-Y9D8k6I1mj2Z7c7wRtm8Yf1dKmIe1vNAN6OOyMsrRC-ox5ov9EDvmc13DHBKUCgN0mLcHjhc/s320/November%2026.jpg" width="320" /></a></div> Here it is the start of another week, and yes, another busy week for us. Seeing that I have been able to get another couple of colours finished is nice. The other part of finishing a colour at a time is I am working on the entire design instead of in just one section.<div><br /></div><div>The good news is I am now just over 45% finished on this section of the stitch along which makes me happy. Now the bad news is the December section has been released so that means that I need to really work hard if I want to try and at least sort of keep up on this project. I don't think I will be keeping up as there are other things that I would also like to stitch during this next year.</div><div><br /><b>Ocean Breeze Shawl/Scarf </b>- here is the knitting that I have been working on this past week. The pattern is actually for a shawl, but I decided to make it narrower. What I am doing is using up the yarn that was left after I made the Curling Mist Shawl.<p></p></div><div>This pattern is a simple pattern, and it does work up pretty quickly when I have the time to work on it. I hope that I can get this scarf finished before too long and then pick up another project that I want to work on.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Other projects</b> - I haven't been able to work on any of the other projects that I wanted to try and do last week so I will see if I can get them done this coming week. I do have a couple of gifts that I would like to finish so that is something else that I am going to have to focus on in the next couple of weeks.</div><div><br /></div><div>I hope everyone is finding that bit of time each day to do something for yourself. This time of year can be busy for everyone and making sure that you take that little bit of time for yourself each day is very important. We all need to ensure that we have the energy to be there for others but first we need to know that we have the energy to make sure we can take care of ourselves.</div><div><br /></div><div>Hope everyone has a good week, and I will see what I can get done this coming week. The motifs were already made so it was just a matter of joining them together this month. I hope that in December I will be able to make better progress on this project and maybe even add some of these flowers onto the actual throw.</p><p><b>Other projects</b> - none of the other EPP projects got any attention in the last month. I really do hope that I will be able to get to working on my projects in December and be able to show some good progress when I write another blog at the end of December.</p><p>I am thinking that at the end of December I may even show a comparison of the projects from January 1st to December 31st. It would be interesting to see how much I have been able to get done on the projects.</p><p>I hope everyone has a wonderful December and you are able to get some of your EPP moved forward. Until I write my next EPP blog have a wonderful month and if you celebrate Merry Christmas and Happy New Years and I will see you on January 1st.</p><p> </p>Darlenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08188547071790224737noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5000606572910301095.post-73296927157952158982023-11-27T08:53:00.004-05:002023-11-27T09:03:15.464-05:00Another week and three finishes<p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGA8Bpl1Cv69tq0ZaIrZRoJ1qQLi-8XuIpoe2I1RtAHwZKK2EXRn0MZtZ-ZSxh_GYtQ7DDbsBrBj1fySAWm0tl2zKEnbRb44U9vKjStGzO_H28uiv5VFrdhj7liPRf7m2eyDZTU_0eacDBAwUmio2wAM56X_z4CbPU7P6iWJJEzyRArelFHC1kifda-HE/s649/November%20Nov%2019.