Another week and some good progress

Here it is the start of another week, and I can say that I am happy with the progress that I was able to make last week on a couple of my projects. Of course, things again were a little different so didn’t get the focus that I wanted on things but at least I was able to get things done.

Pandemic - here is the project that got the most attention again this last week. I wanted to see if I could move it forward a bit more.

It was nice to be able to work on this piece for a bit longer and see that it is getting closer to a finish. I still have over 22,000 stitches to go on the piece, so a finish isn’t going to happen in the next little while. This project is going to go away for a couple of weeks as there are other projects that I would like to try and move forward a little bit, so we will see how that goes.

Junos Garden – here is the piece that I picked up after working on Pandemic as I wanted to see if I could at least move this one forward a little bit. As this is also a monochrome project it does move forward quickly as you aren't changing colours. It has been nice to see this project come back out even if it was only for a day.

This piece has been a lot of fun to work on because there are different sections that are part of the entire design so that means that I can work on a different area if I want to and that makes it such a nice project to work on. Given I only had a day to work on this piece I decided to work on getting more of the border around the centre of the design completed so now when I pick it up I can either continue to work on the middle section or I can finish this part of the border and then out to work on some of the other areas.

This piece is going to be a project that I pick up every now and again as I don't have a deadline on it and it is just a fun piece to move forward even a little bit at a time.

Toque - this week I decided that instead of working on my shawl I would start to knit a toque for a change. I didn't get a lot of it completed but at least I got it started and that is what I wanted to do. I have decided that I would like to try and make a few toques to use up some of the worsted weight yarn that I have. We will see how that goes and how many toques I end up making.

Hopefully through the winter months I will be able to sit and work on toques some of the time so that I will end up with some toques that I can donate to a place that needs them.

Other projects - I was able to spend some time working on my English Paper Piecing this past week, which was nice. I hadn't picked it up much lately so being able to see the progress on it that I did was nice. I will post about that on the 1st of November.

I hope everyone has had a good week and you have found time to do something that you enjoy doing. Making sure we take a bit of time for ourselves and recharge our personal battery. If things go well, I hope to have some progress to show you next week on a couple of projects. I haven't decided what will get the attention this week yet so we will see what gets moved forward.

Enjoying what I am working on

Here it is the start of another week, and I was able to spend a bit of time working on my projects and that made me happy. Of course, there are other things that need to get done, but I at least got to see some progress on some projects.

Mini Unleash the Butterflies - here is the first project that I picked up and worked on last week as it was the WIPGO call so I wanted to make sure that I put a bit of time in on the piece. My WIPGO goal, is at least 500 stitches and I made sure to do that before another project was waiting for some attention.

I am loving seeing this piece slowly come together and I will see when this piece starts calling me to get it done. I still have a long way to go before I am even close to a finish, but I am enjoying seeing some of the different features start to appear. This project will be getting a bit more attention before the end of the year so that is good and maybe it will get more than a couple of days worth of stitching on it.

Pandemic - here is the piece that was calling to me and so I figured I would put some time into this piece. I normally work on it at least one week a month so this time it will get just a little bit more than that and I am fine with that.  I am trying to get this project completed soon so spending a couple extra days on it makes me happy.

I have enjoyed working on this piece and the best part is, I can pick a section that I want to work on and if I get tired of that section I just move onto another section.

I still have a ways to go on this piece but at least moving it forward a bit at a time makes me happy. I am going to try and fill in some of those blank areas soon so that I get ready to roll it up again and see that I am getting closer to the top of the piece.

Little Meg Shawl - large version - this is the knitting project that I have been working on a bit at a time. There are over 300 stitches now on the needle, so it does take a bit of time to get even a couple of rows knit. I hope to continue to move this shawl forward this week as it would be nice to see it closer to a finish, but I am still a ways from seeing it finished but moving it forward makes me happy.

Other projects - I have been able to work on my English Paper Piecing a little bit this past week and that was nice. I hope to have more progress to show you at the end of the month. At least I know that I have been able to pick it up more this month than I have in the last few months.

I hope everyone is having a good October and it is hard to believe we are almost two thirds of the way through this month. Remember, to make sure you take that little bit of time for yourself each day to recharge your personal battery.

I hope to have some progress to show you next week.

A slower week

Here it is the start of another week, and it is a holiday Monday here in Canada as it is Thanksgiving for us. Yes, we celebrate Thanksgiving the 2nd Monday of October, so it is time for the turkey dinner and for some pumpkin pie.

This past week there wasn't a lot of crafting that got accomplished but I did at least pick up someone each day even if it was only for a few stitches. I continued to move things forward so that was most important.

Juno's Garden - this piece did get a little bit of work but not as much as I would have liked to see on it but at least I moved it forward a little bit which was good. Now to see if I work on this for a bit more this week or if I will be picking up a different project. I think this week, it will be a different project so that I can get at least the 500 stitches in on the second WIPGO call for October.

