Some good progress

Here it is the start of another week and yes I am happy to say that I did make a bit of progress on things over the last week.  Now to see what I can get done this week, as I think I might be changing up some projects for a bit of variety.

We continue to have a lot of restrictions here in Ontario, but being able to work remotely helps so much.

Krozwyrd - I decided to work on getting a few more letters added to this piece as they are a lot of run and something that I can do quickly. 

I will continue to add the letters but now what I have decided that I want to do is work on some various sections so that I can get the bottom on the pattern finished.  I am hoping to be able to focus on getting the bottom areas completed and then start working up on the pattern.  I would like to see more of the piece done, as I started to feel that bouncing around wasn't helping me see the progress that I really wanted to see.

I got the very bottom of the piece almost all finished and that made me feel good so now to work on getting more of the sections done.

Autumn - This piece got some attention as well this week and I continued to work on building the second house.  It does take quite a while to see progress on this piece, but at least I have been more of the houses done and have started to add other items as well.

I love seeing how the houses have started to come together as well as being able to add other little things to the piece as I have been stitching.  I am looking forward to seeing the rest of the piece come together, but I know it isn't going as fast as I had hoped so now maybe to take a week off from it and see what I feel like after that.

I would like to get this piece done soon but maybe taking a bit of a break from it will help me want to work on it more and see it finished.  I had first thought that I would have it done very quickly but once I started on it, I realized that there is a lot of detail on this piece, and it was going to take me longer than I originally thought to get it done.  

Infinity scarf - this project has changed again this week and part of that is because of how easy it is to knit.  I have decided to make it a bit longer, and then I will be making a different scarf out of the other yarn that I have left.  This scarf will use up 12 of the 24 balls, and then I will work on the other scarf and see how quickly I can get it done as well.

I have three more balls of yarn to add to this scarf and I have to admit that I have been having fun just grabbing the next ball and seeing what it is.  The other scarf has had a bit more planning, so that is also good.

I have started the other scarf and got a few rows done on it but nothing that will really show what the pattern is like.  Hopefully next week I will have more of it knit and will be able to show you what it looks like.  Having the simple knit patterns are really helping me right now as with everything else that is going on I need to see progress on things but can't have something that is too complicated.

Other stuff - this coming week I am thinking that I might change up the cross stitch projects that I am working on and see how that goes.  I have been working on these pieces for a while and thought that maybe a bit of a break would help some.

I have a few projects picked out that I might work on so now to see which projects get the attention because it will be a lot of fun to see progress on some of the other projects that I want to do.  

I hope everyone continues to find a bit of time each day to do something for yourself.  It doesn't matter how long you spend, but just spending a few minutes each day does help a lot. I recently was told that I had to remember that life is like when the oxygen deploys on an airplane.  Make sure you take care of yourself first, and then you will have the strength to help others.

Where did the week go?

 Here it is the start of another week and I can't really figure out where the week went. I know that things were busy around here, so that is probably why I am not sure where the time went.

The restrictions here in Ontario are still in place, but that doesn't bother me, as we have been staying away from stores and such as much as possible.

Krozwyrd - here is the one piece that I did make some progress on this last week. I decided to try and work on filling in some letters in the blocks so that I could start to see what each of the words looked like.

The fill in areas are going to be taking longer than I thought because some of them have a lot of detail, but I am working on them a bit at a time and that seems to be working a little better. I hope to get more of the fill in done this week as well as getting more of the letters done.  I am having fun working on the different letters, so I am not sure when words will get completed, but it's fun just adding a different letter when I feel like working on them.

Autumn - I finally got this piece back up and figured I needed to get a few more stitches in on it.  I ended up working on getting the main colour of the second house completed and that makes me feel a little better.  I hope that I can continue to get this piece worked on as I would like to have it finished before the end of Autumn this year.  I know that there is quite a bit of time until then but considering how I sometimes stitch I need I better work on it a bit more. 

With this piece I am thinking that I might try and work on a colour at a time and see how that goes.  I have quite a few different colours in this piece, and maybe seeing progress would help me want to stitch on this piece a little more. Maybe this week I will try and work on it. 