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="629" data-original-width="649" height="310" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGA8Bpl1Cv69tq0ZaIrZRoJ1qQLi-8XuIpoe2I1RtAHwZKK2EXRn0MZtZ-ZSxh_GYtQ7DDbsBrBj1fySAWm0tl2zKEnbRb44U9vKjStGzO_H28uiv5VFrdhj7liPRf7m2eyDZTU_0eacDBAwUmio2wAM56X_z4CbPU7P6iWJJEzyRArelFHC1kifda-HE/s320/November%20Nov%2019.jpg" width="320" /></a>Here it is the start of another week, and I was able to make a little bit of progress on things last week. It would be nice to see more of this done otherwise I am going to feel way behind on this project. I know that each of these sections are a full coverage piece so they aren't going to be something that I will get done in the month unless I just focus on doing this project.<p></p><p>It does feel good seeing that I am getting some of the colours completed and that is what I have been trying to focus on for a while. I was going to work in sections of the piece but decided to try and work on a colour at a time and see if I could get it done on the entire piece and it has been helping. I have finished three of the colours so far and now to work on getting more done.</p><p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPO9HbIxI8Bxz-TRnJzJLj9D1Y-LC9b-Va_nT4HDBzIdFB3lTv2dG5iwo-C6zXDc5ZRcgLpvjDu91YGacgWOnM9W4S7alpjACojWTFmYQg33N82XoK1e9KWxO7IhSiuMpdx4SeMwjoanQE2ahMrEDbMQg3fiOxXVLZykMHbf-d33XdwG7lczpZAuS8uyo/s560/November%2027.jpg" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="441" data-original-width="560" height="252" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPO9HbIxI8Bxz-TRnJzJLj9D1Y-LC9b-Va_nT4HDBzIdFB3lTv2dG5iwo-C6zXDc5ZRcgLpvjDu91YGacgWOnM9W4S7alpjACojWTFmYQg33N82XoK1e9KWxO7IhSiuMpdx4SeMwjoanQE2ahMrEDbMQg3fiOxXVLZykMHbf-d33XdwG7lczpZAuS8uyo/s320/November%2027.jpg" width="320" /></a><b>Holiday Cardinal</b> - here is a project that worked up nice and quickly this week. I wanted to make some Christmas ornaments so found this pattern. It is <a href="https://www.pigeoncoopdesigns.com/collections/holiday/products/holiday-birds-patterns" target="_blank">Holiday Cardinal by Pigeon Coop Designs</a>. It was a fun piece to do and instead of the French knots that the pattern called for I put beads in instead. It didn't take me long to stitch this ornament up and get it into the frame. Now to see if I can get the rest of the ornaments completed before too long. I hope to be able to focus on getting the other ornaments completed in the next couple of weeks so that they are finished.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4Gw9kKLk4WiBGAFHwtafXASzA5y2EPaq17IRLm-pRcVAzj-exdsMD_a1RlV7gF1tlyLklUaAL95EytZQEAOXgBUgvWQ0oxBMgtppe71cA3DaOac1uOHbqOCTDTWPQZ1ZF0MVLd08smB0ArwJ4U7yESS-OvidI3uD9p4MjBC97tV65TWuxs3kNmaPEHz4/s741/scissor%20fob.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="250" data-original-width="741" height="108" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4Gw9kKLk4WiBGAFHwtafXASzA5y2EPaq17IRLm-pRcVAzj-exdsMD_a1RlV7gF1tlyLklUaAL95EytZQEAOXgBUgvWQ0oxBMgtppe71cA3DaOac1uOHbqOCTDTWPQZ1ZF0MVLd08smB0ArwJ4U7yESS-OvidI3uD9p4MjBC97tV65TWuxs3kNmaPEHz4/s320/scissor%20fob.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFDARirmq4LJsn3eIxlf2tWbgSx3GAAHFxgRBdfwU-JyOu-bLTZpk4K1wW7jbbmgFi_JoW26JWThd8r6ijM8Iu42YSGrevX2cL_GXrcIk_55_aNCokAsYXtbWxyuc7iETJGPCo0gqOmn7Njno6yxdnzeK_1OTsKUobnv9GJT9RzteCMsragIJ_fiqhzwE/s853/Curling%20mist%20shawl%20Nov%2019.jpg" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="853" data-original-width="672" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFDARirmq4LJsn3eIxlf2tWbgSx3GAAHFxgRBdfwU-JyOu-bLTZpk4K1wW7jbbmgFi_JoW26JWThd8r6ijM8Iu42YSGrevX2cL_GXrcIk_55_aNCokAsYXtbWxyuc7iETJGPCo0gqOmn7Njno6yxdnzeK_1OTsKUobnv9GJT9RzteCMsragIJ_fiqhzwE/s320/Curling%20mist%20shawl%20Nov%2019.jpg" width="252" /></a><div style="text-align: left;"><b>Scissor fob</b> - here is another quick project that I got done this past week. I am not certain what I will get done this week with regards to crafting, but we will just have to wait and see.