A couple of small finishes and some progress

Here it is the start of another week and hopefully the weather will warm up some. Last week we had some nice weather, and we were able to spend some time enjoying being outside. It was nice being able to be outside and not have to wear a jacket, but now we are back to cooler weather and having to put a jacket on.

This last week I didn't get a lot of crafting in as I would have liked but I was busy doing some of the other things that I enjoy and then the allergies decided to tell me that being outside isn't the best thing for me in the spring. We did go to WEFT Fest in Waterloo on Friday and it was nice. The Quilt of Belonging was there so we got to see it again which is something that we always enjoy being able to do.

We also got to enjoy some time at the St Jacobs Farmers Market, so it was a nice change. The weather was wonderful so that made it very enjoyable. 

Beaded Wizard - here is the project that got the attention last week as I was trying for a finish. I knew it shouldn't take me long to get it finished if I could just focus on working on it so that is what I did. The cross stitch and backstitch is now completed on this project and what I am deciding is if I want to put the beads on the piece that go up from the star. 

It is nice to see that this project is finally finished given it was a start in 2005 at the Creativ Festival. Just seeing another project finished is nice and I hope to be able to get some more of the small projects finished this year. I don't think I will have a lot of finishes but at least seeing some small projects off the list will make me feel a little better.

I did put a few stitches in on Summer Keep another 2005 start but not enough to show. I would like to see if I can get this piece done as well soon but I will have to figure out when I will pick it up again and work on it.

Preemie Knitting - I was able to make a bit of progress on the preemie blanket that I had started. It didn't get a lot of attention this past week but at least I was able to move it forward a bit which made me happy. I am still working on the increase rows so we will see when I can start the decrease rows. It is nice having this project to work on as it is something that I can easily pick up and put down depending what else is going on.

This last week I also decided to work on some preemie hats so that I have them to also donate in June. It was nice to be able to pick up and quickly get some of the rows done on these projects. I am going to try a few different preemie hat patterns so that I can decide which one I like the best. So far, the pattern I like is just the basic hat as I don't have to remember what row I am on.

Other projects - I didn't work on any other projects this week as I was trying to focus on getting something either moved forward or finished. It was nice having a week like that and now to see what I can achieve this week.

I hope everyone is finding that bit of time each day to do something you enjoy and recharge your personal battery. It doesn't matter how long you do something as long as you are taking a bit of time for yourself. 

This week Mini the Forgotten is going to be coming out again for some attention and I am looking forward to seeing how much of it I can get done. I will also try and get some more knitting done as I would like to see some more progress on the preemie items. We will see what I can get done this week and I will show you the progress next Monday.


 

Making progress, a finish and another start

Here it is the start of another week and hopefully one where the weather will be nice. Of course, there is work that needs to get done so that is what I am going to be trying to achieve first. Hopefully this week I will find some time to also do some crafting.

Pandemic - here is the piece that I picked up and worked on again last week. I was going to work on a different project, but this one was calling to me, so I decided to work on it for a second week in a row. 

This past week I was able to finish another page of the pattern so that made me happy. It has been nice working on this piece and seeing the progress that I have been able to make on it. Being able to see the progress on this piece is making me happy. I still have a long way to go before this is finished but at least I am moving it forward and enjoying it. I am going to be putting this project down for a little while as there are other projects that I also want to make progress on.

Preemie blankets - this last week I continued to work on knitting the preemie blanket that I had on the go, and it didn't take me too long to get it finished. 

It is nice having that blanket finished and it is ready to be donated at the end of June to a hospital. I am going to be continuing to make some preemie items so that I have a few items to donate. This week I am going to try and work on getting some hats made as well so I am not just donating blankets.

After I finished the blue blanket that I was working on I immediately decided to start another blanket and have been able to make some good progress on it as well. 

Other projects - I haven't worked on any other projects this last week other than the preemie blankets and my cross stitch. It has been nice trying to stay focused on my craft projects.

I hope everyone is finding a bit of time each day to do something that you enjoy. Being able to recharge your personal battery is very important. It doesn't matter what you do as long as you find a bit of time for yourself.

This week I am going to work on my knitting again and see how much of it I can get done and I am going to work on some small cross stitch projects for a change as I would like to see some progress on them as well.

Making some progress

Here it is the start of another week which means it is time to figure out what I have been working on besides trying to get other work done during the last week.

Pandemic - this is the cross stitch project that got the attention in the last week and I am extremely happy with the progress that I was able to make on it. I wasn't sure how much I would be able to achieve in the last week, but I do know that once I started things seems to flow.

I have been working on trying to get another page either finished or close to a finish but this week I didn't get a page finish, but I am pretty close to that. It does feel good seeing that I have been able to continue to move this project forward. It would be nice to see another page finish, but at least I know that next time I pick up this project I should be able to get that page finished and will see what else I can achieve. 

Preemie items - over the last little while I have been trying to make some progress on getting some preemie items finished. I have worked on a couple of hats and the first one did end up being extremely large, so now to figure out making sure that I can get some smaller hats completed.

I am currently working on a preemie blanket which hopefully I can get it completed this week so that is something else that is on the list of things to complete. These items don't normally take too long to finish so I will be trying to continue to make progress on this stuff. I also have another preemie blanket on the go which I should be able to get done quickly so that is another project that will get a picture taken soon. I have a v-stitch blanket that I have been working on and that just needs a bit of time before it is finished.

It has been so nice being able to pick up and work on some of the small projects so we will see what I can get done in the next couple of weeks. Just seeing progress on hats and blankets is making me happy so we will wee what happens moving forward.

I was also able to finish a blanket that I had started a few years ago. It was going to be a bigger baby blanket but I decided it was large enough so I crocheted the border around it and it will also be added to the items that I will be donating.

Other projects - I haven't been able to work on any of the other projects this week because I have been trying to stay focused as much as possible. Hopefully soon I will be picking up something else and maybe move it forward. I know that I would like to get some English Paper Piecing done soon so that is something that I am going to have to work on.

I hope everyone is finding that bit of time each day to do something that you enjoy doing. It doesn't have to be anything big; it can simply be taking those few minutes to just sit and relax and not do anything. English Paper Piecing - April Progress

Here it is the beginning of May, and I want to let you know what I have been working on with regards to my English Paper Piecing in the last month.

Scrap Throw - my scrap throw has come back out to play for a while and I am starting to work on it a bit more which is nice. I have lots of flowers to add to the project so it is now time to work on getting them attached to the throw so that I can get this project finished up.

Another thing that I did with the scrap throw is to start adding more of the denim motifs that are going to be the border onto the throw. It felt nice see some progress on the actual project instead of just continuing to make the motifs and flowers. 

Of course, I am going to have to continue to work on making denim motifs because this project is going to be large enough that I know that I don't have enough denim motifs made to go around the throw twice for the border.

I do have an idea how to move this project forward, so I am hoping to be able to continue to work on it for a while and see how quickly the throw grows. It felt good this last month seeing the throw change a bit so hopefully I can continue to get it moved forward.

Other projects - I do have an idea for a small project so that might get some attention in May, but we will just have to wait and see. I do know that being able to continue to move my EPP forward even a bit at a time is making me feel a lot happier.
