Some more progress and a new start

Linen and Threads - Mystery SAL - March 18
Here it is the start of another week and I have some progress on things which makes me happy.  I know that there are going to be weeks when I have lots to show and other weeks when I just don't seem to get as much done as I had hoped and this is the latter.

Linen and Threads - Mystery SAL -- I was able continue to work on this piece over the week and actually did more than the two threads a day when I was stitching on it.  See, the reason for the extra work on it was I didn't stitch at all for three days this week and then I also wanted to see if I could get this section of the pattern finished before the next section is released.

Linen and Threads - Mystery SAL - March 24
I am happy to know that I have been able to get the overall section finished before the end of the month.  I am really looking forward to seeing what the next section looks like and once it has been released I will be starting to work on it and see how quickly I can get it done.

Linen and Threads - Squirrels - March 4
Linen and Threads - Squirrels - once I finished Mystery SAL it was time to figure out something else that I wanted to work on and Squirrel got my attention and I was able to get a bit of it done.  I only worked on it a bit two evenings and yes I was able to get two threads done a day as a minimum on this piece.

Linen and Threads - Squirrels - March 25
I am going to be working on this piece while I wait for the next section of the Mystery SAL to be released and I would like to see if I could at least get the other squirrel started before too long.  On the right side I just need to finish off the tail and then it will be done.  I love how this piece is turning out and how quickly it really stitches up.

Awesome by Stitchrovia
Awesome - Stitchrovia - after finishing Swan I have been trying to figure out which project was going to get a start and finally this week I figured out which one would get the attention and it was Awesome by Stitchrovia.

I don't think this piece is going to be very hard to finish but it does mean that I am going to have to sit and work on it instead of letting it sit around like a lot of the other projects have been doing.  I love the saying on this piece so I hope that I will be able to get it done quickly and then get it framed.

Awesome - Stitchrovia - March 22
This piece is done by the same designer that did "Quotes to Live By" which I stitched last year so hopefully this will also be a nice quick piece.  I am stitching this pattern on black aida so it is something that it a little harder to do but I am enjoying how it looks so far.  I only spent part of an evening working on this so now to see when I pick it up again.

It is another busy week for me so will see how much stitching I can get done in the evenings.  I would love to see some progress on both Squirrel and Awesome but will see how the week goes.  Work needs to be done first and then I will see what I can do to move the projects forward in the evenings.

Have a great week and Happy Easter to everyone.

Another week and moving things forward

Linen and Threads Mystery SAL - March 11th
Here it is Monday morning and I am currently looking at what stitching I was able to get done last week and part of me is happy with the progress on things and another part of me is a little disappointed in what I accomplished.  I know that finishing Swan a week ago did mean that I would have to find a new project to grab my attention and that hasn't happened yet.

Linen and Threads Mystery SAL - March 18th
Linen and Threads Mystery SAL - now this project was the project that I continued to work on two threads at a time over this week and yes I have been able to make a bit of progress on it. I now just need to do the last dragon on it and finish off the border and this section will be done.  I really do want to get it finished before the end of the month so that is something that I will continue to work on this week.

I am going to continue with the minimum two threads a day on this project as it makes me feel great to see that it moving forward even if it is slow progress sometimes. In this last section I do have a bit more of the lighter colour to stitch as well so that will add a bit of variety.  I have also been thinking of adding some more bling to the pattern but that is going to have to wait until I see more of the design.  With it being a Mystery stitch a long it means that I don't know what the finished piece is going to look like so I don't want to add some glitter or anything else until I have a better idea what the entire piece looks like.

Tiger Lily - February 12th
Tiger Lily - now this project came up at the beginning of the week and get a bit of work done on it but most of the stitching on this piece happened over the weekend.
Tiger Lily - March 17th

I hadn't worked on this piece for almost a month so I decided it needed to get some attention so that is what I did.  I pulled out the pattern and thread and started to work on it.  I still have lots of it to finish but at least I am slowly making progress on this piece as well.  I hope to do some more stitching on this piece this month but will see how things go.

One thing that I am thinking about it trying to figure out a cross stitch project that grabs me like Swan did. I have a lot of different projects that I have started so I think over the next couple of weeks I may be pulling some of them out to see if one of them grabs me and wants a lot of attention. Until then I know that I have things to work on and even if they don't get a lot of attention they will at least get moved forward a bit at a time.

Well before I can think about  which project I am going to work on I have some work that needs to be done so that is what I am off to do now.  Hope everyone has a great week and gets lots of stitching done.

A good week and a finish

Swan - March 3rd
Here it is the beginning of another week and I am happy with the stitching that I was able to get done this week. I was able to find a bit of stitching time each evening and some on the weekend and I have some progress on some projects this week which makes me very happy.

Swan - March 11th
Swan - now this is the project that once again was the focus of most of my stitching for the week. I have been working on getting this piece done and as of yesterday it is now done which makes me very happy.   I am happy to see this piece finished in a lot of ways but I was reall enjoying working on it so am a little sad as well to see it finished.