<p></p><p>I have been able to spend some time in the last week getting some crafting done so that has made me a little happier. This coming week I will see what time I have, and which project or projects get the attention.</p><p><b>Star Touched Meadows - November</b> - here is the cross stitch piece that got my attention in the last week. This is a stitch along hosted by Carolyn Manning called <a href="https://www.carolynmanningdesigns.com/stitch-along.php#!/The-Star-Touched-Meadow-Stitch-Along/p/588686528/category=22531532">Star Touched Meadows</a>. It is a twelve-month stitch along and each month you get a new design that is 77 x 77 stitches but full coverage.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPZiQVVeiwKmGViwlzHpFp7-gfOixdZvLGhJvB4WgfHxE5ZOfEvaPks5IHESC4NvtUpS4D-mJBpDFZtPcq4V99V0mr-iz16w3K-tw-l6FGZVVWsiwyKEAzPyDaTvqfmFg099ih2ckOH0LWMdFcwYMlDeCqcSL8Ad8dYM-ZRx-2pFHvzef0LKTJ5Ed8Jco/s649/November%20Nov%2019.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="629" data-original-width="649" height="310" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPZiQVVeiwKmGViwlzHpFp7-gfOixdZvLGhJvB4WgfHxE5ZOfEvaPks5IHESC4NvtUpS4D-mJBpDFZtPcq4V99V0mr-iz16w3K-tw-l6FGZVVWsiwyKEAzPyDaTvqfmFg099ih2ckOH0LWMdFcwYMlDeCqcSL8Ad8dYM-ZRx-2pFHvzef0LKTJ5Ed8Jco/s320/November%20Nov%2019.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>This is the November piece as the stitch along just started. I am going to be trying to make some more progress on this piece as it would be nice to have it closer to a finish before the next piece comes out on December 1st. What I have been trying to do is get some of the diamonds stitched, so that I can work on filling in some of the other colours and have places where I can secure my threads.<p></p><p>This week I would like to see if I can move this forward a bit more, but I also have a couple of Christmas ornaments that I should try and get done. What I may try and do if my schedule allows is work on the ornaments for part of the week and then work on this project for a bit as well.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8vudkW7Q0yPbE0OT5EXUsKxvpLHtMpTGs4AdL_BAHMLIvbCYtjsi9lIw4LLhP0dQJu8MsPAM4jx7O0-gGoLFeGDQarEq1AlwSnbn3myDzhZvM8mbEF5YCNj3311OvaIGk12mWJSiAXu7vgg0YbVfBx-oyXGpPjj-_kV7rC624xbvVythHEfyZoxDmZvw/s708/Curling%20mist%20shawl%20Nov%2012.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="708" data-original-width="548" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8vudkW7Q0yPbE0OT5EXUsKxvpLHtMpTGs4AdL_BAHMLIvbCYtjsi9lIw4LLhP0dQJu8MsPAM4jx7O0-gGoLFeGDQarEq1AlwSnbn3myDzhZvM8mbEF5YCNj3311OvaIGk12mWJSiAXu7vgg0YbVfBx-oyXGpPjj-_kV7rC624xbvVythHEfyZoxDmZvw/s320/Curling%20mist%20shawl%20Nov%2012.jpg" width="248" /></a></div><b>Curling Mist Shawl</b> - here is the knitting project that I have been working on and trying to get it closer to a finish. Last week I decided that I was going to try and focus on this knitting for a little while and see how much of it I could get done. At the end of last week, I had the cable section and the garter section to do as well as finish a garter section. <p></p><p>In the last week I focused on getting some of the knitting done and I finished the one section of garter and then I worked on the cable section and got it completed as well. It was nice to get that much of the shawl moved forward. I have also been working on the final garter section and how have 14 rows to go to finish the shawl.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTZ6ZdVS2AcfGxkCXxXBENOMGuPb1umCONncKnX9L2myQN6eD7Tr6h_wjh20Uo9wKeInftCXNGb6zzak_PWF1NPYE8QeMWcFA_YVI9ogI2Vn-U1WgTLvtoWYwl63dlB5snBB7kQJFYdkvR7MFISckT1fIv_0I7stQCz9YeyL_WtFUfRaD_PoABFpKYKD4/s853/Curling%20mist%20shawl%20Nov%2019.