Another slow week

Baby afghan - no change
This past week was another one of those weeks where crafting kind of took the backseat to all the other things that were on my plate.

Work was busy but most evenings I did find time to do things but I am not really sure what I lose myself in most evenings.  I know that just relaxing was part of the schedule last week as we both needed some time to sit and relax and enjoy being out on the balcony one evening.

I am still working on making hats for this month and will be taking a picture of all the hats that were completed in June at the end of the month.  The pile continues to grow and that makes me very happy.
A start to some fun hats

Of course as I have been working on the various baby hats for the hospital I thought it might be time to start on some special hats. These red hats are only partly done because I still need to add the white rows to the bottom of them so they will be Santa hats.  Yes, I know it is only June but considering there need to be dropped off early I need to make sure the hats are done in it.  I actually started working on these hats on June 24th so 6 months before Christmas eve.

I am also going to try and crochet a few Halloween hats or at least bright orange hats so that they are also done early.  Hopefully some of these fun hats will be in the picture at the end of the month.  A lot of my crocheting time is going to depend on the heat as when it is too hot and humid out I just don't feel like doing much of anything.

Until later today I am now going to go and get some work done and then will see which yarn gets my attention this evening if I can find a cool enough spot where I can sit and crochet for even an hour.

This coming weekend is a holiday here in Canada on Friday and then in the States it is Monday.  Have a safe weekend no matter which one you celebrate and I will see what crafting I am get done this week.

Weeks going by too quickly

Baby afghan just started
I am not sure where last week really went but I do know that I was able to find a little bit of time to sit and craft which made me happy.

The pile of baby hats is continuing to grow and that is making me very happy.  I am trying to see if I will be able to crochet at least 30 hats this month and am getting closer to that goal now. I think I have around 20 hats completed now for this month so if I can continue crocheting even a little bit each evening I should be able to get the rest of the hats done before the end of the month.

Cookies and Cream - The ball of yarn for the baby afghan
The other project that just got started yesterday was a baby afghan using a different type of yarn that I have never used before.  This yarn got my attention a couple of weeks ago and of course after seeing it on sale I decided to pick up one ball of it.  The ball of yarn that I first picked up was Cotton Candy as it is for an afghan that I want to work on this summer.  The Cookies and Cream ball of yarn was bought this weekend when I had a 40% off coupon at Michaels so picked this one up so that I could start making an afghan right away with the yarn to see what it looks like.

Cotton Candy - Another ball of yarn ready for afghan
The balls of yarn are 284 grams and it says it is enough to make a baby afghan so I decided to try the v-stitch pattern that I normally do.  The pattern on the label is for a large granny square afghan so I may end up using the second ball of yarn for that but will see how I like this first afghan.

With the weather being as hot as it has been trying to sit and crochet has been a bit of a challenge at home but with sitting on our balcony I have been able to get a bit done as we normally have a bit of a breeze outside.

This week I am hoping to be able to get a few more baby hats completed and then I will see how much more I can get accomplished on the baby afghan.  I am making this afghan a little smaller as I am not sure how this yarn will work up.  After this afghan is finished I will be able to determine if I can make the next one a little wider or if I will stick to the afghan being around 18 inches wide.

It is now time to try and get some work done before it gets too hot out.  Stay cool and I will see what crafting I accomplish this week.

Another week

Konecny Logo - May 11th
I am really not sure where the last week went.  I do know that I was pretty busy with a lot of various projects so my crafting wasn't something that got a lot of attention.

Konecny Logo - June 8th
I was able to find a little bit of time to sit and stitch one evening so I make a bit of progress on the Konecny Consulting logo that I have been working on.  It is nice when I am currently just filling in around the letters because it means that
I can see some results without having to spend hours on the project.  Once I finish filling in around the letters I have four more rows to go across the top just above the letters.

Besides finding the time to cross-stitch I have continued to work on the baby hats for the hospital.  The pile of hats that need ends sewing in continues to grow so I guess I need to sit down and sew some ends in soon.  I love making the hats and I don't even mind because they only have one end that ends to be sewn in and that is the final end as I crochet the first end as I start the hat.

This week I am once again now sure how much time I am going to have to work on the various craft projects that I have on the go.  I hope to be able to find one evening where I can sit and craft but time will tell.  Until then I will continue to get the work done that needs my attention and know that crafting time will happen when it does.

It is now time for me to get back to work to finish up a couple of items before I can call it quits for today.

Where did the week go?

More hats
I really don't know where last week went other than I was busy and didn't get a lot of time to sit and craft.

I was able to get a few baby hats completed and that made me happy.  I am working on seeing how many hats I can get done in the month of June and currently I have 6 hats completed.  I would love to see that I have been able to make more than one a day so that means I am going to have to work hard to keep ahead.

This last week besides the normal work that I do I was also helping with a charity run/walk family day that was held on Saturday.  There were two events, one in Calgary and one in Mississauga and we went to the Mississauga one.  I am the person in the background that makes sure registration is going well and I also try and promote the event as much as I can.

I am hoping that this week I will find a bit of time to work on my cross-stitch but it will depend on how the rest of the things go.  I am also going to try and make sure that I have enough hats done by the end of the weekend to make sure I am still on track to get 30 hats done by the end of the month.

I am now going to try and get some work done so that I can maybe find a bit of time this evening to work on some crafts.
