A bit of stitching time

Here it is the start of another week, and it is hard to believe that 2021 is almost over. I know that things have been different again for all of us, and hopefully 2022 will be better. Covid-19 continues to be in our lives and if you are like us, we are getting very tired of hearing about the number of cases in Ontario.

My crafting continues to be my escape from some of what has been going on around me, and I am glad that I have it. I haven't got a lot of projects finished in 2021 but at least I know that I have been able to enjoy some time doing the things that I love doing. I continue to cross stitch, knit and crochet and seeing projects at least moved forward a little makes me happy. I am not sure what 2022 has in store for me, but I do know that I would like to continue to see a bit of progress on my various projects and maybe even see some of them get closer to a finish before too long.

Pashmina shawl - this project didn't get a lot of attention this past week, so there isn't much of a change on it. I am still trying to decide how long I want this, so that is something that I am going to be doing in the next week. I love working on this project as it is a very easy pattern to do. The only thing I need to do with this project is count the number of rows that I have done.

This coming week I hope to be able to spend some time working on this shawl so that I can get it closer to a finish. If things go well, I might be able to finish at least one more of the colours and then decide if it is long enough or if I could add more stripes to it.

I do have enough yarn to make this shawl longer, but I also need to make sure that I don't make it too long so that it isn't uncomfortable to wear. I think after this next colour I will check the length and then determine how much longer I want to make the shawl.

This Is Home - here is a new start for me, and it is coming along quickly. The pattern is by Jan Hicks Creates, and it was a free pattern that she released a couple of weeks ago. When I saw it, I immediately knew I was going to be stitching it up, as I would like to have it hanging in our front hall before too long.

I am using the same floss colours that I use for Krozwyrd so that they can hang together. I hope to have this one done before too long, as I also have other ideas of projects that I want to get stitched up before too long.

Plans for 2022 - I do have some plans for next year, and they are very simple. I have a few cross stitch projects that I would like to get done, so those are going to be worked on when I have the time. For knitting and crocheting, my plan is to continue to work on using up some of the yarn that I have and see what I can get finished. My other crafts such as English Paper Piecing will also get worked on, so now to see how things go moving forward.

I hope everyone has had a good holiday so far, and now we have a week when things might slow down a little, and maybe we can find a bit more time to do the things that we love doing. For me, it is the time of year when I need to finish up some work for our business and get things organized for the following year.

I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and all the best in 2022.  I will see you again in the new year.

Where did the week go

It is hard to believe that another week has come and gone. I don't know where it went, but it sure went quickly. I know that with the holiday season upon us, the days and weeks do seem to go a lot quicker than other times of the year.
Turquoise - here is a piece that hasn't had much attention since early November, so I figured it was time to pull it out and get a few more stitches in on it. Of course, there is still along way to go when you consider this is going to be a square piece when it is finished. I am currently working from the middle out, and I am loving the colours so far. It is nice when I can pick up this piece because most of what I have been doing in just filling in one colour, so it made it a very easy stitch when I had those few minutes where I could just sit and work on it. I hope to get more of this piece done but will have to see what this week is like.
Pashmina shawl - here is the project that got picked up the most this week, and part of that is because it was a simple project to work on late in the evening. I am loving how this piece is turning out and don't think I have much more to go on it. I am now on the 10th stripe and haven't decided how many more I will add to this piece. I know that I will have at least 11 stripes, but after that I am not sure if I will add more or not. I am going to have to measure it soon to see how long it is. I know that I still have yarn to make it longer, so that is one option, but I also need it to be comfortable to wear.
Other projects - as the year is coming to  an end, I have been trying to figure out which projects I can get finished up quickly and then what projects will take longer. I am finding that a lot of the projects that I have on the go are going to take a while to finish, so there isn't going to be many more finishes before the end of this year. I don't mind having projects go into the new year, so that is what I will be doing again this year. This week I am going to try and see what I can at least get moved forward or organized for progress next year, but I think that is going to be it.
I hope everyone that celebrates Christmas is almost ready for the big day, as it is coming up very quickly. I know that we still have a couple of things to finish up, and then we should be ready. I also know that with Covid-19 still an issue, it means that this year is going to be very similar to last year and extremely quiet.  If you are like us and the number of cases are continuing to go up, please stay safe and take care of yourself and your loved ones. Please remember that even in this busy time to take that bit of time for yourself each day and do something that you enjoy.