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="853" data-original-width="672" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTZ6ZdVS2AcfGxkCXxXBENOMGuPb1umCONncKnX9L2myQN6eD7Tr6h_wjh20Uo9wKeInftCXNGb6zzak_PWF1NPYE8QeMWcFA_YVI9ogI2Vn-U1WgTLvtoWYwl63dlB5snBB7kQJFYdkvR7MFISckT1fIv_0I7stQCz9YeyL_WtFUfRaD_PoABFpKYKD4/s320/Curling%20mist%20shawl%20Nov%2019.jpg" width="252" /></a></div>This project is enjoyable to work on, but the rows do take quite a while to get done. I finished out that each row takes about 10 minutes to complete so I don't get a lot of progress during my 30 minutes of knitting that I try and do each day. At least I am moving the project forward. This week I am going to try and find some time to work on this shawl and maybe even get it off the needles.<br /><br /><b>Other projects</b> - as you can imagine I didn't get much progress on anything else. I have been working on getting progress on the shawl so that took most of my time. This week I am not certain what will get my attention, but I do know that I would like to see some progress on things.<p></p><p>I hope everyone is finding that little bit of time each day to make progress on something. The progress may be reading a few pages of a book or spending that bit of time just sitting and recharging. Progress doesn't have to be something that you can see. Spending time planning a vacation in y our head is also progress.</p><p>Next week I hope to have a bit of progress to show you on something that I have been doing. I am not certain what is going to get my attention other than the shawl. Have a good week and remember that we all need to take that little bit of time for ourselves each day.<br /><br /><br /></p>Darlenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08188547071790224737noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5000606572910301095.post-44110771516103314122023-11-13T08:53:00.000-05:002023-11-13T08:53:00.811-05:00More progress on both projects<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaDwLN7wAoRpEkO3fxl-Z3gRaIfZEHP6B5TyloE-NfFzKW5En36lkhG1-IDNIRV9U6a6j9XJ0fsnsC8iu54gjmlS8GS-ENscAuZCUVUqVyLiMCEJZQhDs6FYxrxO0VEITe80grjowp-1vOfxj33R_3W404pgr5wBuF21-6UVeL2p9lHDBuApbB9BSQ7_Y/s879/Nov%205%2023.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="415" data-original-width="879" height="151" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaDwLN7wAoRpEkO3fxl-Z3gRaIfZEHP6B5TyloE-NfFzKW5En36lkhG1-IDNIRV9U6a6j9XJ0fsnsC8iu54gjmlS8GS-ENscAuZCUVUqVyLiMCEJZQhDs6FYxrxO0VEITe80grjowp-1vOfxj33R_3W404pgr5wBuF21-6UVeL2p9lHDBuApbB9BSQ7_Y/s320/Nov%205%2023.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>Here it is the start of another week and yes, I was able to find some time and energy to work on both projects that have been my focus for the last little while. I am happy with how much I was able o get done on it. I think Pandemic is going to be put aside for a little bit as I have some other projects that I need to get done. I have been able to get another one of the cable sections completed and am now working on another garter section. With this project I have two sections to complete after the garter section that I am currently working on. There are still around 70 rows to go on the shawl, so it isn't going to be happening this week, but I hope to have a finish on this shawl before too long. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEislRM9RdjeTSIZv8c_FdmwFU1nGVFbDBhwCLbzzffrq7DwHc2-pwEN2BT4Hga5NBlGWKt6ziOa5WPWIivSSuG09YnQduuIJHhqWj8dYCdHpWY-3VWIO5goC81ghOcTWFqliRoNo_-v23FoLgvjr5X54jBkDLCNeuh-fIe-DwPQUlFXJWSmwBvbBjd2TSg/s830/Curling%20mist%20shawl%20Nov%205.