Progress this week

Dragon - Linen and Threads - Sept 13
Here it is another week and I can actually say that I have been able to get some stitching done and it makes me feel wonderful.

Dragon - Linen and Threads - here is a dragon that is part of the Mystery SAL 2018 that I decided to work on as a separate version of the dragon.  I  am going to be stitching a few versions of two of the dragons and will see which one I like the best.  The first one I am working on is a red version of the dragon and there will be some metallic threads added to this piece after I get all the other stitching done on it.  I am happy with the progress that I made as I worked on this piece for one evening this week.  Now to see when I pick it up again and see how much more stitching I can get done on it.  I hope to be able to work on it again in September but will see what happens.

All Dogs Go To Heaven - Aug 25
All Dogs Go To Heaven - this project got some attention and it was a project that I decided to pick up and work on for quite a bit of Saturday.  I wanted to see if I could get some more of it done and by the time I finished up for the day I was able to get around 850 stitches in on the piece.  I know that it doesn't look like a lot of stitching but considering there are three colours of blue in this piece so far it requires a lot of counting and figuring out where the next colour goes.

All Dogs Go To Heaven - Sept 15
As this piece is a full coverage piece I know it is going to take me some time before I can see some actual progress but at least I am starting to see that when I can focus on it for a while that I can actually get something done on it.  I hope to be able to spend some more time this month working on it because it makes me feel wonderful seeing that I have been able to get closer to being able to add some other colours to the piece but I still have quite a bit of blue to go on this corner so will see how that goes.

DLKsCrafts - April 28
DLKsCrafts - this piece is something that I started in April and figured it would work up quickly.  I ended up putting it down for some reason and now finally decided it was time to get back to working on it and it is working up quickly when I can actually spend even a little bit of time working on it.

DLKsCrafts - Sept 15
The purpose of this piece is to have my ETSY store name on some fabric so that when we are taking pictures of the different grime guards I will have the shop name also visible.  This also means that the photos are going to harder for someone else to use unless they can remove the actual stitching that will be in the middle of each of the pictures.  The piece that I am working on is for the 11x17 q-snap grime guards and then I will have another one to stitch that I will be using for the 11x11 q-snap grime guards.

This week just sitting and working on it for a couple of evenings have helped because now I just need to add the word "crafts" and it will be completed.  I am going to see if I can do some more stitching on this in September because I would like to see that I have got the piece finished and then I can start working on the other version of it.

Temperature - Sept 9
Temperature - Yes I am still behind on the stitching of this project but now I can say that I am roughly a month behind instead of two months.  I am going to continue to focus on this piece because I would like to make sure that I  have been able to get more of it completed before the end of the month.  I am now about half way through August stitching so that is nice and I would like to make sure that I am well into September by the end of the month.

Temperature - Sept 15
Temperature is still one of my focus pieces and I think just getting it done would make me feel a little better about things.  I know that being able to get some of the rows done would make me feel better.

This week is going to be a busy week for me so I am not sure how much stitching I will be able to do.  Work now needs to get done and there are a few projects that also need some attention so those are the priorities for this week and then I will see what time I have left where I can pick up a project and stitch on it a bit.

Moving projects forward

Coffee Quaker - August 19
Here it is another week and yes I was able to find some time to do some stitching and am happy with the progress that I see on some of the projects.

Coffee Quaker - August 24
Coffee Quaker - well this project got a little bit of time and it would have got more if I hadn't had to restitch the bird.  of course, when I started the bird I had it in the wrong place so after finishing it and moving onto the next motif I discovered I had placed it wrong so that meant that I had to take out the motif that I had started and the entire bird.  As you can see the bird is back and it is now in the correct place and next time I pick this project up I will try and get some more of the motifs completed.

All Dogs Go To Heaven - July 20
All Dogs Go To Heaven - This is going to be a very long project and I understand that because it is a full coverage piece and there are 89 colours in a piece that is going to be around 13 x 16 inches when it is finished.  I am enjoying working on it but right now with basically three different shades of blue happening is sure doesn't look like much.

All Dogs Go To Heaven - August 26
I am thinking that next time I pick this project up I may see if I can add at least one other colour to the piece as it would help a lot.  As this piece is so large I ended up putting a spreadsheet together so that I can track the progress that I am making on the design.  It is 24 pages of pattern and of course, the page I am currently working on has the most stitches on it so that is going to take me some time to get through.  As of Saturday evening, I have finished 22% of the first page and 1.4% of the entire design.  Yes, it is going to be taking me quite a while to see some really good progress on this piece but considering some of the Heaven and Earth Designs can take people two or three years to complete I understand.

