A little bit of progress

Aussie Friends - January 12
Aussie Friends - January 25
Here it is Monday, and I have to admit that the last couple of weeks have been extremely busy and finding time to even do a few minutes of something for myself each day has been a challenge.  This coming week doesn't look much better, so we will have to see how the week goes.  I was able to find a bit of time to stitch, so do have some progress over the last couple of weeks.

Aussie Friends - this is a charity fundraiser page by Sassy Jacks Stitchery and for every piece that is stitched and shared with them, a donation will be made to assist the fire recovery in Australia.  This project didn't take me very long to stitch once I was able to sit and work on it.  The squirrel and acorns are part of Sassy Jacks, and the koala, eucalyptus branch and the flora represent Australia.

I am not sure how I am going to finish this piece, but at least the stitching has been completed, and I have shared it with Sassy Jacks.

There are a few more charity fundraiser patterns, and I might be picking up at least one more, but I will wait and see what I feel like later on this week.  The biggest challenge is deciding which patterns that I really like and which ones I will actually stitch.

Simple shawl - January 26
Simple Shawl - I decided that while things were going a little crazy around here, I would try and pick up a project that was simple and maybe I could get some of it done.  Last weekend I picked up some of the yarn that I have around and started to work on this shawl.  It is based on one of the scarves that I knit last year, but instead of doing the eyelets and other parts of the pattern, I am doing a simple garter stitch shawl.  This means that I can pick up and knit the piece, and I don't have to worry about what row I am now and what pattern I should be working on.

The pattern starts out with 3 stitches, and I am now at 84 stitches, and I will be working on this shawl until I have finished the two balls of yarn that I have for it.  I am not sure how big it will be, but at least it will help me use up some of my yarn as well as get something made.

I hope everyone has a good week this week, and you can find even a few minutes each day to do something that you love doing.  It is now time for me to get the work done that is currently sitting here on my desk and then see how the rest of this week goes.

One thing that I am doing this coming weekend is helping at the Walk for Memories in support of the Alzheimer's Society of Toronto.  I do have a donate page, and if you would like to make a donation, please click this link My page

Have a great week and hopefully I will have something to show next week.

Moving projects forward

Mini The Forgotten - Jan 5

Here it is the start of another week, and I am now trying to sit here for a few minutes and get this blog written.

Mini The Forgotten - Jan 12
Mini the Forgotten - this is the piece that got most of the crafting attention this week, and I am very happy with the progress that I have been able to make.  It is slowly starting to come along, and I think I am now around 5.5% finished, so yes, a long way to go.

Aussie Friends - Jan 12
The colours are mostly various shapes of grey, but it is an enjoyable piece to work on.  This past week I worked on a lot of the black on the first page as there is a lot of just black stitching in the entire piece, so I wanted to get some of it worked on.

Aussie Friends - there is a project that I picked up and started this past week.  This is a free pattern from Sassy Jacks Stitchery, and it is a fundraiser to assist Fire Recovery in Australia.  The idea behind this pattern is if you stitch it by the end of February and post a picture of the completed piece, Sassy Jacks Stitchery will make a donation on your behalf.

The pattern can be found on the Sassy Jacks Stitchery Website (link).  So if you are someone that likes to cross-stitch, here is a pattern, and you can quickly stitch up and then help others at the same time.

I have been busy with a lot of work lately, so now it is time for me to get back at the work and see what I can get accomplished today. I hope everyone has a great week and you continue to find those little bits of time to do the things that you love doing.

Progress on some projects

Linen and Threads Mystery SAL'19 - Dec 28
Happy New Year to Everyone.

Here it is Monday morning and another blog to let you know what I have been working on over the last week. It was a different week for me as there was another holiday right in the middle, so that meant things, didn't operate as normal, but now things are back to how they should be working.

Linen and Threads Mystery SAL'19 - Dec 31
Linen and Threads Mystery SAL'19 - I was able to at least get the outside border of this design completed this week.  I decided that working on the border one area at a time was what I needed to do so, that is what I did.

I now have the butterfly section to finish, and I will be working on that a little bit at a time to ensure that I don't mess up any of the butterflies.  I am looking forward to getting this piece finished, but I also have other projects that are currently making me happy so, they are getting more attention than this design.

Linen and Threads have also released their 2020 Mystery SAL, and I will be working on it.  The fabric is sitting, and some of the threads are ready, so now I need to put it all together and see when I will start working on this design.  It is a quaker and family design, so looking forward to seeing how it turns out at the end of the year.

Mini Farewell to Anger - Jan 1/2019
Mini Farewell to Anger - here is a piece that I started on January 1, 2019, and it got exactly one day of work last year.  I am not sure what happened to prevent me from moving it forward, but I have decided that 2020 is the year that this piece gets some attention, and maybe I will see how things go on it.
Mini Farewell to Anger - Jan 3

I picked this piece up on January 1st, 2020 and have made some progress on it so, that is nice to see. I hope to be able to continue to get this piece moved forward over the next few months, but only time will tell.  I know that the section I am working on right now is pretty dull, but once I move up even a little bit, the colours will start to be added in, and I look forward to seeing what they look like on this piece.

Mini Farewell to Anger won't be a piece that is probably finished in 2020, but at least I would like to see some progress on it and that is the main thing.
Mini The Forgotten - Dec 28

Mini The Forgotten - here is a piece that I started December 21st, 2019 and I have also picked it as a project that I would like to see moved forward in 2020.

Mini The Forgotten - Jan 5
This piece is a lot of the greys and black, so there isn't a lot of colour in this piece, but it is a piece that I am looking forward to seeing more progress on in 2020.  I would like to see that being able to focus on a couple of projects will help me get more things accomplished instead of bouncing around between as many pieces as I did last year.

Goals for 2020 - I don't have any major goals for 2020 other than try and work on some projects and get them moved forward. I don't get the goals any longer as I never know how much time I will have to work on my crafting as work keeps me busy.  I still want to try and ensure that I can find even a few minutes each day to do something that I enjoy and that is the main goal for this year.

My other crafts are still moving forward very slowly, so there aren't any pictures currently as there isn't much progress.  I will see how this month goes and I will see what projects get the attention when I have the time to work on each of them.

I hope everyone had a great holiday over the last couple of weeks, and now that things are getting back to normal, it is time for me to get the work done that is currently sitting on my desk.  Have a great week and I hope that you also find a little bit of time each day to do the things that you love.