I know that I have a lot of projects that I want to work on so what I am going to do now is figure out which ones are going to get the most attention between now and the end of the year.

Little Meg Shawl - large version - here is the knitting that got a bit of attention as well this week. One thing that I did do was change onto the circular needle so that I had some more room to work on the shawl and not worry about dropping stitches off the needle when I moved the project.

It has been nice having this project to work on even if it is just a couple of rows at a time. I am continuing to move it forward and am looking forward to seeing what it looks like when completed. I know I still have a ways to go before it is done.

Other projects - this past week I decided it was time to pick up and work on my English Paper Piecing for a little while and I am happy to see that I am finally moving projects forward again at least a little bit.

This past week has been a little different for me as I did give myself permission to just hide and not put all the various demands on myself. It has felt a lot better as I have just taken it easy and accepted that if things didn't get accomplished as quickly as I wanted that was ok.

I hope everyone has a good week and hopefully I will be able to make some more progress on things this week. Again, I am going to be giving myself permission to not stress about getting everything accomplished extremely quickly. Moving things forward is always good even if it is just a little bit at a time. Hope everyone has a good week and you remember to take that time for yourself.

Making some slow progress and a new start

Here it is the start of another week, and hopefully I will be able to spend some time working on moving everything forward even just a little bit. Of course, I have work things that need my attention but after that I will see what crafting I am able to accomplish.

Mini Magic of Books - here is the project that was called for WIPGO for October so it was time to see if I could make some progress on this piece. I decided that I was going to do something a little different this time and I wanted to see if I could reach the top of the piece. When I looked at where I was on the left side I figured it was possible to get that much done.

The interesting part of this section especially the left most section was there are two colours in that little section so that meant a lot of counting so that I could get the colours in where they belonged. It was nice to see that I was able to at least touch the top of this piece, so I now have all the sides touched, so now to see what happens when I pick this piece up again.

I am not certain how much more attention Mini Magic of Books will get this year, but I am very happy with the progress that I was able to make on it. At first this project was just going to remain tucked away, but I am glad that I was able to at least make some progress on it this year, and we will see what happens next year.

Juno's Garden - yesterday I decided it was time to start a new project as I haven't had a new start for quite some time, so this is the project that I started. I recently picked up this piece when I heard about a group of designers that had decided to design some charts for charity. The group is We Are The Threads of Unity and they have a shop currently on ETSY where all the proceeds of these charts go to Cancer Research UK. These charts are only available through December 31, 2025 so I knew it was time for me to at least pick up one of these patterns.

I decided that the first one that I would pick up was Juno's Garden so a couple of weeks ago I picked up some nice silk thread to stitch this piece with so it was time to at least make a little start on this project. I am not certain if I will be putting this piece away just yet as I am thinking that I might enjoy some stitching on it this week and see how much of it I can get completed.

Little Meg Shawl - large version - here is the knitting that I have been working on. It has been nice having this project to work on as it has helped me focus on my knitting for a little while. I have been trying to at least do some knitting most days and this is the project that I have been picking up to get some progress on. I still have a long way to go on this shawl as I have just completed a little over 15% of the shawl. This is the project that I will continue to focus on as I would like to see how quickly I can move it forward.

Of course, I have been trying to keep the project on my straight needle as long as I can, but I think I will soon have to move it to the circular needles so that I don't risk dropping stitches when I am pickup up the project to work on.

Other projects - last week was a very busy week with a two-day conference so there wasn't a lot of time to work on anything else. This coming week I hope to be able to find even a little bit of time to work on my EPP projects, but we will see what happens. This week is once again another different week so we will just have to wait and see what happens.

I hope everyone is finding that little bit of time to do something for yourself each day. It does make a big difference even if you are only able to find a few minutes to do something for yourself. This week, I hope to be able to spend some time at least moving a project or two forward so we will see how it goes, and I will let you know next week.

English Paper Piecing - September progress

Here it is the end of another month and time to show what I was able to accomplish on my English Paper Piecing for this last month. There are times that I wonder why I don't get a lot of EPP done and then I think of the other crafts that I have been able to get done.

Scrap Throw - well, as you can see, I haven't got a lot done on this project again this month. I had lots of plans for getting more progress on this project, but it just didn't happen. Hopefully over the next couple of months I can start to focus on my EPP a bit more.

Other projects - I haven't worked on any of my other EPP projects this past month. I had hoped to be able to move something forward but other things got my time and attention so EPP didn't get the time it should have got.

I hope that I can get back to spending a bit more time working on getting my EPP projects accomplished as it would be nice to see things moved forward more than they have in the last few months. I think time will tell and maybe next month will be a little better and I might be able to focus on my EPP a little more.