Linen and Threads Mystery SAL - August 19
Linen and Threads Mystery SAL '18 - Of course, this piece needed some attention this week because I wanted to make sure that I got the entire August section done before the September section is released.

Linen and Threads Mystery SAL - August 23
The Phoenix did seem to take quite a while to do and I am not sure why but at least by Thursday evening I was able to say that the August section is now complete and I am waiting to see what the September piece is going to be like.  I am thinking it might be a border design to break up the design but we will have to wait until the end of this week to see what it is.  I figure I will try and get the September section started as soon as it is released and then see how much time I have in September to work on other projects.

Temperature - August 18
Temperature - I am still working on getting Temperature caught up and that is taking some time but at least this week I was able to get June finished up and have just started the July temperatures.

Temperature - August 23
I am continuing to try and get four of the temperatures done each day and it seems to be helping as it means that I am slowly getting caught up on this piece.  I decided that I am going to try and continue to get four of the temperatures done each day through September and maybe then I will be a little closer to being caught up by the end of the month.  I know that I want to have this piece completed in early January 2019 and the only way that is going to happen is if I can actually get it all caught up and then just be adding the two temperatures from each day as they happen.

I am still working on a few other projects and am happy with the progress that I have been able make.  Just seeing that things continue to move forward is great.  I am busy with work as well so that means that the crafting time is the evenings and weekends but I don't mind.  I enjoy sitting in the evenings doing some crafting and I have something to show for it at the end of the evening.

I hope everyone has a great week and if you are also a crafter, you can find some time to do the things that you enjoy doing.

Moving forward again

The weather was a little cooler this week which also meant that I was able to spend some evenings stitching which made me feel so much better.  Just seeing the progress that I have been able to make feels nice and how to see what I can do over the next week.

Linen and Threads Mystery SAL '18 - July 15th
Linen and Threads Mystery SAL '18 - now this is the project that I decided was going to be something that I focused on this week as I would really like to get this section done before the end of the month.  I have been focusing a lot of my stitching time which is the evenings after work to sit and see how much of this I could get done.  As you can see this week I have been able to finish the left side of the section and now I am working on the right side.  I hope to be able to get this section done before the end of this week so that I have a bit of a break before August is released.  I really do like this entire design and am looking forward to seeing the entire piece at some point.
Linen and Threads Mystery SAL '18 - July 22nd

I decided that I was going to try to finish the outline of the unicorn last night as it means that I can see a lot of something finished up quickly when I can just sit and fill in an area instead of having to always be counting each row.

Temperature - July 9
Temperature -  I finally was able to pick up temperature again and get a few more rows done on it.  I am hoping to be able to spend some more time on it and maybe I will see more of it done before the end of the month as well.  I know that being able to get this moving forward would also help me feel like I am getting back to the level of stitching that I was able to do earlier in the year.

Temperature - July 19th
The colours that I am currently working with are also nice because they are the brighter colours so that has helped me want to pick up this piece and see how much of it I could get done.

All Dogs Go To Heaven - well as I have mentioned there was one pattern that I have wanted to start and finally on Friday I decided it was time to actually start this piece and see how much of it I could get done.  This is going to be around 18 inches x 14 inches when it is finished on 18 count Aida and it is a full coverage piece  (83,525 stitches) so yes it is going to be taking me a very long time to finish it.

All Dogs Go To Heaven - July 20th
I know that I am going to be working on this piece a bit at a time or at least one page at a time so that I don't feel like it is as big as it really is.  I was happy with the progress that I was able to make on Friday on the piece so now to see when I can pick it up again and get some more work done on it.  I am going to try and finish one page at a time so that should help me see some progress and then maybe after a while I will start to see some of the clouds appear and that will also help.  I know that even on the first page that I am working on has the first dog in the cloud so maybe if I can focus on this piece I will start to see the dogs sooner than I really think.

I am happy with the progress that I was able to make on my pieces this week and will see how things go.  Work is keeping me busy so that means that I don't have a lot of time but when it is cooler in the evenings it means that I can sit and stitch and see some progress.

It is now time for me to try and get some of the work done that is on my plate for this week and then maybe in the evenings I will be able to pick up a project and see how much I can get done.  The Mystery SAL is the first project that will be getting attention this week to see if I can get it done and then I will see which project I pick up after that.  Hope everyone has a good week and if you are stitching hope you enjoy your time.