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="830" data-original-width="550" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEislRM9RdjeTSIZv8c_FdmwFU1nGVFbDBhwCLbzzffrq7DwHc2-pwEN2BT4Hga5NBlGWKt6ziOa5WPWIivSSuG09YnQduuIJHhqWj8dYCdHpWY-3VWIO5goC81ghOcTWFqliRoNo_-v23FoLgvjr5X54jBkDLCNeuh-fIe-DwPQUlFXJWSmwBvbBjd2TSg/s320/Curling%20mist%20shawl%20Nov%205.jpg" width="212" /></a></div>This shawl has been a lot of fun to work on even with-it having cable in the design. I am not someone that has ever liked working on cable but at least I have been able to get this shawl moved forward and maybe cable isn't so bad. This is only 2 stitches for the cable so I can do it without a cable needle so that is probably why I haven't minded doing it. The cable sections do take longer to do but at least I have been getting them done. I am now going to try and focus on getting more rows done on this shawl this coming week as it would be nice to see it closer to being finished. </div><div><br /></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxHCFNotefbkefi4Crbow48LVDS0UtD_UMSZrQjmxrethaEIzkOcyjC3c6Zx6Da2yGvqtI2cFKgIGTfXgs8vD-v2PSfbzNjTYpFgE8zySs11raR827sxeRnxbsEJar-wqx7tRVsoUAO4DWQt_4xmAQKUWZOTO1W4ZNnsohjbRk2LwYFTMmOwVWAW0nCnU/s830/Curling%20mist%20shawl%20Nov%205.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="830" data-original-width="550" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxHCFNotefbkefi4Crbow48LVDS0UtD_UMSZrQjmxrethaEIzkOcyjC3c6Zx6Da2yGvqtI2cFKgIGTfXgs8vD-v2PSfbzNjTYpFgE8zySs11raR827sxeRnxbsEJar-wqx7tRVsoUAO4DWQt_4xmAQKUWZOTO1W4ZNnsohjbRk2LwYFTMmOwVWAW0nCnU/s320/Curling%20mist%20shawl%20Nov%205.jpg" width="212" /></a></div><b>Other projects</b> - I haven't had a lot of time to work on other projects so now to figure out just how to get back to seeing progress on a lot of the different things that I would like to finish up. I do have three Christmas ornaments that I need to make so that means that I am going to have to work on them before long. I don't think they are going to take me too long to make but I still need to get them done.</div><div><br /></div><div>I hope everyone is finding that bit of time each day to do something for yourself. On the days when I wasn't crafting I sill was able to mind a bit of time where I could do something for myself. Being able to recharge your personal battery is important and it helps you have the energy and focus so that you can help those around you.</div><div><br /></div><div>Hopefully next week I will have some more progress to show you on a couple of projects. I hope to pick up my knitting a bit more as well as add few stitches into Pandemic. May you have a week where you can get things done and enjoy yourself. This past month I focused on just two of the projects and I am happy with the progress that I was able to make on both.<p></p><p><b>Table Runner</b> - here is the piece that I decided that I wanted to try and get moved forward some so that meant sitting and working on getting more of the motifs added to the actual runner. It does make me happy to see that I was able to make a bit of progress on it.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGamDA-I6Zvb8wVJaKu0EBIuC7YRjrLQB1QrMNjgGF_CSfq4HBLsAloBM8P4mepUFVgTUR8v93A0WIafOgEOQwoJLjwvvfJlzFqgr_AIBy79EzYtBHXoNSyW3pPO-afusEcRwMyvBGzx-ms3BVM1TLDYI9yAuKemsPbyQHD8vNjSYy1_T2ZJrg341VZoc/s702/table%20runner%20October%2031.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="448" data-original-width="702" height="204" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGamDA-I6Zvb8wVJaKu0EBIuC7YRjrLQB1QrMNjgGF_CSfq4HBLsAloBM8P4mepUFVgTUR8v93A0WIafOgEOQwoJLjwvvfJlzFqgr_AIBy79EzYtBHXoNSyW3pPO-afusEcRwMyvBGzx-ms3BVM1TLDYI9yAuKemsPbyQHD8vNjSYy1_T2ZJrg341VZoc/s320/table%20runner%20October%2031.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>This project is now at the point that if I could focus on it I would be able to get the top of the runner completed before too long. I still need to figure out the number of motifs I have left to add to this project and then maybe I can work on just getting it done. It would be nice to see this runner closer to a finish so that might be something that I try and focus on in the next couple of months, but we will just have to wait and see what happens.