I am extremely happy with how it turned out considering it was based on a picture and I converted it into cross-stitch so there wasn't a finished picture of it for me to really know what it was going to look like before I actually sat down and started to stitch it.  Sure, I had the original picture but that was it so am happy with how it turned out.  It now needs to be pressed and framed but that will be in a little while.

Linen and Threads Mystery SAL - March 4th
Linen and Threads Mystery SAL 2018 - I am continuing to work on this piece two threads a day and am happy with the progress that I have been able to make on it. I figure this is gong to be a project that gets a little more attention now that Swan is finished but will see if that really happens.  I still have a plan to at least get two threads a day done on this project for a while to ensure that I can get it done.

Linen and Threads Mystery SAL - March 11th
I am thinking that the two threads a day will either be on this Mystery SAL or the 2017 version which I would also like to see some progress on soon. I figure I will do the minimum two threads a day on this piece until it is done and then while I am waiting for the next month to be released I will work on the 2017 version two threads a day.  I hope that being able to do that I will be able to see some progress on both of the pieces this year.

Temperature - March 1st
Temperature - after being a little frustrated at the beginning of the month with not finding the temperatures that I needed I have finally been able to get moving forward on it again and am happy with the progress that I have been able to do on it.  I have now got all the stitching up through the 9th of March done and now will be trying to keep up to date on this project.

Temperature - March 11th
At the beginning of this week I was still without a number of days so I decided to reach out to someone to see if they would be able to assist me with the information that I was looking for.  A quick email to a Chief Meteorologist got me a link to a source that I have now been using.  I am now happily working on the project again and am looking forward to keeping him updated on the project.  This project is a lot of fun and there are days when you can really see big changes in temperatuures and other days things stay fairly constant.

Now that Swan is finished I will be trying to figure out another project that will get some attention as I do have a lot of things that are currently sitting and waiting for some attention.  I will see what I can pull out and work on. Before I can pull out a project I have some work that needs to get done so that is what I am off to do now.

Hope everyone is having some great stitching time and remember that even a thread or two being used a day is at least a way to move a project forward.

Some progress

Swan - Feb 25th
This last week went by pretty quickly and maybe that is because there wasn't the Olympics to watch.  I know that I was able to get some stitching in most evenings which made me feel good and I have made some progress on things.

Swan - March 3
Swan - of course, this is the project that I am working on to get finished by the end of April and I am seeing that I should be able to get it done by then.  I am happy with the progress that I was able to make on it again this week so will see if I can continue to work on it this week and maybe I will start to see more of the neck of the front swan.

Once this swan is done, the project is finished, so yes the end is starting to be seen.  Seeing the end so close makes it that I would like to work on this more and more so will see how things go this week.

Temperature - Feb 22nd
Temperature - here is a project that has hit a bit of a road block and it isn't due to me but it is due to the source that I have been using to get the temperatures for this project.  I was going along fine until the 28th of February when no data was provided.  I have been checking each day since then and still no data has been provided so now I have 5 days of information missing and that is getting frustrating.

Temperature - March 1st
When I found that my source was missing the information I decided to check the Government of Canada site to see if the information was there but it is missing there as well so now I am sitting and trying to figure out how I am going to continue with this project. I hope that the issue is resolved soon and I will be able to get the temperatures that I need and then I will be able to get back to stitching on this.

Linen and Threads - Mystery SAL - March 4th
Linen and Threads - Mystery SAL 2018 - this piece is back to getting attention and that is because the March section of the piece has been released and I am working on it now.  I am happy that I can continue to work on this piece and will see what it looks like at the end of this week as I am looking forward to seeing the dragons that are part of this month.

I have actually seen that some people have finished the March section already but considering I have other projects to work on and I don't stitch during the day I am happy with my progress.
Linen and Threads - Squirrel - Feb 25th

Linen and Threads - Squirrels - this project got some attention this weekend when I decided that I needed something a little different to work on. The body of the squirrel really didn't take me too long to stitch once I was able to start working on it.  I feel good about how this piece is turning out because it was designed for one colour and I have selected where I would add the other colours.

Linen and Threads - Squirrel - March 4th
Now the tail for the squirrels are the one area that is a bit more work because it is using two different colour threads together.  I didn't want the tail to be the dark brown but I also didn't want the lighter colour so I am stitching with one thread of each of the browns and am liking how the tail is now turning out.

This week I hope to be able to spend some time working on Swan as I would like to see more of it completed.  Mystery SAL will also get some attention as I want to continue moving this project forward as well.  Other than those two projects I am not sure what I will work on as it will depend if I can get the temperatures that are missing and also how much time I have to actually do the stitching.

It is now time for me to get some work done and will see how much stitching I can get done this evening. Hope everyone is enjoying their stitching time and are getting their projects completed.