I want to wish everyone "Merry Christmas" and please stay safe and take care of yourself.

A finish and some progress

Here it is the start of another week, and it has been a busy week here, but I was able to find some time myself each day and have some progress to show for it.

It is hard to believe it is almost the middle of December with the weather we have been having. We have broken records for the warmest December 11th on record with 17.7C on Saturday. The weather we are having is crazy, so now to see what it is like this week.

Krozwyrd - as I have been saying this project has been my focus piece for the last while as I have been loving how it has been coming together.

This weekend I decided to try and focus on it and see if I could get it finished, and I did. I am happy to say that this project is now finished. Over the last week I worked on the last of the sections that needed the attention, and it was fun watching each of the sections come together.  I am looking forward to getting this piece framed and up on a wall soon.

It always makes me feel good to finish a project, especially after I have worked on it for a while. Now, I need to figure out what is going to be the next project that I focus on, as I would like to see what else I can get finished up.

Pashmina shawl - this project is so much fun to work on when I have those few minutes. I haven't put a lot of time or energy on this piece over the last week, but hopefully this week I can spend some more time working on getting this moved forward. I know that I am at least halfway through this shawl so that is good and now to see how quickly I can get it done.

Now that Krozwyrd is finished, this project might get some additional attention, but I will have to figure that out over the next little while. I do want to get it done, so yes it goes need to get the attention so that it gets moved forward instead of getting put aside and not getting finished.

Other projects - I haven't had a lot of time to work on anything else as this past week was very busy for me. I am probably like a lot of other people, as it gets near the end of the year there are a lot of additional things that you need to finish up. I am now trying to wrap up a few of the outstanding things that I have needed to do, so that is what part of my attention has been.

I hope everyone continues to find a bit of time each day for yourself so that you can do something that you enjoy. It doesn't matter how long you spend doing things for yourself, but even those few minutes can help you recharge your own personal batteries.

Next week I hope to have some progress on something to show you but until then please stay safe.

Progress again

Here it is the start of another week, and it looks like it is going to be a busy week for me. I am looking forward to seeing what this week has in store. We are now in December, and we have had one snow fall so far, and now we are back to having the colder weather but rain instead of snow, which is fine with me.

Krozwyrd - I have been able to make some good progress on this piece, so will see how things go. I am looking forward to getting this piece done as I only have a couple more sections to go.  I am not sure how long they are going to take to do but at least it is getting closer to a finish.  This week I hope that I can get a bit more of this done as I would a finish before too long.

Pashmina shawl - I love how quickly this project is working up.  I haven't been working on this a lot, but I am now close to 50% done, which makes me happy. I haven't decided how long this shawl is going to be, but I am figuring around 12 stripes, so will see what it's like when I get there.

This project is great to have to work on when I am sitting watching a webinar when I don't have to take notes or at the end of the day when I am wrapping up and taking those few minutes to myself.  I hope to be able to continue to get rows done on this shawl over this coming week, as I would like to have this finished before too long as well.

Other projects - I haven't been working on a lot of other projects lately, as I have been trying to focus on getting Krozwyrd finished. Of course, there are the normal things that need to gt done as well so that means I don't have a lot of time to do other projects right now.

I am looking forward to seeing what projects I will work on after I get these done. I have lots of ideas and of course I have things that I want to start in the new year, so that is also getting planned now.

I hope everyone continues to find a bit of time for themselves each day and do something that you enjoy doing. I know that I have found making sure that I take that bit of time is very important.

Have a good week, and hopefully I will have some progress to show next week on some of my projects.
