Progress

Mini Magic of Books - April 19
Here it is another Monday morning, and I have some progress on a couple of projects. The self-isolation continues, and like most people, I am looking to things getting back to normal.

Mini Magic of Books - I have been working on this project again this week.  I have tried to add a bit more colour to the dress, but a lot of what I worked on was getting more of the black filled in.  I have finished the black on the second page and am now working on getting the black done on the first page of this row.

One good thing this week on this project is I have reached 10% complete or 9,000 stitches done in about a month and a half.  It felt good seeing that I was able to get that much done and now to continue to work on this for a while longer and see how much I can get done.

Mini Magic of Books - April 26
This piece is also what I am using for a cross-stitch challenge, and it was to try to get 10,000 stitches done on a Heaven and Earth project by May 15th and this started March 23rd.  Since March 23rd I have been able to complete just over 6,800 stitches, so now to see if I can continue to stitch on this piece and get the 10,000 done.

Diagonal Shawl - Mar 26
Diagonal Garter Shawl - I picked up this project again over the weekend and added a few more rows.  I haven't knit on this for a while, so I figured it was time to get back to working on it.  I am not sure when I will pick it up again, but at least I know that I have got a bit more of it moved along.

It would be nice to see this project also moved forward in the next while, and I should measure it so that I know how much more I need to knit before I start the decrease.  I think I am over halfway on the one side but need to check.
Diagonal Shawl - Apr 25

I have other projects that I am also working on but again most of them get just a bit of work done so nothing that you can see any change in.  Finding time to do something for me is very important right now.  I hope that everyone else is doing the same and making sure that you take time for yourself each day.

I hope everyone has a good week, and you stay safe, and well.  Remember that you are not alone, and there are a lot of people feeling like you are.

A bit of progress

Mini Magic of Books - April 12
Here it is the start of another week of self-isolation or whatever this is now being called.  Six weeks of doing things differently is basically what it is.  Hope everyone continues to stay safe and well during this time.

Mini Magic of Books - April 19
Mini Magic of Books - I am continuing to work on this piece a bit most days as I am looking forward to seeing some more colour being added to the piece.  This last week my focus was to get more of the first two pages across worked on, so I focused more on the black on the second page.

This week my goal might be to get the top section of black done on the second page and then start adding colour to these two pages.  It would be nice to see more of the dress appear, so that might be my focus for the next little while.
English Paper Piecing

English Paper Piecing - I am still working on getting more motifs done and this weekend I added a few more to the pile. I am looking forward to working on getting theses motifs attached to the runner so that the runner gets a little closer to being finished.  I haven't worked on the overall runner for a while, so I think it is time that I start doing that.

I continue to have a bunch of small projects on the go, and those are also helping me keep some sort of focus right now.

I hope everyone continues to find time to do something for themselves each day.  Making sure that you continue to take care of yourself as well as be there for others is important. I will continue to work on some of the projects that I want to work on for a while and who knows I may change some of the projects that I work on this week.

Have a good week, and stay safe during this crazy time we are all living in.

Progress and some finishes

Mini Magic of Books - April 5
Here it is the start of another week.  I know that it continues to be a crazy world that we are all living in.   This week I found that there were some projects that I was happy to work on.
Mini Magic of Books - April 12

Mask Holders
Mini Magic of Books - I continue to work on this piece a bit at a time, and I am happy with the progress that I am seeing on it. I continue to work on adding the black as it is something that I can do easily when I need to make sure that my attention is available for other tasks, such as being available to take client calls.  The colour addition is something that I do when I have a bit of time to sit and focus on it.
MAP

Mask Holders - this is a project that I started at the end of this last week and I have crocheted 40 mask holders, which I will be dropping off to a Rehabilitation Centre that could use them.  The mask holders are quick to crochet, and then the sewing on the buttons doesn't take too long to complete either. I have enjoyed working on these as it is something a little different, but I am also helping people that are required to wear masks for their entire shift at work.
Ink Circles - Map

I am going to continue to make these mask holders as long as I have buttons that I can add to them.

Finishes - yesterday I decided it was time to focus on trying to get a few things finished.  The first project we worked on was getting a fabric map finished and onto our wall.  We had this panel with the map of Canada for a while and finally, I got around to finishing it, and it is now hung up on our wall.

I am happy with how it looks as it means that the wall isn't so bear and we have something to help cut some of the noise in that hall.

After we got the map hung up on the wall, it was time to look at some of the finished cross stitch projects that I had.  I have lots of cross stitch projects that I have finished stitching, but I have never framed.

Avocado
It was fun looking at some of the projects that I have finished over the years while figuring out what frames we had available to start framing pieces. The first two projects that got framed were quick to do as they are both small enough to fit into a 5 x 7 frame.  Map was stitched in June 2019 and Avocado was stitched in February 2019.

I am happy seeing a couple more projects finished and now to see which project I will frame next.  I have a bunch of things that I want to finish, so that is going to be one of the tasks that I hope to get moved forward in the next few weeks.

I hope everyone is starting safe and healthy during this time.  It is a challenge for all of us, and we have to understand that we aren't alone during this time.  Try to find some time each day to do something for yourself that you enjoy.  I hope you have a good week, and I will see what I can do this week.

Progress during a crazy time

Mini Magic of Books - March 29
Here it is the start of another week.  Things are still crazy in the world, but at least I have been able to find a bit of time to do the things that I love doing.

Mini Magic of Books - I continue to add more of the black to this piece, and it makes me happy to see that I have started to work up around her dress now.  There is still a lot more black to add to the piece, but it makes me feel good seeing that I have also been able to add a bit of colour to the piece.
Mini Magic of Books - April 5

I continue to work on the next four pages all at once, so that means that I don't see a lot of progress completed in one area.  I am enjoying this project right now and am looking forward to seeing how much more of it I can get finished.  I do have a couple of other projects that I would like to move forward, so that might get a bit of attention in the next couple of weeks.

Small waves - March 29
Small waves scarf - this week, I wanted to get the rest of the rows knit on this scarf so that I could get it off the needles, and I finally was able to get that done. I finished up the scarf with 80 patterns completed.  It felt that the scarf was about the right length, so I finished it off and sewed in all the ends.  It feels great to see this scarf finished and now to see what gets added to the knitting needles in the next couple of days.

Small waves - April 5
One thing I am enjoying is having a couple of knitting projects on the go right now as well as a couple of crochet projects.  I don't get a lot of time to work on each item, but at least I have a variety, and I think that it helps a lot.

I continue to have a gift that I am working on, and it hasn't got finished yet, but I know that sitting and working on it for a while would help a lot.  I also have a couple of other projects on the go that I don't have pictures of currently.  It feels great seeing that I can make progress on things even with everything that is going on in the world right now.

I hope everyone has a good week, and you find some time to do something that you enjoy doing, even for a few minutes each day.  Stay safe and remember that we are all in this together, and we will get through it.