<p></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjp2giZkWCaPn-9HOSs8tdKo8p03LkVkFdce4ay_W21mkAJ4AVJTg0bET0dxA9iVatDTd29Olc_yho5QyOWPcJzCCa22h4sxbxfNq42iZ2DdNBX2Wh77fcb8z2p4Gk24xh7XBNUzkT0ihGhCLEl-fLHrSHfcHVnwTyDIWVCYKLuP_PO70wZkMF8M3QVrP4/s626/October%20scrap%20throw%20flowers.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="568" data-original-width="626" height="290" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjp2giZkWCaPn-9HOSs8tdKo8p03LkVkFdce4ay_W21mkAJ4AVJTg0bET0dxA9iVatDTd29Olc_yho5QyOWPcJzCCa22h4sxbxfNq42iZ2DdNBX2Wh77fcb8z2p4Gk24xh7XBNUzkT0ihGhCLEl-fLHrSHfcHVnwTyDIWVCYKLuP_PO70wZkMF8M3QVrP4/s320/October%20scrap%20throw%20flowers.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><b>Scrap Throw</b> - here is the project that seems to have got the most attention and part of that is because it was easy to work on when I was trying to juggle a lot of other things. It was nice to have a project that I could work on a little bit at a time and see progress on it.<p></p><p>What I decided to do with this project was to work on joining sections of motifs together so that it might be easier to get them attached to the overall scrap throw. Having these little pieces with me makes it easier to work on and it means that I am not carrying around the big throw when I don't have a lot of time to work on it.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmMBZ8CfyxGR9uftaA6CekoraUuY1QGpNmwoIEU_pfLykU-4fB-nU5aZED5DtzJ63NEgexJVNvZz5XYLuI_DN8ioecyWbVsVDaEv7RMnJ8uh-gCc6uv-eyizcgwPCw3ST51Mjdp3DbWvoH4cO2cUEl1YP8Qvq_xhSsF42L1ADov3rntrvhO4B8dJ_TLOo/s664/October%20scrap%20throw%20denims.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="664" data-original-width="550" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmMBZ8CfyxGR9uftaA6CekoraUuY1QGpNmwoIEU_pfLykU-4fB-nU5aZED5DtzJ63NEgexJVNvZz5XYLuI_DN8ioecyWbVsVDaEv7RMnJ8uh-gCc6uv-eyizcgwPCw3ST51Mjdp3DbWvoH4cO2cUEl1YP8Qvq_xhSsF42L1ADov3rntrvhO4B8dJ_TLOo/s320/October%20scrap%20throw%20denims.jpg" width="265" /></a></div>Now that I have a bunch of groups/flowers completed I hope that I can start to add them to the scrap throw and maybe see how quickly that goes. I hope that doing the piecing this way will also help more the project forward a little quicker.<p></p><p>The other thing that I did in October was to continue to make some of the denim motifs that I need for this throw as they are going to be part of the border. I know that being able to get these motifs made would be great, but I need to get more of the inside of the throw put together because a lot of denim motifs will come in happy.</p><p><b>Other projects </b>- I didn't work on any of the other EPP projects that I have on the go as I was trying to just focus on moving a couple of them forward instead of trying to work on too many at once. Now that it is November, I will see what projects I work on.</p><p>I am really enjoying working on the different projects and I know that there are a couple that I haven't touched for a while and maybe it's time for me to pull them out and see what I can get done on them. I have 30 days to work on my projects again this month and I will see what happens. </p><p>If things go well, I should have some more progress to show you at the end of November. I am not certain which projects will get my attention, but I hope that at least a couple of them do get a bit of time this month. Have a great month and I will see you for another EPP update on December 1st.</p><p><br /><br /><br /><br /> </p>Darlenehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08188547071790224737noreply@blogger.com0