Infinity scarf - I have been able to make some good progress on this scarf during the last week.  I have been trying to pick this up even for a few minutes each day, and I am happy with the progress that I made on it.  I am thinking that I may just finish the colour that I am currently working on and then make this into the scarf.  It is pretty long now, so I'm thinking that I might say it is long enough and then finish this one off and then start working on another one so that I can have different scarves for different outfits.

This scarf is so nice to work on as it works up pretty quickly as it is just two pattern rows, so there isn't a lot of things you have to remember when working on this piece.

Other projects - I have been able to works on bits of other projects, but again nothing that is worth taking a picture of. One of my socks finally came back up, and I got a few rounds done on it, but that wasn't worth a picture this week.

I hope everyone continues to find a bit of time each day to do something for yourself.  It is very important to make sure that we find the time to recharge our own batteries before we try and help others.

Hopefully next week I will have some more progress on a few projects that I can show you. 

Progress on a couple of projects

It is hard to believe that another week has come and gone, but I guess given the way things went I should be saying finally that week is over.  It has been crazy around here, but now maybe things are starting to get a little more organized and that will be good.

Krozwyrd - this project continued to be my focus for another week, and I am happy with the progress that I was able to get done. I have now finished outlining all the blocks for the letters and have started to do some background for it

This piece does take quite a bit of time to see progress, especially now that I will be doing the filling in of the various sections. I didn't focus on one section of the background, so that is why there are little areas done, but hopefully I will be able to pick a section and try and get it done instead of bouncing all over, but only time will tell.  I am not sure if this project will continue to be my focus or not, but will see what I feel like later today when I pick up my project.

Infinity scarf - this week I was able to work on getting a bit more of this scarf worked on and that felt great.  I have finished five of the 24 colours and am now working on the 6th colour.  I will see once I have got 12 of the colours added if I am going to make one very long scarf or two shorter ones.  I guess only time will tell, but I am lovely this project as it is very easy to do and something that I can see results.

I am going to try and continue to work on this a little each day as I would like to see more of it done before too long.  I am finding this scarf a lot of fun to work on considering I don't know which colour yarn I will be using next.  I have all the partial balls in a bag and I just grab one and start knitting with it.  It has meant that this scarf is very random, but I am loving how it is turning out so far.

Other projects - I continue to work on other projects a bit at a time, but again nothing is really moving forward very quickly.  Life has been very busy for us the last couple of weeks so now to see what it is like this week.  I hope that things have started to calm down some, and then I will be able to focus on getting some projects done that I have wanted to do.  I guess I can only wait and see what happens.

I hope everyone continues to find a bit of time each day to do something that you enjoy doing.  That time is very important as it ensures that we have the energy to help the others around us. Stay safe, and hopefully next week I will have some progress on something to show you.

A bit of progress

Here it is the start of another work week.  I have to admit that I am not sure where the last week has gone but at least I know that we have been able to make some progress around my own office area.  

Working from home means that your office area is also areas that you use for a lot of other things, so I spent part of the weekend getting a little more organized.  I am not finished getting that done, so hopefully over the next week I can get the office area set up to the way that I would like to see it for now.

Krozwyrd - this was my craft focus for the last week and I and to move the q-snap to get to the bottom of the design.  I have now got to the bottom row of letters, so I know I have enough fabric to complete the piece.  I am now going to finish outlining the rest of the letters and then see how things go.  I hope to be able to get more of the blocks done but not sure if this is going to be my focus piece this week or if something else is going to take its place.  

I think what I really like about working on this piece is that with it only being two colours I don't have to keep checking to make sure I am using the right colour.  I am thinking that continuing to work on this is relaxing and right now that is something that is very important.  I will see what this week is like and when I post the blog next week you will see what I have been able to accomplish and on what project.

Other stuff - as the number of cases in Ontario continue to rise we are sitting back and wondering when we may get moved back a stage of opening.  We continue to be extremely careful when we are out, so now we just have to wait and see what happens. 

I haven't picked up a lot of my other crafting lately but will see what happens this week.  I don't have as many days to do the crafting, but I will see what I can gt done, and hopefully I will have some good results on at least a couple of projects this week.

Remember to take some time for yourself each day and do something that you love doing.  We all need to remember that it isn't being selfish, it is making sure that we keep ourselves well so that we can assist everyone else around us.
